He smiled, looking at her. "Maybe you're not."

Yul shrugged. "The first time I left home, I mean, really left home, was for the Academy. I changed so much just in my first few weeks there." His smile grew a little wistful. "Sometimes I wonder if I'm really remembering kid Yul right, or if my memory's been changed by all the stuff I've done."

"I didn't change much until that shuttle maybe.." she said, furrowing her brow as she thought. Taking a sip of her drink again. "Well," she glanced just to the right of him, "one moment changed.. everything before that," she said, looking more directly at him.

Yul blinked. There was the clear sense that Ichika was about to say something very significant to her.

"Yeah? What was that?" Yul asked. He gave her one of his gentle smiles, nodding encouragingly.

Bringing her hand up Ichika brushed the hair that fell down in front of her face away, revealing her eye-patch more fully through the action. Without saying anything she just looked to him with a neutral expression, certain he would understand.

Yul's lips parted, then shut. "Ichika-san..."

He leaned forward, just a little, smiling gently. His hands, still on his cup, bringing them closer to hers, although still distant. His smile turned almost wistful. "I'm glad that we had the chance to be kind to each other. Right from the first, I could tell there was something special about you."

He turned over one hand. "Let's keep in touch, huh? No matter how all this turns out?"

"Mm," she vocalized her agreement, letting the hair fall back down into place. With a soft if lessened smile, "I would like that a lot, Yul-san," she nodded. Furrowing her brow a little, she seemed to think for a moment. Sat up in her seat a little more and parted her lips slightly but nothing. Not at first, but then she found something, "I'm glad we wound up on the same flight down," she said, the same soft but lessened smile.

Following her queues, Yul straightened as well. "Me too, Ichika-san. Me too."

He sat back, adopting a more casual sprawl. "So, hey, did you have a good time with that motorcycle ride the other night?"

There was a flash of recognition, she glanced away briefly. Nodding she settled back, looking toward Yul, "You mean the first night you came to save me from my horrible day?" she asked with a soft if a little strained smile.

"Yeah." Yul said, smiling. "That's the one I was thinking of. It was fun. I came and got you. You had that cute outfit on. I drove a little fast." He looked at her a moment, his lips quirked.

The smile softened. "And then we were in that garden. It was really peaceful there." He shrugged. "I don't know. I was just thinking about it. I think I remember that one, more than the shuttle ride. But if we hadn't met on the shuttle ride, we probably wouldn't have done that." Yul shrugged. "I guess fate has a hand in how these things turn out."

"I remember that one a lot too, more than the other," she said, glancing down as she shifted forward toward her drink again. Taking a long drink she looked up again, "One of the first ti-" she twisted her bottom lip. Shaking her head, "But, yea, we wouldn't have gotten there without that first meeting though," she said with a soft, distracted kind of smile.

"One of the first what?" Yul asked gently.

He took a slow sip of his tea. It was getting low, but not quite empty. It just seemed like the safe thing to do.

"One of the first," she glanced to her drink, "times I've ever seen a giant mushroom like they have there, yea?" she said, half-chuckling as she took a sip of her drink. Just a bit behind him she was probably somewhere near the half-way point but seeing his she took a bit more of a drink.

"Oh." Yul said. He smiled, but there was a telltale crease in his forehead. "Yeah. They sure are strange, huh?"

He sighed, then gave her one of his gentle smiles. "I remember you telling me about the different people who were interested in you, there. And I remember thinking..." Yul chewed his lip for a moment, "-that I was really glad for you."

"I was very surprised," she said, sheepishly. Leaning just a little over the drink. "Coming here.." she glanced down and shook her head, "I really didn't expect anyone to be interested in me. At least.. not right away, yea? Well.." she said, reaching up and fiddling with the straw a little. "I'm really glad you have your own suitors, yea?" she said with a soft, strained smile.

Yul chuckled softly. "Seems like a lot of people were impressed by you right off." His dark brown eyes seemed to glint at her for a moment.

Slowly he nodded. "Yeah. I'm glad too." His lips curled up, just a little.

He shook his head. "But hey. Just because we've each got our own suitors doesn't mean I can't come swoop you away on my bike when you need it. Just let me know, okay?"

"Mhm," she nodded, lightly. A soft sound to keep away some more revealing words. Taking a long drink she finished her own and then pushed it a little off to the side. Looking across the table at him she didn't quite smile, nor frown, nor did she just appear neutral.

Yul cleared his throat. "Well... let me know, huh?" He took a long drink from his own tea, finishing it off.

After a few moments, he offered her a smile. "Well... that's milk tea. What did you think?"

"I will," she said, a quick and certain nod. As she shifted her hands down the table a little more she joined one over the other at the edge by her. With a nod "It was good!" she smiled. "Thank you for bringing me here, Yul-san," she said, another smile to replace the other.

Yul smiled then, sighing with covert relief. "Anytime. I'm glad you liked it. But hey, maybe next time we could do tea. I've heard Crane really know their tea, and I kinda, well, don't." Yul gave a sheepish shrug.

He smiled again. "It's getting late. Let me walk you back?"

"Sure," she nodded, a soft smile. Slipping up from her seat she took her purse firmly into both hands, linked in front of herself. Stepping over as Yul would surely come out of his seat so they could walk together.

"Sure you know where you're going?" she asked, a little smirk with the question.
