Asako Mal-Chin did what he could to make sure the meeting room that had been secured for the Phoenix in the miai was all set. Plenty of places to sit. Breakfast would be on its way shortly. Messages had been sent. Now to see who'd show up! |

Moriko was usually up with the birds, so she was fresh-faced and bright eyed as she arrived in the city. She was in a good mood. The otori flocks were back and she felt halfway normal again, excited about spending the latter half of the morning with the beasts of burden. Approaching the meeting room, she peered inside and bowed to Mal-Chin, "good morning, Asako-san, how are you this day?" At her side a shiba inu grinned, panting in the early heat of what promised to be a scorcher. |

Ten shoulder-checked his sibling happily; "morning, Hoshi-chan," she greeted her sister. "If the otori are a bit ornery, all the more fun." It was a rather typical response from the slightly wild nature lover. |

Chiruha was present at the scheduled meeting of Phoenixes. While she was the governor's daughter, she competing under the same stakes as anyone else when it came to marriage. She did miss her share of meetings and public appearances yesterday but today seemed to be the day she had to make up for them, coming to the meeting dressed in a traditional furisode kimono for a bulk of her public appearances today. "Good morning, minasan, hope things didn't get started already," she said before she shuffled into the meeting room to join the others. |

"Although if you all don't mind me asking...I wrote my survey with the other clans in mind...I don't really know how it'd be relevant for any of you, as it was mostly a way to inform our visitors about Shiro Yoake and Asakaze." |

Ten willingly rolled onto his back, play biting at Ren's neck. "Asako-sama, you look lovely," Moriko gushed excitedly, she'd never look that good in traditional dress, but the governor's daughter wore it well. |

Chiruha smiled at the direction of the doggos for a moment, especially when some of the Phoenix chose to bring their shiba here. The meeting wasn't about dogs but that didn't stop her from moving closer to the twins and sitting close to them. "Chiruha is just fine for everyone here," she said sheepishly, figuring that they didn't need to bounce Family names around when everyone was on home turf. Looking at her dress, she idly smoothed down the fabric. It was heavy and a bit stuffy but she had to admit that it looked rather pretty. "Thank you, Shiba-san. Apparently, I didn't look good enough on the holo-recorder yesterday and I was supposed to make up for it today. There's certainly a good number of journalists here and we're supposed to look more established as a colony. Of course, just a suggestion to everyone else here and not a requirement." |

Atsumori's hair was still a little mussed (he'd tried to flatten it! Honest Phoenix!) and he was tapping on his communicator while he sauntered through Shiro Yoake, glancing around in between inputs to make sure he still had his bearings. He tucked the device away in one of his many pockets as he swung into the meeting room. " 'Morning, cousins." His bow was a little casual but still broadly appropriate... it was clear he had an eye out for breakfast, though. |

Chiruha smiled softly when yet another Shiba appeared and bowed politely in return. "Good morning, Shiba-san. This one is Asako Chiruha. Please join, us." While he was a Phoenix, she more or less got the feeling that he wasn't exactly local. It still a treat to have kin around, even if they weren't from the same system. |

"Hoshiko-san." Atsumori ducked his head genially. To Chiruha and the others he explained. "Shiba Atsumori's the name. Came in from the Tadaka system." Which would explain why he didn't seem local. "Family back on Ujimitsu, but I grew up on Joudo. There, I think that's the whole introduction thing." |

If you may, please." She nodded at the direction of the other Asako. |

Mal-Chin straightens, standing. He then bows to everyone. Straightening again, he hits a symbol on his densai. "Breakfast will be here shortly. Before then, thank you all for joining me today!" He looks to the small crew of Phoenix. "I thought it'd be important for us to meet, for our mutual benefit. We've all got responsibilities to the Phoenix and who we end up marrying may end up having a lot of meaning for Asakaze and potentially the Phoenix as a whole." He looks to the three Shiba and his fellow Asako. "In the coming days I'll be posting a website with information volunteered to me, for members of the miai to join. That is to the benefit of everyone in the miai, as we play host. However, we can also help each other. We can try to steer those who you prefer, or members of clans you prefer, in your direction. Or steer them away. After all, the other clans will also be making pledges among themselves. So!" He looks down at the densai, aware of his tendency to speak too long. "How can we help each other? Does anyone have any strong preferences or thoughts as to who we should seek out to benefit Asakaze and the Phoenix? Anyone we should avoid?" He looks between the group again, "Or anything you'd like assistance with in bettering your own or each others chances?" |
