Ishiyo studied the dilapidated pool with a neutral expression. It was clearly the worst such place she had found herself in...but considering her up bringing it was not all that much of an insult.

Still the Crane bushi had a workout routine and she intended to stick to it. After changing into her athletic swimwear and doing a few stretches the Daidoji maiden did a shallow dive into the pool and began swimming laps. Alternating stroke types every time she touched the edge of the pool.

The gym may be run down and bare-bones at best, Hide wasn’t just going not keep up with her work outs. Though, mixing bit up every now and then was beneficial for training. Donning her suit, she took to the pool.

Which was honestly kind of small. And in use. By a... Crane? Hide assumes as much. The appearance and the impeccable form scream Crane. Swimming form, that is. This Matsu knew how to spot those that have a lot of practice. “Those are some nice strokes.”

It was morning time and miai or not Satoru wouldn't disrupt his normal schedule. The dojo was an option but he felt more like simply working out rather than practicing forms or kata.

He walked in wearing a tank top and loose fitting shorts carrying a bag over his shoulder, the gym was rather meager, the spider may not be one for luxury but they were about providing the best equipment to aid in optimal performance. But the gym was serviceable for his purpose.

Satoru threw his bag in a locker and got to stretching preparing his body for a hard work out.

Ishiyo finished her circuit then swam over to an edge, the arrival of two more hadn't been entirely expected. It was, however, pleasing to see others felt the need to train this early in the morning. Holding on to the edge with one hand she took a moment to study the two before replying. The woman had spoken was obviously a bushi of some sort, probably another ground pounder but Ishiyo had seen some crewman that fit. The other...she wasn't sure on, he certainly looked to be in shape.

"Good morning to you both," Her voice was loud enough to carry to both. "I suppose you-eh here for the miai? In such as case allow me to introduce myself." She pushed herself up out the water and stood up, formal enough to make a bow, "Daidoji Ishiyo, Nikutai and Fighteh Pilot of the Crane Fleet Ai-eh Arm, Posted to the 312th Naval Figtheh Squadron aboard the light carrieh The Golden Heron. A pleasure to make you-eh acquaintances, minna-sama."

A pleased smile was set on her face while she waited for the two to respond.

Oh no. What was that accent she was sporting? Double oh no, she’s higher rank! The Matsu offered an awkward bow from her position at the side of the pool. “Y-yeah, pleased you make your acquaintance, Daidoji-sama. I’m Matsu Hide, Lion Navy. Not a glamorous pilot type like yourself, though. I protect assets and personnel.”

It’s weird to see a Matsu seem so off guard.

"Oh, a marine," Her voice was remarkably flat when she said that, a little of the disappointment at having now meet a Matsu in the navy but also not a pilot. "Yes I am familah with you-eh profession, my last mission before my tou-eh ended I had to escort you-eh Daidoji counteh-parts as thei-eh assault shuttles were breaching a pirate base."

She smiles at the memory and almost goes off onto a story from that battle, but that would seem rather rude. "I take it you are here for a swim as well." Her eyes went to the wetsuit and a small chuckle escaped her lips, "I am afraid you may find it a bit shallow, looks like you were expecting deepeh waters."

A bit of red tinged her cheeks as her wetsuit was pointed out. “Well, tactical swim gear. Need to reduce friction wherever. Improves times. Also my shoulders are pretty broad, it’s a pain finding a swimsuit that fits.” A small hint of a smirk as she inspected her wetsuit. “Plus, it’s surprisingly comfortable. It’s like wearing nothing at all.”

A shouting Crane from the pool wasn't quite what Satoru had expected. He raised an eyebrow but finished his stretch and walked over to the pool.

Now that he was closer and she was studying him he was indeed very fit. Not built like a Hida body builder or anything but he had very clear muscle definition and certainly no stranger to lifting weights . Also upon closer inspection flowing lines of jade were etched into his skin on his left shoulder from the base of his neck, covering his shoulder.

He bowed to the two "This one is Kuchiki Satoru doctor with Unit 137 Colonization and Settlement Medical Division. An honor to meet you both."

"I see, I see," Ishiyo ran a hand through her wet hair, "Though I must admit I prefeh resistance myself, but my concern is not really speed but fo-eh the exercise." Of course she was rather lankly built, fit but not the muscle of the Matsu or perhaps even the Kuchiki.

