Returning to her room after the meeting with the other Unicorn, Hyeon-ju was really not feeling well. She'd been feeling sick since the dumb ikebana-thing, and no amount of water seemed to be helping. And it had cut her plans short of going out for dancing again tonight.

Feeling shaky after her visit to the bathroom, she opened the door to Room #1, and promptly sat down on one of the chairs before looking to see who were already back for the night. "Urghhhh..."

Koryn is taking a moment to feed his falcon and generally check on Inu before turning in. He smiles and waves in the direction of the Utaku as she enters. "Evening, you don't look so good"

Why that thing was called Inu she just couldn't comprehend.

Smushing her face with the palm of her hand as she sat up, she held back another groan. The makeup had been taken off for the day, though it didn't lessen that she did have a beautiful face. Though it did look somewhat on the sickly pale side now.

"... I don't think I feel so good, Kuni-san. Been feeling pretty bad since this afternoon. Think I might've touched some bad flowers."

"You were messing with the Ikebana flowers weren't you?" He breaks out the medical kit "Do you remember what it looked like?"

"Uhh... red, I'm pretty sure. It had some nice petals," she murmured, doing her best to be as cognitive as possible to remember the details. "Long green stem?"

"I wore the gloves though. Maybe something was wrong with them, or I was clumsy."

It had been a very clumsy stupid day.

"I didn't do that well at Ikebana either, though luckily my moms Botany lessons helped some with plant identification. The birds were much easier, though I have never ridden anything before. Maybe my work with Inu was just good practice. If the contests are like this every day though I don't think I am going to do that well" He starts checking vitals and preparing some drugs.

"I never had much experience with plant-stuff like that... it seemed silly, but... it's the polite thing to do. For our hosts, that is." She probably meant participating.

At least the poisoning didn't seem life-threatening, and someone healthy and fit as her would probably fight it off in a day or two naturally, but it did clearly cause discomfort with some fever and nausea.

"Why is putting flower in a vase art?"

He shrugs, "It's a Crane thing, folding paper is an art to them, remember?" He mixes up a little something, "Look this is a little beyond me but I am going to do some research on my Densai tonight and have something for you in the morning that might work. For Now I am going to mix you up a sleeping draught and see if that helps your body recover, does that sound good?"

"Folding paper at least takes some planning and strategy," she mumbled.

At his question, she gave him a shaky nod. He wasn't her chain of command, but for now she treated him with the same respect that a medical officer would otherwise have. "Yes... thank you. Kuni-san."

"Maybe I misjudged you..."

He smiles, "I just try to do my job, and do the right thing. It really doesn't matter what others think of me as long as I do my ancestors proud right?"

"Well... yes, and no," she said, hesitating a little. "It's most important that you do what you must to make your ancestors proud." Not that she knew what that meant for the Kuni. "But you are here to stand out, Kuni-san. To make an impression."

"I thought I was here to find an honorable match that will help strengthen the alliances of my clan?"

"Yes..." she paused, fighting off the feeling of nausea for a moment. "... But have you thought about how to meet that someone to marry, or how to make them agree that you are the best match for them?"

"So far I've just been going to the events and doing my best at them. I am afraid it isn't that stand out, I am well educated, but not that skilled in actual artistic pursuits I am afraid"

"Yeah, me neither..." and she wasn't that well-read either. She was a damned fine pilot, a good shot, and a tactical mind. Those were her strengths.

"Well... uh... what are the Crab looking for in alliances? Maybe you should spend some time with the samurai from those clans? See what they might be interested in?"

"I don't really know, we haven't had any formal briefing, but I think the head of our delegation left me an invite for a meeting tomorrow night, maybe we will find out there?" He smiles, "I mean your a Skyrider, an Utaku, they are legendary. You start out standing out as the most prestigious line in the Empire."

"And that gives us no time to rest on our laurels, so to speak, Kuni-san. It means each and every Sky Rider have a great reputation to live up to."

She took a deep breath, feeling a little bit better for now.

"But I hope the meeting tomorrow will be useful for you. It will be good for you to speak with your kin, and orient yourself more. And as we said here yesterday, as your room-mates we also support you. If you have questions or need, you can turn to me, or Daigotsu-san, or Doji-san."

"If I find out what our clan goals are I will be sure to let you know!" He smiles, "At least you must have done better in the riding contest then the flower arranging!"

"Ah... you don't have to share with me if it's something meant only for you and your clan. But... do send them my regards. The Unicorn consider the Crab our friends, so it would be nice to meet some time."

"Of course" He pauses a moment "Ummm any particular Crab you have your eye on so far?"
