Shrugging off the hit as best he could, Yul continued to dance back out of reach, firing as he went, more of the radiant blasts striking his target.

Hide could smell blood. It was... Her blood? She could feel the large gash on her chest, pain shooting through her. She bristled with a mixture of fear and rage, her eyes gleaming like a wildcat's as she started to laugh.

She sliced into the fungusman in front of her, kicking off of him to quickly reposition her self (20 ft away) behind the pit.

They needed to drop these zombies to focus fire on whatever the Jigoku that thing was...

Aiming at the smaller one left standing Koseki's shot struck true yet again. He just hoped it was enough to finish the damn thing off.

The samurai worked in tandem with both sword and radiant beams to dispatch the remaining fungal zombies in quick succession. The energy weapon fragmented their weak bodies and split them apart so that they could no longer put up a fight, leaving several chunks of their remains in the process on the floor. Some of their legs still twitched.

Freed from her own opponent, Akemi looked around to see if anyone else was willing to get a pointy stick to the face. Her allies had cleared out the closest ones, and the big guy was still out of her tetsubo's reach by quite a stretch, so she turned back to the door and put all her strength into widening the opening.

"Emergency exit... Coming... Soon!"

Eriko saw what her kinswoman was doing with the door and she could only guess that was a plan regarding there to go next. She holstered her gun and made a run toward the door with a headstart, ramming herself against it with the momentum to give the last needed bit to jar it open enough for people to fit in.

"Now open!" she said after bouncing back from the impact.

The door is open now and there is a way out. PCs may spend their actions to leave the combat and get to safety. Hida Akemi and Shinjo Yul must roll Overconfidence to be able to do this, however.

The monstrosity continued his lumbering path over, moving forward to its path of destruction as it dragged it pipe on the ground. As it got closer, the bits of gore and vicera were visible on its weapon, including bits of feathers that found itself there.

The monstrosity is now 20 feet away.

While one path opened, the other one closed. The double doorway the monstrosity came from slid itself shut.

Yul looked at the huge creature. Then at the door. Then back to the creature. Door. Creature. Door.

"Let's go." He finally said, rushing for the exit, weapons still in hand.

Hide didn't have to be told twice. She bolted for the door, katana still in hand. "Hurry!"

Akemi turned to the creature:

"Okay, big boy, I'm sure I can kick your ass every day...

But there is a Crab proverb that says Underestimating a pack of zombies is not a mistake that is repeated; for one reason or another. So I'm just going to leave before your twenty other friends come in. The Phoenix can deal with their infestation problem themselves."

"Move, I'm right behind you!"

Koseki kept his sidearm leveled at the monster.

Holding my action until Eriko and Akemi have definitely gone through the door. Then full move after them before the monster can do anything.

Eriko grit her teeth together at the lumbering monstrosity. It didn't take her training to know that thing wasn't natural or some side-effort of some mysterious mushroom. Worst still, there was someone behind this. However, she got what she came for. She took everyone here for an expedition but not a hunt.

"Done playing your games!" She yelled down the hallway and ducked out with everyone else.
