"We should drag him along for a pilot's night then. I've had the chance to meet him too, over at Kayama. Seems decent enough, but... eh..." Firefly. They had almost nothing of interest. Not even Shugenja among their ranks. "Should probably bring a healer in case of bad luck too. A shugenja might be able to ask the kami for aid in finding your sidearm."

Satisfied with the pile of clothing, she handed it over to Yul. "Go and try those on."

Chuckling, Yul accepted the pile of clothes. "Yeah, a pilot's night sounds like a good idea. You, me, that fancy Crane pilot, the Akodo..." He smirked. "Maybe sit you and him next to each other, see what happens."

He paused as he was about to walk off, turning back to Hyeon-ju with a frown. "Did you have a healer in mind?"

"Well, you seem to know one already, but maybe not expose her to more danger so soon?" she gave him a sharp look, herding him towards the changing room.

"There's Kitsune Izumi... Kitsu Nozomi... Kuchiki Satoru... Well, not sure how healing-focused two of those are though."

"Okay, fine, I'm going." Yul grumbled, disappearing into the dressing room. For a while, there was just the rustling of cloth.

He stuck his head out, bare shoulders visible. "It's... the danger's part of it. But there's more. It's complicated." He vanished again. "Kitsu Nozomi might be fine. She's a brainy sort, too."

A few more moments, and Yul stepped out, spreading his hands to show one of the outfits. "Well?"

"She seems a smart cookie, yes. Though she also wants me to take her to dinner... hope she won't be disappointed if we invite her out to look for a lost gun."

As Yul stepped out, she looked him over carefully. "This might be the most fashionable I've seen you ever." Stepping closer, she straightened the outfit out a little bit. "Very nice for casual, but also to impress. If you're going on a casual date, like to the club for dancing, or just to grab tea together, this is nice."

Yul's lips pressed together a moment. "Dancing, huh? I mean, I'm not worried about impressing her. I think we're already passed that." He grinned. "I'd just really like to impress her, you know?"

He started to vanish back into the changing room, then stopped, frowning. "Yeah... I'm not sure about what Kitsu-san might want. She seems pretty shy, but..." He chewed his lip for a moment, then shook his head. "Nevermind."

Back into the changing room, more rustling cloth, and Yul came out again, wearing a new outfit.

She waited patiently him for to return back up, and gave a very approving nod. "Relaxed, but also simple elegance. Good everyday wear."

Already she had ideas for how to accessorize it, but Hyeon-ju figured that Yul would put his own touched on it. The neutral colors made it easy to dress up or down.

"Nothing wrong with continuing to impress someone you've decided on. I think that's just part of courtship. How does she feel about you, by the way...?"

"This is everyday wear?" Yul waved his arms experimentally. "Okay, I guess. Huh." He shrugged. "But do I really need anything else for everyday wear? I've got pants. Shirts. Tank-tops." Fashion was not Yul's greatest strength.

Yul smiled, just a little, but with obvious energy. "Hey, I said we had a connection. I didn't just mean I have a connection to her." He grinned, shaking his head. "When we first met, we actually bumped into each other in the street. Since then, it's like we've been moving on the same perfect wavelength. Or maybe to the same rhythm." He took a breath. "It's really something."

"And at least one of those have been ripped up, and bloodied, no? And you should have something nice to put on for when you take her to a fancy place for dinner. Ladies like it when a guy puts some effort into dressing up for them."

She brushed imperceptable dust off his shoulders.

"I see... good. We'll try to secure that match for you then, Yul-san. I'll be meeting with Yasuki Nishida later tonight, and if he suggest you for a match, I'll refuse it. Not that I'm too worried though... they haven't seemed to pursue any mirror matches, and Hida Akemi is their only female member here. But well, that woman seems more interested in chasing Spiders."

"I know." Yul said ruefully. "I already disappointed Murame Shoan that way." He sighed. "On Shinjo's Grace, a leather jacket was the thing for any occasion."

He raised an eyebrow as Hyeon-ju brushed his shoulder, tilting his head to watch with amusement. "Hey." He said looking back at her. "Thanks. I really mean it." He looked at her a moment, his gaze fond. First time for everything. He smiled. "Now we just gotta pick someone for you, huh?"

Yul shrugged. "Akemi's alright. I don't know. Maybe if things had been different." He shrugged again. "What else are you guys gonna talk about, you think?"

It seems that Hyeon-ju wasn't the only one who was brushing shoulders with Yul. There was a samurai who didn't have any mons of note, likely a ronin, who almost bumped into Yul as he meandered around the department store. He did manage to back up in time, showing a rather unapologetic smile as he raised his hands up to show he meant no harm.

He gave him a quick bow. "Sorry 'bout that, samurai-sama. I'm just trying to find a way out."

Yul tensed a little as the stranger drew near, but then relaxed as he stepped back.

"No problem." Yul said smiling casually. "Exit's that way. Oh, Shinjo Yul." After pointing, Yul introduced himself with a quick bow. It seemed like the polite thing to do.

"Eh, thanks," the man nodded twice at instructions and went on his way without further words and only smug swagger to show.

Hyeon-ju narrowed her eyes at the stranger just happening to bump into Yul, fixing him with a cold but silent glare.

. . .

Just to be sure, she checked for her own wallet and personal belongings.

Nothing was stolen, thankfully.

Yul looked at Hyeon-ju, shrugging. "That was kinda weird." He said. "Ummm... where were we?"

Wasp was still scowling.

"... Check your things. Never know with such types."

Rolling his eyes, Yul checked his things, sticking his head into the dressing room as well.

"I just don't trust types like that," she said, not quite sneering though. Probably was looking for an easy target or something, this was too much of a fancy store for what seemed to be a ronin.

"Everything in order?"

"Right." Yul said through slightly clenched teeth. "You decided he didn't belong. Good thing you were there to show him his place." He stepped into the changing room, pulling the curtain shut with an angry snap.

When he came out a short time later, his expression was back to its usually affable cheerfulness. "How about this?" Yul said, spreading his arms, turning in a circle to show of his last outfit.
