These past few days had been so intense that the roomies had barely found time to talk to each other. Koseki decided to change all of that. With a polite note left on each pillow he had asked his fellow Room 6 guests to join him for a movie night.

Fatal Scripture sounded like the kind of film that should be watched in the dark with good company. He could arrange the former, and hoped for the latter. A couple of bottles of sake and some fine stackable ought to help at least. Truth be told, he didn't really care about the film, but it seemed like a good enough excuse to bring them all together.

As he waited for the others to show he tapped out a drum beat. It was Darkest Night by Shiro Inu l, for those who knew their rock.

Nozomi carried along her plush, a bounty earned from earlier. It was almost like a baby for her. "Has the miai treated you well so far?" she asked as part of idle conversation.

The broad Moto strode into the room carrying a small plush Otori on his shoulder. "Hotaru-san! Kitsu-san! Good to see you!" he boomed as he strode to his bedside, placing the bird reverently pillowside and plopped down next to it.

The final member of Room 6 from down the hall arrived. Ishiyo yawned slightly as she entered, carrying no bounty from the day. "Oh...it's good to see everyone for more then a few moments. My apologies for disappearing so much." She checked her bed and smiled at seeing Inu-tai was still present.

"Kitsu-San, Moto-San, Daidoji-sama, good evening!" He flashed a brief smile. "All in the same space with our eyes open for a change. Can I interest you in sake?"

He tapped the bottle. It wasn't anything fancy but it would taste just fine.

"It is only my second planet Kitsu-san, so every day I learn something new about nature. It is...quite different to what I am used to." Understatement of the day.

"Good to see you too Moto-san, and I see we have two new bunkmates." He raised his cup to the plushies.

"No apology necessary Daidoji-sama. Although I'm still keen to talk shop when you're ready." He switched his densai to the movie but kept it paused until they were ready.

"SAKE!? Don't mind if I do!" Ganbold laughed brightly as he patted the plush bird. "Yep, Oharu-san has been my steadfast companion during my long walk of despair from the Moshi-Moshi dance machine to these here quarters." He offered a seated bow to the Daidoji. "Nice to more formally make your acquaintance, by the way, Daidoji-san. It seems Inu-tai is also quite good company!"

The Crane smiled at the compliment to her plushie, "Inu-tai has been with me since I was a little girl." She resisted the urge to give the stuffed dog a hug...for now.

Her blue eyes turn to Koseki and she smiles pensively, "...my apologies Hotaru-san, I still owe you the stories of my last touh of duty. And to learn of you-eh own encountehs with pirates."

She blinks then stands a little straighter, "Oh...yes, ehh. I am Daidoji Ishiyo, Nikutai in the Crane Fleet Ai-eh Arm, 312th Naval Fighteh Squadron, last stationed about The Golden Heron. There formal introduction done. Inu-tai can only communicate so much." The Crane snatches up her pajamas.

"If it is alright, I am going to change first. Then try some of you-eh sake, Hotaru-san."

"It's funny that the most I've seen of all of you so far is when you've been asleep," Nozomi said to the group. She smiled awkwardly.

"I'm glad you've been able to learn more while you've been here," she said to Koseki, "Knowledge is quite important indeed!"

Ishiyo gave a reassuring nod to the Kitsu, "It has been a busy time so fah, foh all of us I would imagine. Between the sights of this world, the Phoenix's schedule, and of course the main purpose of this whole thing: meeting people." The Crane slips into the private changing room for a second, reemerging with her folded casual clothes and wearing her pajamas.

"Interestin' that pirate fightin's somethin' we all kinda get involved in...except Kitsu-san, of course." Ganbold tilted his head. "Awful lot of pirates in the galaxy." Ganbold nodded seriously.

"Oh you are a Marine yes?" Ishiyo could spot them a mile away at this point, "My last battle was spent clearing the way and escorting Marine breachehs. Not much on the tactics of boarding, but I know it gets to be a nasty business."

"Hah! Yes, though it sometimes depends what mons that pirates have filed off their gear just how nasty it gets! The new self-destruct capabilities built into some of their ships have cause us a bit of bother as of late."

"Yah, the Marines stormed a supply base but the pirate officehs managed to hold them out of operations long enough to burn theih databanks and commit suicide." Ishiyo's lips pressed into a line, "May Emma-O provide the judgment theih were to cowardly to face in the mortal realm."

"The Iron Warriohs did take the reactoh before the pirates could sabotage it though, so we recovered much of the base."

The Kitsu glanced at her other roommate as the two marines exchanged war stories. She then rubbed her glasses on a cleaning cloth. "Pirates are quite terrible," she commented with a slight smirk.

"Pirates are the worst!" Koseki nodded firmly as he returned from his bunk with an otori plushie. "Heh. Looks like we've got ourselves a squad...or whatever the plural of birbs is."

He nodded at the Kitsu. "I'm pretty used to only knowing people thanks to sleep patterns. When we're out in deep space it's pretty common. Shared berths, clock on and off. Means you get used to staying tidy. Thankfully no-one here snores..." A glance and grin at Ganbold. "...too much. Oh, I met one your cousins last night, Moto Ruhe-san. He's incredible, what a talent!"

He followed the pirate conversation with obvious interest. "Its no problem Daidoji-sama, I expect you've been in high demand for meetings! As for pirates, I've fought 'em in space and on ships and stations." Koseki made the universal sign for pew pew.

"We've had to learnt to hot-foot it off the larger ships once they engage the sequence, because the overrides are often configured in such a way that you can't reliably reach both sets and coordinate engaging them in time. We've lost more than one squad in the attempt."

Ganbold shrugged. "A bad business."

But he brightened a bit at the mention of Ruhe. "Ah! Ruhe-san! Yes, he is a mighty musician, and a great driver as well. I heard a great deal about his prowess at the racing game from gobsmacked Phoenix all over the arcade."

"Oh is that the man who delivered the impromptu music session last night?" Ishiyo asked, taking the path that led away from battle. "That was not exactly my sort of music but he is quite talented regardless." She turned back to the Moto, "I actually chanced upon you-eh two pilots yesterday and flew with Utaku-san earlieh. They are an amusing paih."

"I agree! Yul-san is a very kind man, and has such energy! And Hyeon-ju-san is so very capable! I find them a great help here."

"And I have also met several of your cousins as well," Ishiyo nods to the Kitsu, "I think perhaps even all of them. Akodo-sama, Matsu Chiyoko-san, and Matsu Hide-san. And yourself of course."

"Yes, Moto-san is incredibly skilled! He just improvised that song. I was already a fan of Moto Death Metal but wow! He...ah, asked if I'd like to play drums with him." There was a clear sense of excitement from the Firefly. "I guess I'll have to up my game."

There was a bit a of scowl at the mention of the racing game. "Stupid queue... Anyway, I've been spending quite a lot of time with my fellow minor clanners. We pooled our tickets and picked up a few things. Like this little guy." He waved one wing of the otori plushie as if it were a puppet.
