Tsugiharu shrugged a bit.

"Well, doesn't hurt to try. Hopefully the local earth kami don't hold the biases of the samurai who walk upon them." he said.

He took out his own densai, and attempted to reach out to the earth kami for answers.

As expected, they were stubborn to wake, but wake them he did.

Tsugiharu looked...less like someone who was in-tune with the elements of life, and moire like someone trying to pull a tooth with tweezers. It was just one more thing about being Spider: other clans meditated serenely in touch with the elements...so he'd read. But the very fabric of the universe of itself had to be forced into submission like a spoiled child for the Spider to get anything of value. Was it any wonder so many had turned to maho? At least the kansen were free with their gifts....even if they extracted a heavy price.

"The earth kami were fairly uncooperrative as to revealing anything we can really use as far as what we can do about the ritual." he reveals. "However, they did confirm that the people of the planet should flee, for while the planet yet slumbers, it will soon awaken."

He rubbed the back of his neck.

"Of course, 'soon' in earth kami terms doesn't mean anything...but the warning was passionately delivered for an earth kami."

"Soon . . . like when their King has been fed enough Void."

The Fox looked grim.

The normally cheerful Osprey grimaces. "Oh, well, that's great. It's eating the Void. From...worshippers? What does that? How?"

Tsugiharu shook his head.

"Some sort of spirit or oni I guess," he said. It was the only answer the Heavens were going to give him apparently.

"Can'tdomuchaboutithereandwe'llbenoticedifwehangaroundforever."

Izumi fiddled with Mumei's umbrella, unfamiliarity with it delaying putting it up.

Mumei nodded. "Yeah. I don't think there's more to find here." Pointing to the umbrella mechanism, she adds, "button there, above the...the part you hold onto."

"Aha!"

Button depressed, umbrella deployed, wet fox avoided.

Tsugiharu nodded.

"Hai, we should be going." he agreed.

Unfolding from the ground, Mumei nods and will head back to the little ATV with the rest of the group to drive back through the rain to civilization.

Thoughtful Fox is thoughtful on way back . . . but still stuck to the window staring at the fungal biome.
