Shokomaru took to the tests with a positive attitude. Even though he knew his kenjutsu was shit and he moved in combat like a drunk slug. The Shiba bushi probably took a lot of pleasure in beating the crap out of him.

But then came juijutsu, and he was able to struggle through, reversing grapples and throwing opponents down to stay on his feet. It was not impressive, but it as clear he was at least capable.

When asked if he would perform some shady command for his charge despite misgivings, he held back quite a bit. Offering only enough of an explanation to see that it would be done, but in a way that satisfied the judge's perceptions of honor without causing a scene.

Really, it was all grunt work. Not his thing.

Shugenja were usually the ones being defended, but that was not going to stop FULL ON FOXEH having a go at yojimbo-ing. It looked fun!

The two Phoenix attacked but their bokken skills were no match for the FLYING FOX . . . ahem I mean the resolute defence of a trained Kitsune. It was a skill taught in Kitsune schools after all.

Rolls reversed was a bit trickier. He hurled himself at the 'thug', even managing to climb the Phoenix's back in a useless attempt to bring him down. The 'thug' just walked around without any interference before finally shaking off the Fox.

The Test of Law was easy! Izumi was amazed they asked such easy questions. He did not even realise he got less questions than other competitors because it took the examiners so long to figure out what he had just said.

With the test done, Izumi wondered what all these yojimbo went on about. This was EASY.

Atsumori himself made an unremarkable showing, perhaps owing in part to the fact he was paying too much attention to the other competitors... for the awesome drawings he was already planning to add to his video. He didn't manage to protect his imaginary charge from attack, and his attempts at legal reasoning were rather laughable.

The grappling event was a success, at least; he wrestled the 'thug' to the ground with the gentle inexorability all too well known by certain wayward crocodiles that had strayed too far from their proper habitats.
