"I see. So it's not just your ability to craft, but also your ability to handle the craft. Speed is nice, but handling and getting through obstacles counts too."

Tetsu holds out a palm "I get it, you don't want to spoil it. I'll keep my mouth shut about it. I just get to consider it a challenge...but it sounds like one I actually might stand a chance in"

"Good," she bobbed her head, pleased that he was interested. "With this many visitors here, we're hoping to see how they might approach things, learn a thing or two, while testing some features at the same time. I know I've been helping Kishi-sama on his power-saving module. Nothing glorious but every little bit counts, right?"

She looked at both the Bayushi and Crab for a moment. "Speaking of the power-saving module, I should probably put my nose on the keyboard and get to work out the engine code. You're more than free to use the space and we have plenty of spare parts for small things. If you really want to take a stab at Orihime-san's hair straightener, I'm sure she'll be happy...for a day. Let me know if you need anything, okay?"

"That should be fine. Do you have any computers with engineering software on here? Something were we could make some plans and designs for...a hypothetical project?"

Tetsu looks over at Tsukiko

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

"Yes, actually, I'll be right over there too," she pointed at a corner of the shed where there were three computers crammed together. They looked rather dated, to say the least, merely a black and green text screen. It wasn't fancy but it was enough to code and program.

Robotics Rally project

In addition to the general construction and programming of drones, each drone will have an upgrade slot to host a component. There are a few available already and planned for the event but the club is more than open to feature others.

Steps:
1) Come up with a general idea or function of this upgrade, I will come up with the mechanics side of it more or less.
2) Depending on the nature of the upgrade it will likely require an engineering/intelligence or computer use/intelligence roll.
3) The Cumulative TN is 120 and can be rolled in parts, each taking one time slot to roll and contributing to the overall TN. They can be rolled in parts and over the course of many days.
4) Once complete, the upgrade will be featured in the Robotics Rally on Day 7 and you will receive credit for it!

Upgrade ideas:

Grappling hooks to maneuver
Repulsor thrusters for All Terrain movement
Manipulator arms for maneuvering/lifting/combat

Most of these seem viable.

Grappling hooks to maneuver: 1 re-roll for Piloting/Agility check
Repulsor thrusters for All Terrain movement: +1 Piloting phantom skill
Manipulator arms for maneuvering/lifting/combat: +5 to Athletics/Strength check

Tetsu gets an idea for something that would let him handle the Drone in multiple scenarios and might help him avoid colliding it into the walls.

As per the rules, you can't roll once the day has passed. Consider this scene the planning portion and you can begin rolling on Day 3. I'll let you keep that roll but please allocate it to a free slot on Day 3. This must be done at the Robotics Club as they have the free facilities and tools.

"Hmm, I don't know too much about drones or the rally either...

Tsukiko looks curiously at Tetsu. Well, if he's participating, then she certainly won't leave him hanging.

"...but it sounds exciting so count me in! Will there be anything we need to prepare before the rally or is it alright if we just go in blind?"

"Well, I could certainly use some help brainstorming ideas and making sure anything I build actually works. Plus wouldn't it be cool to get recognized for our mad skills even before it starts?"

Tetsu drops his voice "So even if we lose, we get something out of it"
