"A waver...? If there is a test of piloting, that is?" she mused thoughtfully.

Interestingly, she already had a similar wager with Hayato. "Or something else?"

"Exactly." Yul stopped, smirking at her, arms crossed over his chest. "A wager to see which one of us does better."

He pursed his lips. "Now, what should the stakes be? The winner, uh... or the loser... hmmm." He waved a hand. "You got any ideas?"

She nodded, smirking smugly.

"Sounds like a deal. And if I win, you'll wear a full suit, picked out by me, on the final day of the miai when the partners are picked."

Yul hesitated a moment, then nodded. "As long as it looks good. No dressing me up as an Otori or anything."

He continued to frown, crossing his arms, as he considered Hyeon-ju. "Okay. But if I win..." He smirked, "-you have to relax for a day. Cut lose, go with your gut. Basically..." He spread his arms. "Be like me. Think you can handle it?"

She gritted her teeth for a moment. Then relaxed, stoicism returned.

"I don't think anyone can ever be quite as... relaxed, as you. But fine. It's a bet." Hyeon-ju was confident she was going to win anyway.

"Just relaxed about protocol and procedure. I'm plenty serious about important things." Yul frowned, but this was another argument they'd had any number of times.

Smirking, he held out his hand. "Alright, Wasp. You're on. Let's do it."

"Alright. It's a bet."

She shook her head, bemused. "Believe it or not, that is actually my second bet regarding this miai. Tsuruchi-san and I have a bet on who will do best in the Orbital Defense-challenge."

"Oh, really?" Yul's eyebrows went up. "He's not a pilot, though. Even if he is a really good shot. But I guess if the Orbital Defense challenge isn't a piloting one..."

Yul shrugged. "So what did you bet him?"

"We're betting on who the top three will be. I haven't quite decided yet, but I have tomorrow to ponder it further as well. As for what we're betting... I'm not telling."

She didn't need to tell Yul everything.

Yul stared at her a few more moments, and then shook his head with a chuckle. "Fine. Be that way."

They had reached their destination. Yul jerked his head towards the entrance. "Alright. Here we go. Milk tea and a cheesecake, as promised. Whatever you like." He studied her for a moment longer, then shook his head, smiling as he lead the way into the shop.

It was of course one of the slightly prizier ones because of the effort it took to make and the extra additions, so she was certainly going to squeeze the last zeni Yul had left now.
