"I see..."

She assumed it was merely Yul being very nice to a very nice lady, rather than him putting on the moves on a Crane.

Ok, even Hyeon had to make an exception on Crane when it came to Ichika. Ichika was... different.

"Ok, some lipgloss, and I think it's good."

"Mmm," she vocalized on that. Glancing down for a moment and letting out a small breath. "Lipgloss," she looked up, nodded gently. "Which one are we going with, Utaku-san?" she asked with a smile.

"A lightly pink one. It will just make your lips stand out a little bit more, but not too drasticly. A soft shade will match with your eye-makeup."

And the goal was to give a soft look, as that was a style that fit Ichika well. It just had a bit more shimmer now than before.

"I'll take care of that part then," she said with a smile. Glancing over at what Hyeon-ju had out, holding up her palm.

Before she took it though, she furrowed her brow, "Do.. you know Shinjo Yul-san well, Utaku-san?" she asked, tilting her head a little.

She gave Ichika first a lip balm to prepare her lips with, followed by two glosses for her to choose herself, one named Soft Mellow and the other Flicker.

"Hm..." judging by her slightly narrowed eyes, Hyeon-ju probably knew that one. "I do, in fact. We're part of the same squadron. We're wingmates. So I would say I know him pretty well."

While she looked between the two she applied the balm. With the practiced hand of a girl who'd been taught well, Crane and all.

"Oh!" she said, chuckling a little as she returned the balm and took the soft mellow of the gloss. Waiting before she applied that, "How does it feel having him Utaku-san?" she asked, raising a brow.

While Hyeon-ju answered she quickly applied the gloss. Dabbing the center of her bottom lip then spreading it by rubbing her lips together.

"Having him as my wingmate?" Hyeon inhaled sharply.

"He's a good and dependable flyer. Ace shot really. I would say we have a personality clash, but I trust him with my life up in the skies."

"Not very friendly then?" she asked with a light chuckle, capping off the gloss and handing it back over.

"Seems like you two would get along.. it, well," she shrugged.

"We are not unfriendly, no. That's not how Sky Riders do," she clarified, thought it was hard to distill a relationship into a conversation and explain it.

"It well, what, Doji-san?" Hyeon-ju asked, one neat eyebrow raised

"Oh, uh, sorry," she turned a little red as she scratched the back of her neck. "I-.." she shook her head. "I don't really know what words I was trying to use there. Think I got caught up in the thought, yea? Just figured you and Shinjo Yul-san might get along a bit more, like friends, if you worked so closely together. It doesn't sound like that though, right? At least.." she fiddled with her finger, "not quite."

"There's a big difference between trusting the members of my squad, and wanting to marry them, Doji-san," Hyeon-ju replied cooly.

"They're all fine samurai whom I trust with my life and I know them all very well. But... I am here now, my clan has trusted me to make a good match here, preferrably with another clan. And that is what I will do."

"OH!" both eyes were wide and she laughed, bringing her hands up in front of her face and hiding her expression she turned away a little. Shaking her head she started waving her hand a little, coming down from the laughter. "I- I'm sorry, I don't mean to laugh so much Utaku-san," she waved her hand a little more. Righting herself as she got out the last few giggles, dipping her head, "I'm sorry, Utaku-san."

"I didn't mean to suggest that you might like to match with him," she shook her head, "I just thought it might be nice to have a friend here that you can work with, I suppose. Certainly I have my kin as you have others as well but, it's nice to have someone nearby who knows you, yea? Someone you can rely on a bit? Shinjo-san seems good like that," she chuckled a little more.

Her cool expression gave away little of her own thoughts, except that she was not amused.

"It can be. Yes." She said, her jaw a little tense.

Furrowing her brow a little she was watching Hyeon-ju as she spoke. When Heyon-ju spoke, her brow furrowed only slightly more and then relaxed. Ichika glanced down, and away. Letting her hands fall into her lap, one fell into the other and she almost immediately started fiddling with one of her fingers.

Starting to glance up, ppening her mouth to say something, but then closing it again and looking back down.

Hyeon-ju smoothly moved on from the conversation, giving a mirror to Ichika so that she could see the finished look.

"We can try something a bit more bold another time perhaps? I hope you are pleased." Some warmth returned to her tone.

Taking the mirror carefully into her hand she raised her head a bit as she checked it out. Half a smile as she looked to Hyeon-ju, but not up to her eyes and only a bit below. "I am, Utaku-san," she nodded softly, another smile. "Thank you."

And there it was, that...

... she had seen that before. Many times. Her waspish attitude putting others off when she got too cold.

"... I apologise for my rough manners, Doji-san," she said, a touch lower in tone than she normally spoke.

Shaking her head, "No, I should apologize Utaku-san. I acted too familiar without being considerate of your feelings or.. what you're used to," she looked further down, away a little.

Facing Hyeon-ju she bowed her head, "I'm sorry, if I offended you or made you uncomfortable Utaku-san."

Hyeon-ju waited until Ichika looked at her, calm and patient.

"I accept your apology, Doji-san, and understand you only meant well. I am not angry or upset."

It took her a moment, but eventually the silence brought her curiosity to bear. Looking up she listened and then nodded with a half-awkward smile. "Thank you, Utaku-san," she glanced down a little.
