Atsumori himself made an unremarkable showing, perhaps owing in part to the fact he was paying too much attention to the other competitors... for the awesome drawings he was already planning to add to his video. He didn't manage to protect his imaginary charge from attack, and his attempts at legal reasoning were rather laughable.

The grappling event was a success, at least; he wrestled the 'thug' to the ground with the gentle inexorability all too well known by certain wayward crocodiles that had strayed too far from their proper habitats.

Izumi really didn't need the encouragement. He grinned and seized the mike. There had been a brief glance at the Hare as he left, but the Alliance was more a set of guidelines than hard fealty rules so he had no command over the Ujina.

"Whatwegotthen? AnyDrop! . . . ?"

He searched through the songs on offer and found the, now rather dated, Orbital Drop To Your Heart! by Usagi Drop! and launched straight into it.

His voice was terrific . . . . in the proper sense. Terrifying to behold. He absolutely butchered it and enjoyed every second to the MAX. An actual howling fox, vulpes vulpes, would probably have been preferable.

"I think someone just murdered one of our songs at a seedy karaoke bar again."

The creature managed to tear itself free eventually, immediately lunging after Atsumori, chittering on only in a manner that could be described as a middle-aged white CEO stuck in LA traffic in his Prius SUV on a Friday afternoon.

Izumi was well up for this. He had his carefully crafted 'Fox Rush' deck ready. A bit of an affection but also effective. The qualifiers were a breeze. He even managed the oft sought 'Triple Bearjimbo' Finisher with the Brown, Black and Polar 'Mori Kuma' cards.

Now he was ready for sterner opposition.

Then her communicator starts loudly playing a ringtone and peppy pop music fills the air.

She also manages to get her foot stuck in some mud.

"Hiruma Kaoru! Always getting into or out of trouble when you least expect it, wields a nemurani, has the best one liners..." He laughed. "Although Togashi Hoshi was cool and Daigotsu Ayame was, well, hot."

Koseki picked up a drifter plushie and growled at Yul while miming a very gentle attack. As he squeezed it the toy made a cute roaring noise. "Yul-san you totally have to buy one of these."

"Language," Nozomi murmured to Shoan, as if they were already something more. She coughed and looked again at the message. "So, uh, this is convenient."

She glanced over her shoulder for anyone watching the Lion group. "Is this connected to our other issue?"

A happy orange kitten was running around the common room of the inn in the early hours of the day. It seemed to have shed itself of most of its feral ways with the help of a certain Phoenix. It still was a little shy of humans but Hayato had at least got the beast playing with one of the cat toys he bought.

While the kitten may be happy though, the Mantis at least appeared to be decidedly not. There were a pair of thick protective gloves on his hands and a handkerchief wrapped around his mouth and nose. Not that the later did much good if the man's puffy watery eyes were any indication. The occasional snifflle and sneeze didn't lend any credibility to its effectiveness either.

Still he was at least doing his part to help domesticate the creature he had helped rescue.

"Oh good, they have computer archives." Tetsu had shuddered at the thought of spending all day touching paper instead of a keyboard. That joy is short lived as the out of date system crashes the moment he turns it on. As a proper Crab, he immediately begins "percussive maintenance" by slapping the machine, only for an angrier error message to pop up. Tetsu slaps it again, this time loosening a power cord and causing the entire bank of computers to go down.

"Whoops...I guess it's time for the stupid paper?" Tetsu gets a few things, but overall it's an overwhelming failure.

Koseki didn't hesitate and with a grin he blasted the ronin as she drew her weapons. "Drop 'em and live. Choose." His finger rested gently on the trigger.
