Maybe he should of went to that crab bar instead... Hayato thought to himself as he sat at the bar a gin and tonic in his hand. It had been pretty crowded the night before after all, it could be it was the new place to be?

Well, not that such really mattered. He more came out to drink they anything and if nothing else he could do that alove. Taking a sip of his drink he let his eyes scan the various people that were present, maybe he should just hit the floor and not care much about who he might encounter?

"Don't like your drink, Ikoma-san?" Hayato asked glancing towards the Lioness. It was the first time he recalled seeing her hear, and honestly she stuck out a bit like a sore thumb.

Maybe she wasn't used to the enviroment? Who knows.

“It is quite sweet Tsuruchi-san. I suspect the bar specialises in drinks of a stronger variety.”
There’s the tiniest sigh as she pushes the cup away a little, someone on this planet must be able to make a good tea.

“You have the appearance of a samurai looking for something, or someone.”
She gestures out to the dance floor.

"Yes, not much call for tea in a club." He replied raising his glass of alcohol. "Though i do think they have a cocktail made with tea?" Not that he had tried it.

At her question his smile turned a tad playful. "Only if I can find someone who will humor my poor skills on the dance floor." He studied the Lion for a moment. "Were you interested Ikoma-san?"

Shoan freezes for a moment, eyes widening slightly
“I... would not want to inflict my flailing on you. You’re not speaking with the most graceful samurai on Asakaze.”

"By the sound of it we would be inflicting our dancing on each other." His lips curled into a soft smile. "I'm not the most graceful of men either."

"I won't press the matter though if you're not interested." He shifted his eyes towards her cup. "Im curious is tea all you ever drink though?"

“Perhaps you can persuade me out there Tsuruchi-san, although it wouldn’t be easy and the dancing would be at your own risk.”

Glancing down at her drink
“I rarely drink anything stronger, it can lead to...unpleasantness.”
Pause
“I understand that must sound incredibly boring. I assure you, I do more than not drinking alcohol and not dancing.”

"Now you're just tempting me." Hayato offered with a laugh.

Shaking his head he took another sip of his drink. "Perhaps we should concentrate instead on the things you do enjoy doing though?"

“Well.... I suppose I might actually be a little boring there too. Although I have recently become an arcade champion?... I’m still not quite sure how that happened but apparently I’m now a-“
Shoan does airquotes as she repeats the name from the kids in the arcade
“Gamer? Which feels ridiculous. Other than that I enjoy my duties, travel, history and poetry, although I would only claim any skill in one of those.”

Looking very slightly amused at the Mantis
“What about you mysterious Mantis-san? Other than perhaps striking up conversation with isolated lion?”

"I know who not to challenge at the arcade now." He replied with a chuckle. "After all I only managed tickets on one of the game's last night." His lips curled into a smile. "Still it's always kind of nice of find you have a hidden talent, right?"

There was a small chuckle and he shook his head, "I'm not sure if I can claim to be mysterious if i am not at least wearing sunglasses." Placing his empty glass on the bar he gestured to the bartender for another. "As for me though, if I don't count striking up conversation with isolated Lions? I like dancing a bit, origami, swimming, rock climbing, and shooting. Or at least those are the first few that come to mind."

“May you find a rythmic paper folding rock climber who enjoys making origami weapons underwater, they might be a perfect match.”
With a regretful look at her tea she stands and makes her way over to Hayato at the bar, bowing politely
“I am Shoan of the Murame who serve the Ikoma. And I’m sorry if you feel a lack of sunglasses has robbed you of an air of mystery.”

"They might be, but that wouldn't be very interesting either." He replied rising from his own seat and offered the woman a biw in return. "Plus I'm fairly sure origami weapkns wouldn't shoot very well." He continued a touch of amusement in his voice.

"And it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance Ikoma-san, I'm Tsuruchi Hayato." He sighed a bit dramatically and shook his head. "I suppose my air of mystery is forever banished now, I guess I won't be needing sunglasses after all."

“Ah, well you can still put them on. There’s always a certain image one associates with sunglasses at night time.”
Hayato... Hayato
“The Tsuruchi Hayato-san who dominated the shooting range at the event?”

"Tripping?" Hayato asked with a raised, eyebrow, gesturing for the Lion to take the seat next to him if she wished.

At her question thoguh he nodded. "Yes, that would be me."

She inhaled quickly for a second. Probably this Lion’s version of an unexpected laugh.

“Hai, tripping. Clearly you were not wearing them at the event.”
She perches herself on the offered stool, taking a moment to get situated

Honesty “You lives up to the stories of your family, as one bushi to other.... I was very impressed.”

"Sadly fashionable sunglasses can't be worn everywhere. " Hayato replied, perhaps a bit wistfully.

"But thank you, Ikoma-san. " He offered a moment latet his tone turning more serious. "I don't think a ushi can ask for any higher praise."

“Perhaps not.” Deadpan “But they can try.”
Probably a joke.... probably

“It was humbling to be reminded just how far my skills lag behind more accomplished samurai. I’m sure the other samurai here at the miai took notice. I’d warn you to watch out for the event I myself am set to dominate but....”
Slight shrug
“It seems unlikely.”

Hopefully it was a joke, because he did chuckle. "They can try." He agreed as he picked up his new drink and took a slow sip.

"You never know, honestly I was a bit surprised to find a event that so closely matched my skill set." He reached up a hand to run it through his hair. "And after that one. Well, I'm unlikely to preform nearly as well in any others."

"The governor is...a supporter of more active endeavours, we are perhaps lucky that it will not be all shooting and obstacle courses."
Shoan flags down a barman and orders a club soda. Adventurous

"But if there's any hunting to come then that might be another option? I've engaged with some of the local wildlife and they were interesting if not particularly dangerous to a group of trained samurai."
