Mumei's back at the tiny room, music blasting until someone dislikes it and pounds on the wall, dancing off a ton of excess everything. Barefoot in the tiny space, she uses all of it, launching from the edge of a bunk to touch the ceiling before landing on the other side of the room and refocusing the momentum to roll back.

She did her best to clean out her wound she got earlier that day, but it still hurt like hell. She just needed to lie down and maybe nap? But Mumei seemed to be listening to music; she could hear it long before even reaching the door to their room. With a sigh, Hide opened the door.

“I’m home,” Hide went over to the bottom bunk just below Mumei and flopped onto the mattress. She was gone last night, which was odd for Hide. She wasn’t there dawn broke, either. She certainly missed having a nice place to sleep.

Mumei rolls across the floor to slap off the radio before leaping to land in a crouch beside Hide's bunk. "You...were not here last night," she says with a huge grin. "Did you find where Kuni-sama's spending *her* nights, maybe?"

And then the sallow shade of the Matsu's skin registers. "Or did you just get beat up in an Asakaze alley? Are you ok, Hide-san?"

“Ehhhhh...” Hide rolled over towards Mumei, her expression beyond exhausted. “I did stay the night with her, but it’s not what you think. We had a little bit of adventure this morning, though.”

Hide chuckled softly as she wondered how Mumei would take that.

Both eyebrows lift. "Ohhh? Like cross-country makeouts on some of these cliffs?" And then she grins, her eyes full of excitement and, shoulders quivering with barely contained energy. "Because the mountains are pretty great for it, I've gotta say."

Note that I'm assuming that by 'cleaned up a bit' you mean 'not walking around with sliced open clothing and a giant band aid visible,' or I should probably shift the tone.

“Nonono... Nothing like that!” Hide quickly sat up, her face red. She let out a slight hiss, clutching her chest. She had come in wearing fresh clothes, but underneath was still a wound. One that still hurt. “I was helping her out with something is all.”

Mumei frowned. "You make it sound like cliff-climbing makeouts would be a bad thing. But what did you do to yourself? Or what did she do to you?" The last got a bit growly, maybe protective. Not that the slight Osprey was any kind of an asskicking threat. Until she asked the kami nicely to let her breath underwater and held on like the deadest of dead weight in the water.

Hide was taken aback by Mumei’s sudden protectiveness. She hadn’t quite expected it, but she quickly composed herself. “So... Eriko didn’t do anything to me, Mumei-san. Our little adventure, we ran into a little bit of a problem and I... May have stepped in and took a hit for her.”

Satoru laid in his bunk while the Osprey played music and danced he was accustomed to blocking out noise so it took little effort to scroll through his densai.

When Hide entered and the two started talking he eventually put away his densai and turned sitting in the bed. They hadn't spent a ton of time together but slowly got to know each other a little through sheer exposure of sharing a room for the past five days.

"How badly did you get injured Matsu-san?" The ever cool voice of the Spider spoke up finally. Dressed in shorts and a tank top he regarded the Lion with a clinical eye.

"That" Mumei glances back at the Spider with a nod.

"And who else is hurt?" Who else was there?

Satoru was there the entire time? He was so perfectly still that Hide had no idea he was there! “Oh, Kuchiki-san.”

Still, Hide realized they both seemed concerned. So she decided to alleviate their worries, “No one else got hit too bad. I got the worst of it. Just a gash on my chest.”

Satoru nodded and looked to Mumei "You call on the water spirits yes Nakauchi-san? Your prayers could likely do the work or I can see what my healing skills can do." His medicine bag was in his trunk at the foot of the bed after all.

Mumei nods. "Yes. Get the shirt out of the way so I can see what I'm asking them to do. You've been through this kind of healing before? It can feel...odd."

Rummaging in her pockets, she pulls out a little wrapped something. Inside is a dwindling ball of something violet and sticky. With a wistful smile, she plops it into her cup of water, before pulling out a tattered holoslate to thumb through. Swirling, to dissolve the offering, the Osprey focuses on the mesmerizing violet swirls as she chants.

Hide will feel the intense attention of the water kami within and without, damp on her skin, the taste of something sweet carried to her her tongue, the rush of blood moving and mending.

Hide lifted up her shirt on command, showing a fresh bandage wrapped around her torso and a toned physique. She took in the feeling of the kami’s blessing. It was never ever that intense before when she received the aid of a Shugenja healer. Was she sweating or was that just dew? Hide couldn’t really tell.

After it was done, she couldn’t help but stare at Mumei, her eyes wide. “Shit... That was way stronger than all the other times I’ve been healed.”

satoru nodded satosfied "The water kami favor you Nakauchi-san. I dont think i could have healed that with a single prayer like you did. Though my family has the most affinity for Earth."

She swirls the glass, now tinted fully lavender. "They liked the offering, and are stronger now with the rains." How many years before she found herself in that part of the Empire again? She looks at the size of the bandage around Hide's middle. worth it

"Hmm and the earth won't hear me at all, though I've tried to strengthen my connection, Kuchiki-sama. And I've no real medical training...so if the kami will not help, I have little recourse left."

She turns to Hide, "Sooooo, what happened out there that you're taking blows for cute Kuni?"

Hide knew some kind of question like that was coming. She pulled her shirt back down and let out a long sigh. How to go about this? “Well... We went out to the forest. We ran into something mean and it took a swipe at her. So, I stepped in to put some space between her and the creature. It got me pretty good.”

Mumei tilts her head, giving Hide a really, that's all? look before sipping her lavender water. Not even the sweetness of the honey remained, everything but the color taken in offering. Well, it was still a pretty drink.

She shifts to a crosslegged seat on the floor, keeping both within her conversational angle. "Well I hope you at least made some miai type progress with her after that kind of heroics?" The set of her eyebrows said Fine, keep your secrets.

"For that matter, I hope you've seen some success here, Kuchiki-sama."

Hide felt guilty, but she had to keep most of it under wraps. She gave Mumei an apologetic look before letting out a long sigh. “I mean, I didn’t do it because I wanted to impress her,” she did the investigation portion for that! “I just... Acted. Just something inside me made me do it, I can’t explain well.”

She rubbed the back of her neck, unable to really tell if she made progress on that at all.

"You need to actually say something to her, Hide-san, not just...take a massive wound for her." Her own euphoria is still fresh in her heart as she reaches out to rest a hand on Hide's shoulder. "At least let her know the option's open here. Everyone is meeting everyone and making their mental lists and...you should at least be officially on her lists. neh?"
