Lodged on the nice secluded bench he'd found the other day, Ruhe fooled around on his horsehead fiddle, skipping across a certain brand of metal repertoire, following his thoughts and mood swings.

Gardens weren't normally Tenma's thing. Having grown up in the country, there wasn't anything especially special about plants to her. They just were things, part of the landscape. They could be beautiful like a bouquet of flowers, sure, but that was more about the sentiment of the person giving them than the flowers themselves, like most good gifts. Still, she'd had a busy afternoon, and coming back to a dorm with a broken air conditioner and no windows in her room made her want to get out.

She left her armor and such in the room, wearing her uniform sans overcoat or rifle and such. Walking amongst the gardens for the first time, she looked for a fountain or something to sit by and relax.

That is probably where the music got her, both emotional and gritty, from just beyond the nearby ticket, though she'd need a moment to find a pathway to wherever the melody was being produced.

Pathways were never Tenma's concern, especially since she wasn't one for standing on protocol. When she was dressed to move no less. She at least thought better of stepping in the flower beds, but danced across the grasses and even parkoured into a tree like thing and onto one of the sky-lilies to another tree. Nimbly leaping between the branches, she found herself above the music, squatting on a branch and looking down.

The musician was a familiar one, and it looked like he didn't hear her approach over his music, as it didn't skip a beat. His bow was moving across the fiddle's strings with frenetic speed at times, or slowed down into controlled melancholic pace at times. For that one, he also sang.

Quote:
Love me forever, or not at all
End of our tether, backs to the wall
You give me your hand, don't you ever ask why
Promise me nothing, live 'til we die

Everything changes, it all stay the same
Everyone guilty, no one to blame
Every way out, brings you back to the start
Everyone dies to break somebody's heart

We are the system, we are the law
We are corruption, worm in the core
One of another, laugh 'til you cry
Faith unto death or a knife in the eye

Everything changes, it all stay the same
Everyone guilty, no one to blame
Every way out, takes you back to the start
Everyone dies to break somebody's heart

Oh, my lost come and take me
Love me or leave me, tell me no lies
Ask me no questions, send me no spies
You know love's a thief, steal your heart in the night
Slip through your fingers, you best hold on tight

Everything changes, it all stay the same
Everyone guilty, no one to blame
Every way out, brings you back to the start
Everyone dies to break somebody's heart
Oh, my lost come and take me

The song drew to a close and Ruhe made a break, stretching against the bench and deeply breathing in oxygen-saturated air... probably along some local pollen, because a powerful sneeze followed that stirred the foliage at his feet.

"Kami bless you, Moto-san," the voice from above him finally said, straight from the leaves of the strange alien tree. Not that they would hide the black, bodysuit clad Scorpion above him if he looked.

He looked up quickly, to match the image with the voice he recognised, a wide smile emerging in the process, right after a face rub. "Thanks, Bayushi-sama! I see you got bored with walking on the ground!"

"I did, hai. I like heights, especially when they get me where I need to go faster. Not too many opportunities to parkour around here either. ...how are you doing?"

She looked down from a branch, squatting on the balls of her feet and balanced there like a bird.

"I'd say grand! I discovered this place just yesterday, good for music-making., decided to return." He then recalled his conversation with Hyeon-ju. "I've been actually thinking about you quite a bit and *poof* you appear. It's rather amazing." He smirked, keeping looking up. She was a pretty sight on that tree. "And how are you doing?"

"Me? I'm not too bad. Been feeling kind of stuck, like I wanted a change of pace, so I came here. And suddenly, poof, here you are."

She hopped down from the branch, pushing off the tree to land next to him and to slightly slow her fall.

"Moto Ruhe, right here to get you unstuck!" He laughed, having extended his hands instinctively as she jumped down even though it was unnecessary. "Your athleticism doesn't stop being amazing."

"Same with your musical ability; Everyone should have something they're passionate about improving themselves in, a subject or pastime or such. That's one of the things that makes you so interesting, Moto-san; Your passion shines through you."

Coming from her, he somehow couldn't dismiss the compliment casually, so he turned it into a joke, looking at his forearms sceptically investigating for the claimed luminosity, with a pout, then smirked. "You know, after hearing something like that, I feel like playing whatever you'd like, even if it's well outside my genre."

Her eyebrows went up under her loose bangs, "What, like a request?"

She sat down on the grass cross legged, looking up at him as she got herself comfortable, "...I'm not sure I'd even know where to begin."

He dropped from the bench to sit similarly across her, the fiddle against his lap. "At the start, Bayushi-sama." He smiled encouringly. "But if I don't know it, you'd need to lead me in."

Tenma thought for a moment; Maybe something from Sitar Hero?

"Hmmm... can you do 'Through the Fire Kami's Flames'?"

"It shouldn't be a problem!" He smiled brightly, happy to cater to her choice. He adjusted his hold, grabbed the bow, closed his eyes for a moment of recollection, and started...

Quote:
On a cold winter morning
In the time before the light
In flames of death's eternal reign
We ride towards the fight

At this point he looked at her, his gaze seeking her mood.

Temna seemed mostly... relaxed. As he sang she'd put her elbows on her knees and her chin in her hands, leaning forward a bit to watch and listen intently.

"Mmm... you have such a nice voice, Moto-san. A bit gruff, but in a good way. So full of emotion and such."

His gaze might be saying: Your presence helps in being emotional, but he didn't interrupt singing. As he followed, he was vocalising it more as if it was a story be a campfire than a stage song.

Quote:
When the darkness has fallen down
And the times are tough alright
The sound of evil laughter falls
Around the world tonight

Fighting hard, fighting on for the steel
Through the wastelands evermore
The scattered souls will feel the hell
Bodies wasted on the shores

On the blackest plains in Hell's domain
We watch them as they go
Through the fire and pain and once again we know...

The next part was a true demonstration of what she called gruff musicality.

Quote:
So now we fly ever free
We're free before the thunderstorm
On towards the wilderness
Our quest carries on

Far beyond the sundown
Far beyond the moonlight
Deep inside our hearts and all our souls

At that moment of looking at Tenma while performing, something fluttered deep inside his heart and his soul, though he likely had little idea what it was and couldn't focus on it now.
