Joo was browsing the archives in the Temple, trying to learning as much about Asakaze as he can, especially about that drone rally thing! It was his first attempt at impressing the locals and other future spouses, so maybe if he can find something here, that'll help him!

Maybe.

Hopefully.

Possibly?

There's a meeting tonight, she's been tossing comms at the twins, and only getting more worried day by day about what was going on out by the shrine. There's definitely a possibility that members of the sect are sprinkled through this temple too, but perhaps she can avoid making anyone too suspicious?

After appropriate rites to enter the thoroughly modern temple, she looks around at a bit of a loss which screen to look at first, searching for the signs to the library that certainly dwelt within the temple...or the catalog console at least.

Joo himself was busy flipping through the very detailed history of...Otori breeding. Why was he reading that? Granted, his father always told him animal husbandry was the answer to everything, so maybe?

Deciding to take a break, he glanced up and noticed a new arrival. He stood and bowed to her. "Greetings! Iuchi Joo-Woo of the Unicorn." He straightened with a smile. "Can I help, samurai-san?"

That was a great offer! Especially from someone who was spending his first day in the Shiro.

Mumei offers a deep bow, loose half of her hair hanging in a waterfall of black-rooted blues. "Honored to meet you Iuchi-sama. Nakauchi Mumei most recently off the Far Winds."

Rising, she looks around at all the screens. "Trying to find the library filing information so I've got some idea where to look when I get int there. Aimlessly roaming the shelves seems likely to waste a lot of time."

"Honored to meet you." He smiled gladly. ANOTHER PERSON, YES!

"Well, I can't say I've spent too much time here, but I was here for a little while. Maybe the two of us can find something? What are you looking for Nakouchi-san?"

That just below the surface enthusiasm catches her attention, even if unaware of what it stems from. It draws up a smile. "Well, not to hit you with too much, but I'm looking up some information on connections to other realms and..well I guess what happens when they're created."

"But...haven't been here long? In the temple or on Asakaze?" She didn't recall hearing of him.

"Well, I've been on Asakaze for a few days...just in the hospital. It's my first time outside." He smiled sheepishly. "Spirit Realms?" His smile brightened even more. "Well, maybe Fukorijin is watching over us. I'm something of a novice in Spirit Realms, and also a medium." He started flipping over the archive interface, moving from mushroom cooking techniques to Applied Theology.

"Medium?" she asks quietly, looking over his shoulder. "And I suppose I need to leave an extra offering, because I thought I'd already run through as much luck as I could expect here. Though...given what I'm hunting up, I could do with a bit more, so maybe an extra nice offering is in order."

Joo looked over his own shoulder, unsure if he missed something. "Well, offerings are always welcome." He replied with a goofy smile. "Oh? What is Nakouchi-san hunting, if I may inquire?"

She takes a long breath. "Ummm...a lot of things, but I think I might start by verifying which realm corresponds to a rhyme I heard. The water kami aren't always super clear, but they're very good with visuals."

Tsugiharu continued his rummage through the stacks, taking no note that the Unicorn had stayed, and the Lion had left, only to be replaced with the Osprey. The morning had proved fruitful, so he hoped the second half would as well.

This particular topic was not where he expected it to be, however.

"Oh? What kind of rhyme did you hear?" His interest was obviously piqued, as he himself also started digging in the archives, looking into the alignment of Spirit Realms on Asakaze.

"This was talking to the water kami up at the Mori shrine. After talking about people trying to climb to the realm of this 'king in yellow', I asked what realm that was. And it said,"

Quote:
The realm of the great-serpents and walking turtles,
the grounds are clouds and the skies are myrtles,
where claws and wings will always clash
orange fiends, they trash and gnash!"

She recites it quietly with as much of the intonation as she can recall from the spirit. "Very vivid, and the trees and creatures make me think it's the realm of animals."

Joo frowned. "Oh? The shrine? I've been meaning to visit it for a while now. Perhaps next time you visit, you can let me know?" He fell in deep in thought. "Well, what I gather from here is that Asakaze is close Chikushuudo and Sakkaku, so that might help?"

He tapped on the table. "What is this king of yellow?"

"Yeah, Chikushudo seemed likely. But we're not entirely sure about this king, just that the rituals up there seem to be...feeding? it somehow. I was hoping to research him in particular...but I need to do that without running into members of the sect with my questions, I think." She glances around. "I've no idea how many of the attendants here might be, you know? I'm a little worried about keywords like 'yellow king' getting me unwanted attention. So I thought I'd see what I could find of spirit sightings in general and sift through them."

She nods. "But I'll definitely let you know when we head there again."

Joo looked at the rhyme, and tried to figure things out.

He couldn't.

"Feeding? Sect?" His eyebrows went up. "What's going on here exactly?" Wow. Asakaze seemed more fun from far away.

The Osprey raises an eyebrow, trying to keep semi-casual as she leans in a bit. "shhh...it's a library!"

"I'm also kind of worried about this sect after rumors of people going missing and stuff." She leans back, scrolling through the console a bit. "Not to freak you out if you've been out of commission a bit, but the kami were really pretty strong in warning that scary things are brewing."

Joo, the amateur conspirator jerked a bit at the her admonition, smiling sheepishly. "Gomenasai." He did lean himself a bit closer. "Missing people? I missed that...." He was kinda glad, actually. "What else do you know?"

She begins flipping though the topics on the console. "I don't want to get too into it in here where I can't know who's listening, you know? But let's see what kind of spirits have shown up here since the pacification? Maybe there's hints that aren't toooo direct there, you know?"

"So what's your background then? To focus on spirit realms, and all?" The question is mostly taking up time as she scrolls and nods at what she's finding.

Joo noeeded, allowing her to do her work. "Hai, spirit realms mostly. I know a little of a few topics. It's hard not to, when my fathers were involved in a whole lot of things." There was obvious pride and love as he spoke of them. "I was raised mainly on Kuwagata, where Father is part of the Death Priests, tending to the Moto on the planet, when not involved in some research on planetary spiritual harmony. Father, I mean Iuchi Shono, my other father, is currently involved in further research into travel technology."
