he rolled his eyes. He knew the other clans cared, he knew his didn't, but he also knew it came down to appearances in the end.

"Anyway, it's nothing compared to how nice this is", he felt along the back of her outfit, but didn't try to unfasten anything, mostly he was massaging the muscle there. "Even being around three beauties like that, all I could do was complain."

Akemi enjoyed the massage, especially at the end of a day like this.

"I'm not sure they're any younger than us... But they don't seem they have to deal with life as much as us."

She raised her fleshcraft up in the air:

"Or at least they're not as forward about it as one-armed soldier Akemi and disillusioned commander Shokomaru."

He took the fleshcraft hand and put it to his chest.

"There's a lot that goes on, even in the hearts of the disillusioned, Akemi-hohei", he told her. "And even still, I know they're kids, and idealistic, and likely overly demanding of themselves, even." He smiled. "Regardless of that, though...despite them being human and much deeper than I dug, they're really just no fun."

She fondled his cheek:

"They can be fun sometimes... But they definitely aren't as interesting as you. Or at least not interesting in a fun way. Some are just kinda the bad kind of crazy. You're more of my kind of crazy."

"Good crazy is fucking hard to find", he agreed and got handsy again while kissing her.

"Should i call for the food?" a little more handsy.

"Or do we skip it? I'm good either way."

A knowing smile:

"Hard choice. Give me a second to pretend to think about it while I look at my communicator as if the question didn't actually matter to me and I'd rather answer my messages."

And a frown:

"Damn. I have, for real, like 6 missed calls from Moshi Atena in the last ten minutes and they keep coming."

"Moshi-san?" He vaguely remembered a mantis girl. "It's probably important. Go ahead, I'm fine here."

He busied himself with the fold of her dress along her hip and thigh.

"My roommate. She's a bit peculiar so this is probably nothing. But better safe than sorry."

She picked up the call:

"Yes..."

A sudden silence then:

"Okay. Are you hurt? Are there other people with you? Could you tell me where you are right now?

A Crab? Which Cr... Can any of them help with your bleeding?

Atena... Or is it Kystal? I need more details. Are your wounds grievous? Are other people wounded? Are the Phoenix authorities around?"

She covered the micro and looked at Shokomaru, teeth clenched.

"Fucking fuck of fucketing fucks. A boat was attacked apparently. Might have both Crab and Spider casualties. No names yet."

She pointed her free thumb at her back:

"Help me remove my dress would you?"

He had a quip ready, but he'd heard her conversation. He stood, all but picking her up off him, but he knew she'd stay on her feet and immediately started getting to work.

"Moshi-san is going to be alright, though? And which of my clan was there, do you know? And wait...", his hand hesitated. "Casualties..." he knew the meaning, and it didn't always mean a KIA. He shook his head and unfastened her outfit entirely. "Did you bring a change or..."

Wait, she wasn't looking to do this quick and then leave was she? No...

"We should both go, I guess..."

"I have a spare of clothes I can actually run around in in my bag, yes. Help me change into that."

She stood and stretched her arms to help him, except for the hand that was holding the communicator she put back against her ear. Her mind was not in a fun place anymore.

"Rescue should be en route. Stay in the room. Will send Kyoko to you too, she won't be able to do much, but she can contact me if you lose consciousness.

Do you know the Crab's name?"

Akemi covered the microphone again time for a few swears then back to it.

"There's a shady bar in town called the Drunk’n Crab. I'll send you the coordinates...

Then she made a noise that was basically a scream of rage self-strangled to not deafen the whole restaurant.

"Sorry, couldn't get much details from Atena. The hemorrhage certainly wasn't helping her focus on the important points. Need to call the other Crabs to learn more about the issue. You should probably do the same with your Spider friends."

Deadpan.

"Are we cursed Sho?"

"No, just samurai shit." He hugged her and walked her out.

She gave him a quick peck before passing the door, back in her usual if more messy than usual suit and already wrapped up in her coat:

"Take care commander. There is always a tomorrow as long as we live."
