Ishiyo turned back, "...the are a complicated lot it seems." She smiles, "But then again, for the Spider I would be the great catch no?"

"Well, I know of only one of them here that could take you with him." Hayato replied with a smirk. "Though i suppose a match is no small matter either."

Ishiyo sighed, "...yes, I will not lie I do not wish to join the Spider. I am not sure I truly wish to leave the Crane but...gilded cages." She smiled wearily, "What about you? Seeking to remain a Mantis?"

"It's a bit complicated? Well a little, my father would like me to join another clan. But I'm hesitant, my profession isn't exactly the most celebrated in the Empire."

"As for gilded cages." He reached over to flick her on the arm. "Isn't it half about who you share them with?" His lips curled into a slight smile. "And on the edge of the Empire, there are likely places you can open the door if you're willing. Not that I'm suggesting it."

Ishiyo shot him a glare and rubbed her arm, "Were it that easy."

"...given some of your other reactions I take it you and he have...difficulties." She frowned and her eyes grew sympathetic, "Forgive my prying."

He stuck his tongue out in return, though he did add a moment later. "I suppose you know it better then me."

"We've touched on the subject enough that there is no need to apologize, Daidoji-san." Hayato replied with a easy smile. "I guess its just that I'm not the golden boy he wanted? He's a business man and wanted me to follow in his footsteps, but I'm just not built that way. We get along well enough but I get the feeling he's disappointed. Though it might just be me feeling like I failed. He'd like me to marry out to help clear the way for my sisters, since they both followed in his footsteps, and one of them is set to take over his position."

"I suppose it is an accident of birth then," Ishiyo smile returned, comforting, "I only get to be a pilot because I was the last of five. Fatheh has his heiress in my sisteh and his spare in my brotheh. He could let the youngest indulge in heh own passions. Even if he does not fully approve of them."

"...I kind of think he wants to use me to sell more of 'his' fighteh plane though. Eveh the shrewd business man."

He wasn't going t ocall the Crane lucky, even if part of him felt that way. "I don't think I had many of my own passions at a young age.. Well, other then trying to please my father, which is why I picked shooting." His lips curled into a smirk. "I won't say it's the only thing I'm good at, but it's what I've always been best at. Even if I am no match for some of the masters I have seen at school." It would come though with practice. "It was just the best chance I had to recieve his praise." A soft sigh escaped his lips and he shook his head.

"It's radiant arms on my end, and I wouldn't quite put it past him to have similar goals in mind." His father was nothing if not ambitous after all.

"So Tsuruchi-san has something of his own gilded cage." Ishiyo blinked, "The weight of expectation can be suffocating. My eldest sisteh handles it well but I can tell it gets to heh sometimes. But she is a much more willful person then I."

"Sometimes one wishes theih parents would just be happy foh them."

"I thought I'd dropped enough hints for you to notice." He replied his tome a bit teasing. "Though I suppose mine is nowhere near as demanding as yours." His wmile was warm as he turned towards her. "You're right there on both accounts, and I hope at the end of this I somehow manage to achieve that.

He sighed sofly, and pushed himself up to a sitting position, his lips curling into a wry smirk. "You know if we keep on like this I'm gonna have to insist we meet up for drinks. Which wasn't wasn't exactly in the plan for today." He added, eyes shifting towards hers for a moment before they drifted down towards her navel.

Ishiyo had worn a one piece suit, but laying flat he can probably notice the tiny bulge where her navel is..."Hmm" She raises her brows and rests a hand on her navel. "I would hate to disrupt you-eh plans." She chuckled and smirked back, "Perhaps drinks tomorrow then?"

"If not then the day after." He said with a smile. "I'm supposed to go try to hunt down some of those creatures that killed the Crab tomorrow. I'm not quite sure how long it will take me." Hopefully not too terribly long.

With confirmation that her belly button was indeed an outie, he let his gaze drift to the sky. "Apparently I'm supposed to do more or the same today now that I think about it. A unicorn was mauled by one, and left behind his side arm in his haste to get away from it. It's his hope I think to retrieve it."

Ishiyo's expression turned serious, "Do be careful out there, I find you rather charming and already lost one possible friend to those brutes earlieh in the miai." She sat up, "The beasts are highly aggressive by all appearances, and tough besides it seems."

"Always, Daidoji-sama." Hayato replied, his finger moving to rub at the scar over his hip. Or almost always. Reaching his hand up he ran it through his still damp hair. "I have drinks to look forwards to after all."

His tone turned serious though as his eyes looked towards the Crane. "I have heard as much though, and I am a bit apprehensive. But they have been a danger to those in this miai and while a few less of them likely won't change that... Well, perhaps some of the guests might feel a bit more at ease."

Ishiyo nodded, "I just worry...death at a miai was disconcerting, even if the planet is still mostly untamed." She sighed, "I really should not be, I have seen you-eh scores on the martial events. Really the driftehs should be in terroh of you."

It wasn't exactly a bad thing when an attractive woman was worried for you, not that he would willing admit it.

Still his words brought a smile to his lips and and he couldn't help but let out an experimental. "Boo!" His hands rasing up like claws.

He chuckled and shook his head a moment later. "I don't that will work on them."

"You should probably stand up talleh and hold you-eh hands up higheh, make yourself look biggeh." Ishiyo smirked and gave a small chuckle. "I know a lot of creatures do that...so maybe it will work on the driftehs."

"I'd think I'd probably make sure it worked on Crane first." He countered, though he didn't attempt it. Yet.

"Got to work my way up you know." Hayato finished with a chuckle, kicking his feet a few times in the water.

Ishiyo pressed her lips together into a thin line and glared at him...it was clear she was not really that angry, the expression more cute then actually scary. "Do you think I am that easy to scare. Tsuruchi-san?"

It was hard not to crack into a smile but he raised an eyebrow and studied her for a moment. "Under normal circumstances? Not at all. I think i can figure out a few things that will help me manage it though." His tone was serious but his eyes were perhaps a tad mischievous as his grey eyes met hers.
