Dutiful to his idea, especially as he had an Imperial to help as well as the traditional three hands of the Emperor, Mal-Chin came to the Temple of Fukurokujin to offer a prayer of thanks. And to find a book on helping secure a website's database. He was going to need to make it as safe as he could, and a password protected site left certain openings. Maybe he'd do that "I am not a kami" test? |

It took some time, but he did end up finding a good choice of reference. Note taking and research took the rest of his time. |

As Fukurokujin was a venerated Fortune for the Phoenix, it seemed only proper to visit and pay her respects. Maybe she'd have a Phoenix spouse at the end of this miai? Well, there were certainly benefits in having someone be the brains in a partnership. After offering her prayers and thanks for a safe journey to the planet, Hyeon-ju figured she'd peruse the extended library for some inspiration. Though the unfamiliar shelves and wide array of scrolls made it so that she didn't find much on what she had been looking for. Lots of other ideas and inspirations, but not exacty what she was looking for. Her brow furrowed as she returned yet another book to the shelf. ---------- D1 LA Researching Phoenix makeup styles in the library of Fukurokujin. +1k1 Void. TN 20: 3d10 17 |

Logistics? Done. Training? Done. Lunch? Done. Socializing? Planned. Only one thing remained. The most dreaded, the most terrible. Homework. Grandpa had been adamant about the fact she should prepare herself to rank up as soon as possible. And in his mind, that more or less meant knowing about all the military theory – and the bureaucracy – a general should know about. Her teachers had prepared for her a list of books she was supposed to find, read and write essays about. Mostly the classics from the Lion and Sun Tao, but with a few oddities and rarities, just in case she was to find them. For now, she was facing, again, a copy of Leadership ("always return to the basics"), taking notes on her densai. And she felt twice as tired after half an hour than she had been after a full session of exercise. The archaic language was excruciating to understand, even with helpful commentaries from modern scholars at her disposal, and the whole philosophical aspect of the book just made her head hurt. Nearby, Kyoko was far more leisurely reading some treaty on mechanics. |
