Dragging its claws across the boat's surface, the large beast climbed on the bow, slowly lurching towards the bridge, its roar filling the night, death gleaming in its eyes. The drifter was filled with primal hunger, crouching as it approached the three samurai.

Jin jumped up the bridge, using the momentum as he held his sidearm sideways, and let loose! It seemed that the bolt hit despite the darkness, burning the....sea reaver? Giant sea reaver?

Suddenly there was a beast uglier than the nonhuman servants on her homeworld! Which totally exist! Or do that?

Either way, it was enough to put Nara off, and she shot wildly past it. She also took a few steps back, that mouth was a little too close for comfort.

Severely bleeding, the best roared, turned to the starboard side and lurched towards the river, water splashing up as it tried to flee. The water around the drifter was stained red as it swam towards the deeper parts of the river, ready to dive.

The Komori drew the fire from within but her lack of training on unsteady terrain made her not be able to communicate with the kami. Perhaps it was because they were surrounded by water.

"You better flee!" Nara called after the beast, firing in its direction again. Missing again, but she still stood her ground.

As suddenly as it had began, so did it end. The beasts disappeared into the dark waters, the ship deadly quiet. Koryn laid dead, his blood staining the wood. The Phoenix samurai stumbled from the bowels of the ship, looking both dazed and terrified.

"People of...um, this vessel. It is safe to come out now! The beast has been driven away, and you can now continue your discussions. If there is a doctor though for our fallen comrade, please come forward. Rest assured that we will remain vigilant in case the thing comes back, and keep you safe!"

It was a relatively good speech, and would hopefully reassure the others that they were safe.

Kystal huffed and shook her head. "This girl is going to kill us." She looked at Koryn's body and frown. "Crab san... You honored... your ancestors... let the next life... be one full of joy...and friendship." She went to pick up his daisho.

Jin lowered his sidearm, frowned and fell silent, not reacting to anything around him.

Kystal shook her head. "Does anyone know his name?" The girl grimaced in pain. "I need to offer prayers to his ancestors."

Nara peered over, then shook her head.

"I can't see him well from here but I don't know him, sorry. Maybe call back to land and ask, or check with whoever is running this party?"

So Kystal does taking out her comunicator.
