Yul smiled gently at her as Ichika blushed. "You're also very pretty, you know." He added softly.

"Nice, huh?" Yul blew out a puff of air. "I won't say she doesn't have a way with people. And she knows how to dress. And stuff. Um." Yul chewed his lip a moment. "Well, that's great. She and I are close. Not friendly, but close, if that makes sense."

He gave her a nod. "So... how about you? Meeting interesting folks? Talking with interesting folks you already knew?" He smirked, stirring his tea a bit with his straw. "I mean, besides me, of course."

Looking to Yul she furrowed her brow. Sliding both hands back from the table and into her lap, fiddling with her finger on one hand with the other.

"She's.. strong," she added, with a little nod. Glancing away for a moment she seemed to look at something else. Returning her attention to Yul she smirked, "A lot of people actually! But, I think the most interesting lately had been Daigotsu Ryuu-dan," she paused on that, tilted her head, "yea. I just came from that Karaoke place with him actually!"

"She is." Yul agreed blandly.

Yul chewed on the response for a moment, then nodded, smiling. "Him? He's alright. Say hi for me, huh? From his dance partner." Yul smirked at that.

He shrugged. "I mean... he's sort of a strange guy. Very odd. But he seemed nice. And intelligent." Yul inclined his head to Ichika. "He might make a good match, if that's what you're thinking."

Ichika was about to quip, she had raised her head and was wearing a smirk that lacked confidence but was present all the same. Yet, when Yul suggested the last thing she paused and fiddled with her finger in her lap a bit.

Glancing away as if to hide her expression, "I-" she glanced up, "are you teasing me, Yul-san?" she asked, her voice sheepish, almost unheard.

Yul blinked. "No. I'm not. I promise." He frowned. "Maybe I was a little before. When you blushed, and I said you were pretty." He smiled. "It's true, but I wanted to see if you would blush again."

He leaned forward, his eyes full of very real concern. "What's wrong, Ichika-san? Did I say something? I'm sorry."

Ichika glanced up to him, a moment, but then looked down and shook her head. "N-no, Yul-san. I'm alright I-" she shook her head again, slightly.

Breathing in through her nose she exhaled slowly through her lips, "W-why are you trying to make me blush, Yul-san?" she asked, but couldn't bring herself to look up. Just focusing on the drink in front of herself as if she could hide in looking at it.

"Oh." Yul said. "Okay. Good." His smile was a little hesitant, but as gentle as always.

He tilted his head, regarding her. "Well... I mean, it was a very cute blush. Didn't you have someone try to make you blush before? An older brother, maybe? Or a guy friend? Or maybe a guy who had a crush on you?"

"I-" she looked down more, feeling the heat of the red on her cheeks spreading. Bringing a hand up to her cheek she could feel it, adjusting her eye-patch a little with her first two fingers. "O-once, maybe?" she shook her head, "Not for long though.. and then, well.." she shook her head. "Not like that.." she looked a little more to the side, so that she was looking down and away just a tad.

"Oh." Yul said. After a moment, he gave her a gentle smile. "Well, hey, if it bothers you, I won't do it. A little bit of teasing is something that is kinda fun is all, I think."

He frowned thoughtfully a moment, then smiled at Ichika again. "What's your favorite place on Asakaze?" He asked.

"I-it doesn't bother me," she said, sheepishly. Not quite looking up, "It just.. it ma-" her voice quieted to the point to not being able to be heard. Red was the color of her skin now, it seemed, as her whole face appeared it. Yet, she didn't give too much time as she just worked right into the answer, "B-by the beach, or.. the lake," she said, sheepish yet still but loud enough to be heard.

"I went there once, with Kuchiki Tsugihara-san and.." she glanced up, more appropriately now. Looking over to him, but just below his eyes. "There were these butterflies. They were so beautiful but.. the Otorii didn't like the area very much and there was this horrible pollen," she raised her hand, waving it a little, "so we left pretty soon after that."

Yul watched her, his eyes concerned, but he let the matter pass.

"Huh." Yul said. "That does sound nice. And a little dangerous." His eyes flashed with sudden concern. "This planet's really dangerous. Please be careful, okay? I had some..." his lips moved for a few moments, as he considered the right words, "-close encounters today, myself."

"Close encounters, Yul-san?" she asked, focusing on him as she looked up more appropriately at him. Shifting in her seat as to raise a little, straighten up.

"Yeah..." Yul said, chewing his lip. "There was a bit of a thing this morning. I can't really talk about that."

"And then, this afternoon, I lost my leather jacket." Yul sighed. "Because a dinosaur bit me." There was a pause, and then he winced. "I, uh, kinda buried the lede on that one, huh?"

Ichika, in all her prowess of words both spoken and written just looked at Yul dumbfounded.

"Ahhhhhhhhhh..." Yul brushed a hand back through his long hair, his face flushing a little bit himself, now. "Yeah. I went up to the mountains with, ah, Nakauchi-san." The blush might have deepened the tiniest bit; it was hard to tell. "And we got attacked by something. It got really bad. Like, really really bad." A tiny shudder went through Yul's body.

Then, with a deep breath, Yul smiled. "It's a good thing Nakauchi-san is a shugenja. She saved my life." He sighed, just a little.

Clearing his throat, he looked back at Ichika. "So, uh, stay safe yourself, huh? There's dangerous stuff out there."

Ichika seemed to raise in her seat, bubbling something to the surface and then settled. Shaking her head, "Yul-san," she said, furrowing her brows taut as she glared at him. Shaking her head again, letting it go, "You should really be more careful.." she said, sheepishly. Putting her hands into her lap.

"And.. just to make sure you are, I'll only be careful if you are, yea?" she said, looking to him straight, raising a brow. "So, if want me to be safe, you'll be safe too, okay?"

Yul nodded, wrapping both his hands around his milk tea. "Yeah. I should. I really should." His voice was tinged with emotion. After a moment, he flashed her an apologetic smile. It had been a day with highs and lows.

Her suggestion made Yul laugh softly, joyfully. "Okay. I promise. I'll do my best if you will." He smiled at her, his expression fond. "You know, the virtue that my clan values the highest is compassion. So believe me when I say that I very much admire your kindness, Ichika-san."

"I do like to believe you, Yul-san," she said with a little smile, propping herself up and getting her own hand onto her drink and pulling it a little closer. Grabbing the straw gracefully with her other hand, "I am glad you're okay though.." she said, squinting at him a little, "since," she chuckled a little into her straw, "well you're sitting here across from me and definitely pretty.. lively? Lively, yea," she chuckled a little again and then took another sip of her drink.

"Lively." Yul grinned. "I like it. Yeah, that sounds about right for me. I've definitely been called worse things."

He took a long drink of his tea, slurping up some of the strange dark balls, then sighed. "Hard to believe this thing isn't even two weeks, huh? It feels like it's just started, and now it's almost half over." He chuckled. "And in other ways, it feels like it's been going on for a while."

Ichika nodded with a soft smile, "Don't even feel like the same girl who was joking with you on the shuttle down," she said with a soft laugh, sipping a little again.