"Ah good morning Kuchiki-san, a doctoh you say?"

He nodded "Indeed Daidoji-sama, a surgeon to be specific as our unit name implies I assist in colonizing worlds, treating those injured or sickened while establishing the colony."

Kuchiki... Satoru? Where did Hide see that name? The Matsu was largely silent, trying to place that name. It was, recent, too. And then a look of realization crossed the Lion’s face. “Ah! That’s right! I saw your name during room assignment. We must have just missed each other when we woke up.”

"I bit of a dangerous job then, though of a different sort then mine and Matsu-san's" She brightens a little at the Matsu's comment, "Well it seems fortune has smiled up on you two, I unfortunately had to leave before my roommates had awakened. I prefeh an early morning workout, get you-eh body fully awake before tackling the rigohs of the day."

Satoru nodded adjusting his glasses "It seems you are correct, i didn't look closely at the rooming assignment saw a Matsu and a Bayushi on there. It is good to meet you, it seems we will be spending a decent amount of time together."



"Indeed. Though I went through basic like any bushi and learned which way to point my sidearm if necessary. Though truth be told I'd rather call upon the kami if I'm in a fight."

"Ah I had wondehed if you might possess more then surgical skill, rare to find one who does not possess the gift to speak with the kami in you-eh profession I imagine." She crossed her arms and shifted her footing a bit for more stability, it was rather slippery after all. "So how was you-eh last posting if I may ask?" Her questions was directed to both. Rather comically the Daidoji had assumed a pose reminiscent of a gunso interrogating their troops, the levity of which was diminished by her being in a swimsuit...

“Well, I have met the Osprey we are also rooming with. But not the Bayushi. I’ll have to introduce myself later.” She turned her attention back to the Daidoji and thought about her question for a good few moments. “My last posting? Hmmm. Uneventful. Lion space has been relatively quiet the past few months. Which is fine by me, cargo and crew are the first priority, y’know?”

"My last posting was on an as of yet unnamed world with a designation that is sadly classified right now. I did what I usually do treat people, study biological samples. This particular planet was interesting in that Gaki-do had heavily influenced some of the local wildlife leading to these large, lean, canine predators with oversized mouths and two sets of eyes one for day and one for night. Nasty bite."

Ishiyo was a bit surprised at the Lion's answer...then again most of her experience with the Lion had been through vids. But the other Matsu had seemed a bit more war like. "I suppose so Matsu-san, neveh good to lose valuable cargo. My own prioh posting was pirate hunting, though we were a bit more...proactive or so it sounds."

Her blue eyes flicked back to the Spider, "Oh? I will not press you for furtheh details then, but it does sound exciting to say the least. Seems you did at least come through it intact."

She debated if she should go ahead and mention her last posting, but it had been rather exciting for her and letting a story run wild while on slippery tiles could invite disaster. Besides no one had asked.

"We could perhaps discuss it more in depth some time. But what of your last posting Daidoji-sama? Must have a few exciting stories of your own being a pilot."

Ishiyo grinned suddenly looking like a preening bird, "Well I had one touh on The Golden Heron with the 312th Naval Fighteh Squadron, 312NFS if that is alright, but it was ratheh exciting." She shifted her weight and let her hands drop, only to grab them behind her back. It looked like the Crane was restraining herself lest she burst with excitement.

"The carrieh had been tasked with proactively sweeping ou-eh trade routes for pirates, some ratheh well equipped and violent lot had set up along one of ou-eh more active routes. The Admiralty decided that offense was the betteh course of action. Spent the betteh part of yeah hunting them down. Several minor actions, ended the campaign as an Ace. Six kills, three in battle!" Yep she was getting worked up alright, but then the Crane relaxed. "Ah well...I good go on all day on such things, and it would be a waste of ou-eh exercise time."

"Everyone has settled in yes? I know there was little time to see the city yesterday."

Pilots always had such interesting stories. And they also love telling them. Thankfully, Hide was easy to amuse. She watched the Crane tell her story and listened with interest. “How long have you been a pilot, Daidoji-sama?”

“As far as being settled... Not quite. Delays in transit meant I took the midnight shuttle here. Need to get my bearings still. Where better to start than finding the gym?”
