His movement drew Hoshi's attention. "Someone is getting restless."

"Someone," Moriko said pointedly, "is a greedy little boy, who's going to get fat." Ten flicked an ear, recognising the tone of voice as one she used to refer to him.

Ren peered over at the twins as well.

"Don't you start."

Moriko picked up the bowl and showed it to the two dog, "see? all gone. There's nothing left for dogs." Ten snorted, but his expression was still hopeful.

"Now you're just teasing them." Hoshi chuckled. "I should have some treats."

"I am not," Moriko protested, "I'm showing them I didn't save them anything." The dogs reacted to the playful tone of her voice, and Ten sidled up to the girl, wagging and grinning.

"I think they know." She laughed as Ren came running up. "But, they're still going to ask."

"They are truly paragons of Bushido, we should learn from their example."

"They are the best of us." she agreed.
