Long in a good way? Oh, that made Hide a little red in the face, which in turn made her really need a sip of her drink. But it was nice that Mumei was supporting her like that, what a good friend. Who was singing! She wasn’t as terrible as she said she would be, at the very least. It was also a good chance to lean over to Eriko, whispering just loud enough to be heard clearly, “How’s your arm feeling?”

All the while, she couldn’t help but feel for Jin. That poor man was a mess, maybe drinking so much wasn’t a great idea?

With that point in mind it was an absolutely great moment for the already drunk Kitsune to bounce in. Literally bounce off the door frame with a silly grin and drop into one of the seats.

"HIall!!!!"

Eriko was keen enough to catch the bit of red from Hide's cheeks. "Hey, what's the matter with you? Have you been drink before you got here then? I meant the karaoke but I guess they are going to kick us out eventually."

She crossed her legs and lent an ear to hear Hide. "It hurt something fierce when I disinfected it but I slapped a cool bandage and I think I'm going to be okay. You?"

"Hey, Kitsune-sama...did you get into the well?" she said with a dip of her head.

“This was my first sip tonight.” Hide looked a bit confused, the color now gone from her cheeks. She rose a hand to her chest, where she had gotten hit pretty bad the day prior. “I wrapped myself up, but Mumei-san is my roommate. She decided I needed healing and did her shugenja thing. Though, it left me with a pretty neat scar, not gonna lie.”

Izumi’s magnificent entrance brought out a huge smile from Hide. His antics were always amusing. “Kitsune-sama! I’d give that jump a solid eight out of ten.”

"Pretty handy to have a roommate like that but I suppose it's been pretty handy to see your roommates at all! I've been mostly ducking out at first light and sneaking in back in the middle of the night. I can't say I've made much of an impression around here...not that it bothers me all that much. I think my impression making days are going to take a backseat now," she shrugged.

"Sound like to me that maybe Kitsune-sama can go after Ujina-sama," she snickered before looking to Hide, "Unless you want to go after?"

“Which room you stayin’ in? I got stuck with good ol’ unlucky four.” Something about that seemed to annoy Hide quite a bit. “At least your roommates don’t question it when you they don’t see you in your room. Mumei-san grilled me a little because I was gone all night.”

At Eriko’s question, Hide thought it would be kind of polite to let Izumi pick. Her attention went over towards the very drunk and extremely hyper Fox. “Kitsune-sama, wanna go after or should I? I’m fine either way, honestly.”

"...Nine? One of the last ones down the hallway. I know I'm rooming with Tsuruchi-sama and a Spider magistrate. I've heard some rooms have been having parties and get togethers but a shame that mine aren't really into that. Then again, I don't know if I'd always be there either," she gave a shrug.

“Spider and a Mantis? Oooof. I can see why you don’t go back often. Surrounded by enemies on all sides.” Hide took a long drink from her glass as she glanced between Eriko and the others present. “Stipends come in tomorrow. Got any plans for it?”

Mumei just offers a bit of side-eye "Can't a roomie hope there was a *fun* reason for staying out all night?" She figured she'd steer clear of the non-fun ones for now. Stomping on the attempt at a fun mood wasn't going to help much of anything.

And then the Fox richocets in. Laughing, Mumei rolls a hip to make sure he's got room for the landing. "Dang, when you come that pre-loaded, how'm I supposed to catch up, Kitsune-san?" She does start working on it with her single cup of boozey catalyst.

"They weren't exactly that bad, truth be told, gave me some strange idea about dressing up," she chuckled as she crossed her arms, "truth be told, I had some strange ideas of dressing up too. Here I thought that dressing up more geeky would get you better help at the stacks but I think most of the Phoenix here are more rugged than bookish from what I've gathered."

“Mumei-san! I swear I will wrestle you if that gets brought up again!” Hide called out, in jest of course.

She then turned her attention back to Eriko, her curiosity piqued. “Frontier types. Plus, this planet is oppressively humid. And hot. And it smells like decay every other day. That’s bound to build a hardy character among the populace.”

"Asako Mai-chin-sama seemed kinda bookish, honestly. But yeah, frontier worlds tend to be kind of tough. At least that my take from seeing the ones manning their stations."

She offers a toothy grin, "Seeee...I knew you'd punch me at some point Hide-san. Mostly because I'm the worst roommmate, and the room is unlucky."

Eriko finally took a sip from her drink and tilted her head slightly at Hide, "Sound like a story worth sharing. If you're going to talk round it, you may as well talk about it now."

Mumei looks a touch sheepish at that, actually. "Hide was a little put out that I sent you some kind of message, because ...I don't know...people are just supposed to mystically intuit how people feel instead of saying things with actual words and stuff." She sips her drink "I mean, there might be some way to convince the kami to do that, but it's not part of my studies."

“Wait, you actually sent that?!” Hide looked wide-eyed at Mumei, her face turning all kinds of red before somehow going the opposite direction and losing all color whatsoever. “I thought you were just messing with me...”

In an attempt to calm down, Hide took in a deep breath, “Okay, Mumei-san, I wasn’t upset with you because of that. I was upset because you tried provoking me or something of the like. Like you were expecting me to take a swing at you when you just patched me up.”

She shrugs, shoulders staying up. "I did call you," she glances around, "names...so...punching's been a common response to that in my experience."

Glancing to Eriko, she adds. "She did kind of pass out pretty much immediately after. So sorry if I gave the impression she knew I sent it...doesn't sound like she was particularly all there last night."

. . . to Jin . . .

. . . to Mumei . . .

. . . and back to Hide . . .

Hide felt really bad about Jin... But she had to focus on the people in front of her right now. So she turned to the very drunk and extremely hyper Fox, handing him the mic. “Your turn, Kitsune-sama.”
