Many warriors had different routines to prepare themselves for a confrontation. Hyeon-ju felt that after yesterday's mourning, it was time to go on the offensive today.

Makeup applied with the same seriousness she would've given to warpaint and dressed in her uniform, the Utaku acted swiftly while for a moment there was only her in the room itself.

She had bought two plushies last night, for the sole purpose of gifting them to her remaining room-mates. And if she didn't make it through today... well, call it setting one's affairs in order before going off to war.

One unicorn-plushie with purple mane was placed on Ichika's bed, and another unicorn-plushie but with a pink mane was placed on Ryuu's bed.

At that moment, Ryuu walked in. His armor kit in hand, his own preparations well in hand. "Utaku-san." He saw her, and bowed. "I did not mean to intrude. I thougbt... everyone would have already have left by now."

"Daigotsu-san," she seemed equally surprised that he was there as well. Then she noticed the armor kit...

"... Let me guess, you have some business outside the city today too?"

He looked down to his kit, then back up to her. "I do." Ryuu nodded. He looked to the plushies left on the beds. A deep breath, steeling himself.

"I will do what I can to not inflict another funeral upon you." He stood at attention, setting his kit down. "I am glad to see you, though. Before business."

"A samurai's life is to live three feet from death, Daigotsu-san," she said, stoic and calm in her tone. I just wished it hadn't happened so suddenly to Chiyoko.

"But... I'm glad to see you too, before this day starts fully. I have some... justice to dispense as well."

"That is true. Still. To force you to mourn yet again, during what is supposed to be a happy occasion... is cruel. Even for a Spider." He smiled somewhat. "That was a joke."

"Then allow me to wish you good hunting, Utaku-san. I will add that goal to my prayers this morning."

She gave a rueful smile in return, lifting her hands to make sure the buttons on her sleeves were correct.

"Thank you. I too will pray for your safe return as well... I think Doji-san will be very upset if you do not return."

There was a slight flush. "I do not intend on making Doji-san upset. I swear it." He picked up the kit again, taking it to his bunk. He looked to the plushie.

"You are too kind, with your gift. I know I should be refusing it twice, but considering our business needs today... I gratefully accept it."

"Ah... well, I had planned to leave them there to avoid the gift-giving ritual," she admitted with sheepish honesty. "I've never been particularly good at doing that well."

She gave him a curious if more serious look soon enough. "How goes the miai for you? Settled on a choice?"

"It will be out of my hands." There was a look to Ichika's bunk, and a slow blink. He smiled, looking to her. "There are three I would be happy to share in duty with. But I will do all I can no matter who chooses me."

"And you? I would be disappointed in others if they were not fighting for your hand."

She considered saying it was a blessing to not having to worry about making a choice, but that seemed... cruel. Ryuu had been doing his best this miai, as she had.

"Ah..." Hyeon-ju opened her mouth to speak, then fell silent for a moment. "I suppose it is complicated. Matsu Chiyoko-san was... my first choice, and I hers from what I understand. It's put matters in a bit of a situation, but, after today, I will focus more on that again."
