The old set of doors beside the group was heavy and reinforced but thankfully not the same blastdoors that were closing in on them earlier. However, after decades of rust and disrepair, they didn't exactly hold up as they used to. As Akemi gave the door a heavy push with her shoulder, she could see some visible progress as there was the lip of the door jutting out. However, it wasn't enough for anyone to get through yet save for perhaps a cat.

With a bit of skill and a lot of luck he rolled free and shot the zombie thing square in the chest again. Seeing Eriko pulled clear he yelled: "Im ready for a quick Evac Hide-san."

Koseki's powerful shot didn't exactly zap the zombie in the head but the radient beam was powerful enough to sheer the head from its neck. It staggered forward and collapsed atop of Koseki, then rolling off with its arms curled to its body.



Its friends persisted however and were practically right on top of the group as they lurched forward with wild abandon.

The group is 10 feet away now.

"Thanks," Eriko breathed out when she made it back into the hallway with Hide's help. She drew out her sidearm in quick order and attempt to shoot at one of the zombies who were too close for comfort. However, she might attempt to go for a fancy shot which ultimately went over off the mark as the kept moving and only burning the metal bulkhead above.

"Shit!" she hissed out.

As the zombies closed in, Yul grimaced. Unwilling to wait for the rifle to charge, he shifted it to his left hand. With a smooth motion, he drew his pistol, aiming and firing with deadly accuracy.

Still grimacing, Yul began to move, circling around the pit towards Akemi.

Having closed their distance, the zombies quickly engage themselves to all of the samurai, screaming and flailing their arms rapidly. The find their target in Hida Akemi, Kuni Eriko and Shinjo Yul. One manages to harmlessly bounce off Akemi's armour and the other merely takes futile swipes at Yul. Eriko gets the worst of it as it slashed her across the shoulder.

"Sonabitch!" Eriko snarled at the zombie that slashed her quickly took an awkward backstep as she attempt to dance with the zombie to get a better position. She raised her side arm and took another shot at it. This time her fancy shot did find its mark and burned the zombie right on the chest.

A quick assessment of the situation was all there was time for. With adrenaline flowing he drew his pistol and shot the creature nearest to Eriko in the leg.

It wasn't as powerful as his rifle, but it was a good shot and with a bit of luck it might knock it off its stride.

The zombie in front of Yul took the shot from his sidearm but didn't even flinch at the beam went straight through his stomach, leaving a visible hole through and through. Meanwhile, Akemi managed to bring her tetsubo into an overhead strike which left the head of the creature in front of as bone fragments, fungi and dead brain matter. The third zombie took the strike at its thigh but it didn't even turn to consider Koseki at all.

The zombie was fixed fixated on Yul and launched itself at him with a bewildering cry. Its claws finally found its mark and dug into him.

The other one was less picky and merely went for whatever was the low hanging fruit. In that case, the Kuni seemed to have replaced itself with a Matsu and it charged into her with its hands out. Its claws flailed out like a whirling buzzsaw, slashing her with great efficiency.

Mortality clarified in a single strike!

"Damnit!" she grimmaced when Hide took to protecting her and paid the price for it with the damage she took. The least she could do was at least repay it back in some form.

"Don't move!" she called out, maybe to either her target or Hide and fired a shot into the zombie flailing at the Matsu. It didn't down it but it was due payback.

"This tires me, finish them now! They'll replace the others!" a muffled male voice called out from the corner of the hallway that just opened.



On command, a zombie monstrosity lurched out its spot now the doors were fully opened. It looked larger than the others, its limbs augmented unnaturally with fungal growths and supplemented by several other body parts that were stitched atop another to create a form that had four arms. One of those arms was carrying a large metal pipe with long nails and jagged metal bits that stuck out of it.

The monstrosity is 70 feet away.
