I get the feeling this has been answered somewhere, but I can't find it.

So is Space Rokugan like modern Japan, where non-seafood meat has creeped into the diet in a big way, even if it's not quite as traditional? I mean, is there Wagyu beef, or Kwanchai Fried Chicken restaurants, gyudon stands, and such? Or did they decide to just keep that stuff as distasteful since they never had a point in the Empire's history where adapting red meat was really necessary?

Do grenades and other similar battle explosives exist and are used/widespread nowadays? The only mention I could find of grenades was the Tamori grenadiers... who say they evolve past the need for actual grenades.

They do, to a degree. Needless to say you can't pick one up downtown OR take one to a diplomatic occasions. Militaries have them and that's more or less it.

Or would I need to drop the rifle?

Yes, but you cannot fire rifle one handed.

Do we know if a special patrol did indeed depart the city D8 to enter the forest? The magistrate seemed to suggest it was a not so small group and that it had special equipment, so I guess that mustn't be really discreet?

Is there any kind of equipment/detector that can detect spiritual realms, or strength of....local points to realms? To see how strong the connection between Ningen-Do and other realms are?

Yes, but not on the markets in the same way say, communicators are.
