"Somewhat. Utaku-san, Matsu Chyoko-san, Asako Chiruha-san and Kuni Eriko-san, currently. Maybe Tsuruchi Hayato-san." he stated simply, eyeing the Lioness. "Nothing to mention just yet." He replied in jest. "What about you?"

"Ah, I know a few of those names. You have a good eye."
At this question Shoan slowly arches an eyebrow

"I am either on the list or I am not, Ujina-sama. I cannot place myself there, you will have to tell me if you think I would make a good wife."
If that's the sort of thing one says to large armed Lion women.

Jin smirked. "Well, then, I will ask a bit more clearly. How is your list looking, Murame-san?" He smiled and looked away. "You would make a good wife, I'd reckon, but I would be afraid of dragging you into the Hare."

With a certain pure honesty"You're on the list Ujina-sama, but not at the top. I don't mean that rudely, but I believe honesty is best in matters like this....I think"

There's the barest flash of amusement in her eyes at his comment
"Your Clan has always pursued honourable duties, would I be so poorly fitted for the Hare? Is it because Ikoma can't jump?"

"Arigatou for your honesty, and I understand." He let out a laugh. "Ie, I believe you can jump. I am just worried if my clan would pull you away from the Jade Legion. Or how you find my home. It's fairly..pedestrian. You seem to have a good career ahead of you, and I worry a Minor Clanner might not have the same."

The Lion cocks her head slightly, watching Jin for a few long moments
"....That is very mature of you Ujina-sama, some might even say compassionate. I would be....less than thrilled to lose my position in the legion."

Another pause
"You just moved up slightly on the list."

Jin let out a laugh. "Well, isn't that paradoxical a bit? Getting chosen for marriage because I would rather no marry you?" He shook his head. "That is something I am considering. Utaku-san would make a good spouse, but I the Hare Navy will not offer her the same opportunities as the Unicorn of course. Matsu Chiyoko-san, I feel, would make the smoothest transition, and even she suffer, I feel."

She nods along as Jin spells it out
"Utaku-san has...high expectations of other samurai, which is not necessarily a bad thing."
Although from Shoan's tone...
"Matsu-san may be a good match, surely your clan have ways to put her talents to work."

Jin nodded. "Yes, of course. We too have people we want to shoot, after all." He smiled. "Yeah, Utaku-san's requirements are strict. But then, shouldn't we be all discerning? We are talking about the rest of our lives after all."

And while the Lion, the Hare and any others at the temple of Kisada were conversing or performing their prayers, the gate was opened a little wider than usual and a group of peasants, armed mostly with cleaning supplies, but also some craft tools, marched onto the temple grounds.

They were lead by the Spider, with Shokomaru at the lead in his officer's uniform, cover on smartly and great coat looking sharp.

When they had all entered he ordered them to all fall in and walked the line.

"Alright, we're here to praise Kisada-no-kami, so no giving up. Breaks are at appointed times, if I don't catch you screwing around...", he jerked his thumb at the temple. "He will."

"You all know your jobs, now get to it." He nodded to the other Spider, giving them the go ahead, then he grabbed some work gloves for himself as well.

And very oddly...the Spider and group of heimin started...cleaning...the temple. Moving refuse, painting walls, polishing the statues and repairing parts of the roof an walk ways.

Honest work. That could help clear the stench of failure from his mind. Reverent bows given to the shrine, the younger of the Obsidian Magistrates went to work. His athleticism and strength at least helpful at moving things about and cleaning, asking the Monks what they needed done.

Shoan looks from the Spider, to the heimin, to Jin, to the Spider, to the statue of Kisada and then back to Jin

"Yes, quite right."

Jin leaned in towards Shoan, and whispered.

"What is going on?"

"I have absolutely no idea, government mandated prayer?"

".....Well, why would the Spider be ordering Phoenix heimin around?...Why are they carrying them around?"
