Tap, tap, clack, clack, clack, clack...

Chiruha remained at the Robotics Club shed for the afternoon as she found herself fixated on the efficiency module that didn't turn out as successful as the Club and Chief Kishi had hoped. She sat at one of the old terminals in the shed, a bulky computer with only green lettering on a black screen that might have been older than some grandparents.

The project had around six people working on it, each working on a different segment, and would likely create some room for efforts. She combed through each line of programming to see if there were flaws in the syntax written for the machine code.

As she dwelled on the problem, there were a group of kids who were content to use the space to catch up on their favourite renga in peace.

Nozomi stepped in with her drone, Central. It had not performed as well as she had hoped for. Perhaps it was not so suited for close range after all. "Am I in the right place?" she asked to no one in particular.

Some of the children looked up at the Lion who stepped in and gave her no consideration as they returned to reading their books. However, Chiruha turned around after a few keystrokes, facing Nozomi on her tall swivel chair. She looked at the drone, so that indicated she wasn't here for renga at least.

"Oh...maybe?" she said with a hopeful smile, hopping off her seat and presenting her a bow, "this one is Asako Chiruha, senior member of the Robotics Club here. Were you hoping to work on your drone, or maybe install some upgrades?"

Still smarting over her earlier disaster of a drone run, the Crane pilot came to the back to the dojo. Though this time she remained in her service uniform. Perhaps Ishiyo could work away some of the disappointment by working on her robot. Though it remained hers, she had left it in the care of the robotics club. Spotting her roommate and the Governor's daughter, she would give both of them a formal bow of greeting...but seemed more interested in her work then conversation.

Chiruha smiled more as there was a Crane who also appeared to their little corner of the dojo grounds. It seemed that the Robotics Rally was really attracting others to the hobby! She bowed politely to greet Ishiyo as well. "Good afternoon! This one is Asako Chiruha, senior member of the Robotics Club, welcome! Please feel free to use the space as you wish for your projects!"

"I wanted to hang out with other people who had similar interests in working on these things." She held hers out and tilted her head to look at it more. "Seems like it had some shortcomings last time."

Chiruha tilted her head at Nozomi and looked at the drone. "I think you did rather well in the even, Kitsu-san! Especially, if it's your first time constructing a drone? However, there is something we can certainly work on if you wish to improve on them. Were you thinking that maybe you wanted to run the rally again in the future with the same drone or did you have something in mind? Having more strength to do some lift is nice but maybe having a drone around who could consistently serve tea is more impressive! It would be the envy of the Club here."

It's more of habit, and perhaps a bit of nervous energy for dinner tonight that had Tetsu come back to second (third? The Crab had a lot of time logged) comes back."

"Tadaima" He greets the students, then noticing a group gathered.

Ishiyo blinked, "Ah my apologies, Daidoji Ishiyo, of the Crane Navy." She turned to the other two and gave them a weary smiled and nod. Then back to inspecting her drone.

As the Crab arrived she looked up again and gave him a nod as well.

"Ahh Daidoji-san." Tetsu offers a bow. "I have to say, your matchmaking hit the mark quite well. However, I don't suppose that you're here to gloat about that, no?"

Ishiyo looked up, "My what?" She seems genuinely confused for a moment then, "Ahh....well it was not my intention, I just wanted to recommend someone who could help with you-eh projects." The Crane manages a more sincere smile, "I suppose sometimes thinks just work out no?"

"It's ok. You don't have to play coy" Tetsu doesn't quite blush, but a small smile creeps over his face. "But yeah, Shizuku-san is good. Really good. Kicked my ass, I'll say that much"

"I am not being coy in that..." Ishiyo shrugged, "I know my clan's reputation but...I know only enough about the courts to ensure I do not misstep in them." She sighed, "You may not believe me but my motives were purely to connect to specialists who might find a use foh each otheh's skills."

Tetsu chuckles. "Well, I will have to take your word that you are not a mastermind, but yes, your clanmate is an excellent problem solver and has a swift mind. And is fun to share a meal with. But until then" Tetsu pulls Tachi and places him on the counter. "I do want to do some work with him"

"I had much the same in mind." Ishiyo points to her own well painted drone. "I must admit some surprise in my superficial knowledge of machinery and computers actually making something useful." She shrugs, "I guess all those times I spent studying the aircraft I fly, and watching the technicians at work, manifested itself in an odd manneh."

"It was the programming that set me back." Tetsu nods sagely. "Chiruha-san, do you have any receivers to let the drones talk to each other?"

Chiruha bowed politely to greet Tetsu when he stepped into the shed as well. The children weren't so receptive and merely scooted to take refuge under one of the work tables and using one of the hanging lamps as a light source for their continued reading.

"Talk to each other? Do you mean having them linked or so that they can transfer information between each other? You might have to manually link each drone together with the permission of their owners."

"Yeah...I'm wondering if we could do it wirelessly. That might be an interesting step. First would be receivers, and then the coding to support it."

"That would be a neat idea if anyone else is on board with it," she said as she looked to both the Crane and the Lion in the room. "The 10-86 chassis that was given to everyone at the competition might need their upgrades swapped out for that. They barely have bracket space for their single upgrade as is. You could consider going to a bigger upgrade if you want more brackets. They do have a few 30-86's that the advanced drone enthusiasts tend to use."

With the conversation moving away from her, Ishiyo returned to inspecting the drone. She was wondering what improvements to attempt on the little robot.
