"Sorry, I don't think I understand what you're asking, Doji-san." he poured himself a drink.

"Overall, beyond me, yea? Your approach toward this experience, in meeting potential spouses and trying to learn as much as you can as quickly as you can to avoid sharing that experience your parents did. How did you go for you?" she asked, but a moment later shook her head.

"I don't mean to imply judgement," she said, waving her hand a little, "but I am curious if it worked a little, yea?"

He looked a little relieved, he thought she was asking something quite different.

"It's been good, I know I'm not the only one doing this, and people have had to talk about themselves quite a bit... but it isn't just what your favorite color is or what kinds of food you like." He paused, eyebrows showing concentration. "It's also about how you feel about the answers, if you get a positive vibe I'd say. In that, I think I've done well to recognize it. Being confident that someone wants you around is very helpful in a relationship."
