Characters taking part to this event are assumed to taking part to a tour to one of the many barley farms surrounding the city, enjoying an hour long tour among the endless barley stalks while listening to the all too enthusiastic taskmaster serving as a guide. By the end of the tour, everyone present is aware of the importance of the 'enhanced barley' and the modern cultivation methods employed in the Phoenix settlers. While the weather is miserable, servants carrying large umbrellas mean that everyone can stay dry even if the humidity is near suffocating. Once the tour is over, the samurai are served local spirits brewed at the very farm they are visiting. This part of the tour takes part in large air conditioned tent and as the sake flows freely, soon everyone is feeling pretty good about the little excursion. The cheerful occasion is brought to a sudden end by a distress call form a near-by watchtower. The news spread quickly. Seven year old son of an Asako agrologist has gone missing. Should the brave guests want to help their hosts, now is their chance. This thread is considered closed after four Characters have posted in it, confirming their participation. It should be noted that this thread has potential to be fatal and participants face a considerable risk of death. Your initial post should include your character's reaction to the situation as well as your initial Initiative Roll and your unarmoured TN to be hit. (No character can be assumed to wear armor to a farm tour.) Additionally every character must roll their Stamina against TN 10 or be inebriated and suffer -1k0 penalty to all Skill and Trait rolls for the duration of the combat. Similarly, characters cannot expect to have brought anything besides their swords and their sidearms. The scene will start with the characters wandering into a clearing, spying the lost child huddled under a large rotting fungal stalk with two large reavers trying to push the trunk away. The reavers and the child are 120' from the characters. For RL reasons this thread won't pick up until Sunday morning US time so be aware that you cannot do anything with the rest of the day before the combat is sorted out. Also because of this, please make sure to leave ghosting instructions in your PF. |

It had been a long and boring afternoon for the Lion, so it's no real surprise that Shoan is stone cold sober when the distress call in, and the Lion almost literally jumps at the opportunity to help out. Day 3 LA, Stamina roll TN 10 from sake: 3d10o10k3 26 She's glad the Ujina is there, at least she knew for a fact he was competent. Although there were dark rumours swirling about his shirts. Searching the area with a her sidearm drawn and ready, it's a happy miracle that the samurai find the child alive and well. Shoan intends to keep him that way. Shoan had wanted to meet up at some point to discuss matters of fighting against spirits. Satoru thought the tour would be an interesting thing in and of itself and then after or during lulls him and Shoan could talk about whatever she had questions with. When the alarm went up Satoru jumped to help the group hoping his prayers to the kami could be of some use. He followed behind the bushi densai in hand. Honestly how people got by with those cumbersome scrolls was beyond him. ------------------------------ D3 LA stamina roll tn 10: 3d10 21 D3 dino fight initiative: 3d10o10k2 24 Unarmored atn: 15 |

When the samurai happened upon the clearly, the reavers looked preoccupied in attempting to get their prey as they tried to nudge the large stalk that was keeping the child safe from the ravenous reavers, for now. One them dipped its body low, almost laying on the ground as it attempted to reach inside with its arms to snatch the child away. There was a scream as he attempted to back himself further in to escape the sharp claw. The other reaver butted its head against the stalk, trying to make do with just sheer brute force. It staggered away and let out a huff, clearly, it was very frustrated with its futile attempts. However, the reaver perked up with its senses and snapped its head toward the approaching samurai. Looked like meat was still on the menu... Seeing the commotion caused by the Akagi, calling it out and showing plentiful meat by standing in the open, the reaver let out a shrill roar. It huffed twice and started charging toward the group of samurai at full force. Reaver 1 spent all of its action moving now 45' away, 25' away from Bayushi Akagi. The other reaver seemed to largely ignore the call by its companion, especially since its meat was much closer. It wiggled its claw into the confines of the stalk, in hopes to grab the child. There was something caught on one of its claws, letting out a tear before it pulled away to reveal a bit of orange fabric. Frustrated, it let gave the stalk a headbutt for good measure. It was so close! Reaver 2 is still 120' away, 100' away from Bayushi Akagi. |

Akagi's shot made its target on the overgrown lizard's neck and shrieked in pain. However, it didn't deter it from storming closer to Akagi and Shoan. It felt the heat coming from Akagi, which prevented it from brushing against him. However, it was very angry. Reaver 1 is now engaged to Bayushi Akagi. The second reaver saw its companion in trouble and that it found its share of food. It also charged forward. Reaver 2 spent all of its actions move closer, 25' away from Bayushi Akagi, Murame Shoan and Ujina Jin. |
