Expensively dressed, but not as formal as he had been for the Ritual earlier, Izumi arrived at the restaurant with the, now, rather dog eared 'free dinner' ticket the MCA had won at the Retro Night early on at the Miai. It had been passed around and not used. Despite his ability to pay and then some, it had been insisted he use it, so use it he would. Maybe if they wanted something fancy as an add on then he'd pay for it. |

Atsumori had immediately taken advantage of the time after the ceremony had concluded to shed his stiff kataginu, hopefully not to be worn again for quite a while. He turned up at the restaurant in a loose kimono-style white shirt under a neutral haori jacket, a light scarf with a crocodile-scale print looped around his neck. Everything was clean and free of any sort of claw holes or twig snags. Remarkable, really. It looked like Izumi's table was still being prepared as Atsumori arrived, perhaps because the well-handled dinner voucher had taken a bit of parsing. The tall Phoenix grinned as he spotted the ranbow-haired Fox. "Heya, Kitsune-sama! Or, er..." he cleared his throat and, a little less casual, somewhere between a correction and a question--"Izumi-san?" |

Izumi looked up, eyes sparkling behind the contacts and a silly grin on his face. "Ohhello, fiance-san." He had made a good choice, he was sure. "Izumiisfine. YoupreferAtsumoriorsomethingshorter?" |

"My friends call me 'Mori when they're in a hurry. That'll do, unless you think of somethin' else later... Izumi." Atsumori tried the name out for size without an honorific. It felt pretty natural, which was a nice surprise. "I, err, I like your hair today." He rubbed the back of his neck in an absent-minded sort of way, the corners of his eyes crinkling merrily. |

"Shugenja secrets, or just plain secrets?" Atsumori's eyebrows went up in curiosity. The way the rainbow stripes shifted when Izumi's fingers combed through reminded him of some tropical bird's plumage. The hand that had been adjusting his scarf drifted, without his quite thinking about it. to follow Izumi's hand... stopping a few inches short. They were still standing by the hostess stand in the restaurant, and anyway one didn't pet birds or foxes (or Foxes) without an invitation, however enticingly colorful. He cleared his throat. "Think that table's ready?" |

Atsumori's mind's eye briefly filled with the image of a whole planet of people with Izumi's rainbow hair, straight out of a bottle. It was a slightly overwhelming picture, he had to admit. "Basic at a place like this is already posh," he chuckled as he paced Izumi on their way over to the table. He didn't need to shorten his stride to match speeds; Atsumori had longer legs, but Izumi put in more steps per minute. "But then again, we're celebratin', aren't we?" |
