Mumei nods, and slides into the eased formality readily. "Mumei's less of a mouthful than Nakauchi anyway, so fee free to use it, Jin-san, Hide-san."

"And I think...you need to actually go see what's in the store before you set you mind on something that may not exist there." She decides to model her decisiveness and starts strolling over, clucking at Yube and lifting the edge of her jacket. "you need to be out of sight buddy, that does not look like a shop that allows pets, neh?"

"Well, that's certainly an idea Mumei-san." He smirked. "Got it! I won't mention the pinups of MAXIMUM RANGE the boys had in their locker then." He nodded to Hide. "Though I am pretty sure it was a bootleg copy that wasn't her at all. Anything else I should be aware of? Likes? Dislikes? Favorite things to shoot at?"

He started moving into the shop, mouthing a word of thanks for Mumei for handling Yube.

"What's all this Maximum Range anyway?" says the very non-military Osprey who's been on a media diet of season three of "To Catch the Wind" and a lot of training holovids on her last assignment. "and why is she shooting at things?"

“She’s, uhhh... Kind of super serious. So I’m going to assume her favorite things to shoot at are the enemies of the Lion.” Hide rubbed her chin in contemplation, really trying to remember anything really done on Chiyoko. She then looked over to Mumei and smiled. “Think of that as a nickname of sorts. She’s really well known for her marksmanship.”

Jin nodded. "That's...helpful Hide-san. Any idea what kind of spouse she is looking for?" He tried thinking on that. So...some place to shoot Mantis? Probably not. Oh well.

"Oh there are holos of her making those shots at outside of the usual range." He mimicked hoisting a large gun, looking down a barrel, and as he pulled the invisible trigger, he whispered "Matsu"

When done he let out a small laugh. "It's overly dramatized, but still pretty cool."

Hide thought back to Chiyoko’s list. Jin was on it, yeah? “Honestly, she probably wants to know a little more about you. If she asks a question, do your best to answer honestly.”

"Mhm, okay." That should be okay. He tried recalling things that might be awkward...

"I think it should be okay, with her questions. Hopefully. I don't recall any assaults on Lion holdings at least." Soon they entered the shop, and he started looking around. "Wow, so many types of pants!"

Mumei nods along, "OK, so famous for shooting things. And maybe tired of talking about shooting things, so definitely come up with something else." She could see why that probably appealed to the Hare who liked to jump out of flying things... come to think of it, that seemed like an oddly great date idea for him and a pilot...fly around and jump out of things.

She nods along with Hide. "Yeah, honesty is always the best idea. Then you aren't trying to remember why someone thinks gifting you with an embroidered map of Inari's Rest makes sense." Her head tilts sideways in bemused examination of a pair of hakama that, in fact, appear to have an embroidered map of the main land mass of Asakaze on them. "Though that might impress anyone local that you're courting," she says, pointing toward them.

"Hm....favorite guns maybe?" He eyed Hide, asking for something. "Family, I guess." He shrugged, uncertain.

"That...I don't know. Wait...isn't Shiro Yoake right at the part where I sit down? That might not be a good idea to show Asako-sama." He shuddered a the thought.

"Hakama sound good though."

“That’s oddly specific, Mumei-san.” Hide then noticed that embroidery and could not help but stifle a laugh. “That’s basically just a fancy way of having one of those shirts that say you’ve been to such and such place.”

"Good point." then she glances at Jin. "Asako-sama? Which Asako-sama? You have a fourth person to impress with your new duds? Working fast, Jin-san." She nudges Hide. "I'm beginning to think he doesn't actually need much help and just asked us along to admire him in pretty clothes."

"Also, yes. The embroidered map made kind of decent furoshiki while I hung onto it. I think it got left behind on the Starward." She holds up a drapey top with 3/4 sleeves and an all-over jacquard design of clouds. "This would be so pretty in a spin."

"Asako Chiruha-san." He squited at them. "Really, if I could do this well, don't you think I'd already have a spouse signed up?" He sighed. "I should've thought through asking you two." He smirked as he said, obviously joking.

"Hm...not bad, I guess? Is that's what's fashionable nowadays?"

“I mean, I haven’t had a single date.” And now Hide felt like a total loser. It stung quite a bit, and it came from her own mouth. “So you’re leagues ahead of me in this miai.”

"We're supposed to do dates?" Mumei blinks. "Does it count if you just go walking in the park, or run up and pet their dogs, or go dancing and nobody calls it a date?" She strokes her jacket lightly, keeping Yube entertained in his pocket. "I mean...you set up dancing and karaoke...that should count, right?"

"I mean...I bumped into someone last night and we wound up eating noodles on the roof. That definitely isn't an actual date."

She turns in a circle, setting the drapey cloth fluttering, and the clerks send glares in her direction. "I mean if it's in here, it's probably in fashion. I think it needs some color, personally."

“I mean...” Hide rubbed at the back of her neck, considering what Mumei had brought up. “I mean, those are group things, yeah? If it was a date... Would I be dating everyone?”

"Well, a date is...just what I call it." He shrugged. "You get to know them more, discuss what they're looking for in a spouse, see if you two click." Said the sage.

"At least that is what I saw in the romance holos back home." Perfect source! "But as long as you are getting closer, it should be good." He shrugged. "I am still pretty much at the preliminary status for everyone, so, trying to figure out if there's something to work with. You're not behind on anything, I'd wager."

Mumei nods. "I mean, if you aren't sitting yourself next to Kuni-sama at karaoke tomorrow I'm going to...I don't know...give you all choreography for the songs until I get you there. Do you think we could fit seven if someone sat on someone else's lap?" Inviting the Spider could have some practical value there.

"I _definitely_ have no idea how to figure out if someone is a good match for marriage or what that will look like. I've got an ok idea of how to figure out if I'm going to be happy sharing bunk space for the length of an assignment, so I'm working with what I've got."

“Lap... Sitting...” Mumei was dangerous, that was for sure. Still, she couldn’t help imagine that happening to her. “I’ll definitely try. Yes. Then it can be a date.”

Hide looked over towards Mumei, head tilted. “I mean, that’s pretty important. You feel comfortable sharing a bunk with anyone yet? Like as in a space thing. Not a... Well, you know.”

Jin smirked. "Well, I am sure I can take up two seats myself, if that helps." He let out a laugh, as he started looking at...scarves.

"That is important, after all, you will be sharing a bed some of the time, I presume at least."

Mumei grins, "I didn't even need to talk to Shiba-san to be ok spending one night sharing a bunk, but him opening his mouth bumped it up to several sounding fine, even if he turns out to have the kind of habits that make you want to shove someone out an airlock on a long haul." She trails after Jin starting to tick names on her fingers, "That athletic Hida and the adorable Daidoji, and most of the minor clan participants, though I think Kitsune-san might get booted after half a night if he's as restless a sleeper as I suspect. There's this Shinjo pilot that throws the most amazing sparks, and I'm pretty sure I'd be a wreck, but a happy one, if I convinced that solid Ikoma that passion and bushido are not entirely incompatible." She doesn't even bother to try hiding the commentary from Jin, despite lumping him in with the rest of the Minor clan contingent. She tosses an utterly insouciant glance at the Matsu before turning and saying over her shoulder, "And I"m pretty sure you'd leave an Osprey shaped ragdoll in the morning, Hide-san."

"But, Jin-san...scarves? In this heat?"
