“We didn’t... become the great clan... by just... jogging everywhere.”
Shoan tries to lever herself up but her hand slips and she ends up face planting before slowly raising a clenched fist into the air.

“Lion forever!... And then afterwards a shower, and an ice pack.”

“Break days.” Hide tried moving one leg to stand, but that proved impossibly. “Break days after big workouts. Helps the muscle building process.”

“I’d say my muscles are fine, better than fine even.”
Shoan appears to be writhing against a bar stool in an attempt to use it for leverage to get her standing.

“Not your muscles aren’t impressive Matsu-san.”

"I mean, I'm very impressive." Hide weakly brought up her arms and gave Shoan a flex.

“Hmmm, nice”

For once, Shoan’s gut feelings and her higher brain were on the same track... it might be the oxygen deprivation.

“Give me a second... floor’s slippery. I’ll come over there and help you up.”
She’s almost wiggled half way up the stool now.

Hide watched Shoan struggle to pick her self up, more than a bit amused.

“Was that admiration that I sense, Murame-san?”

“Muscles are the result of hard work and dedication, there is much admire there... and they also often look nice.”
Finally have reached a semi-standing position, Shoan pauses for a few moments to make sure she’s steady before she starts limping towards Hide.

“I have always had a high regard for you family Matsu-san.”

Hide began to sit up more, prepared to accept Shoan’s help.

“I mean, if you like well-toned musculature, there is much to admire about my kin. Myself included.”

With a hint of a smile Shoan leans down and offers Hide her hand.

“A well-tones musculature and modesty, that is what I remember most from my time on Matsu Prime.”

“Eh? You trained on Matsu Prime as well?” Hide accepted the hand offered, trying to push herself up with her legs. It was a lot easier with a hand to hold onto.

Shoan grunts slightly as she leans back and pulls, her own legs shaking slightly.

“Hai. My family has trained there for generations. I spent almost all my life there.”
The Murame’s brows come together for a moment before her face smoothes again.

“You were trained there also? You certainly did strike me as a Prime Matsu.”

“Yeah, Matsu Prime is the place I call home. Haven’t been back for a while, though.” Hide’s legs wobbled a bit as she was able to stand. To steady herself, she moved to use the wall as a support. “Maybe if the stars align and we’re both planet side at the same time, we could grab a drink or something.”

"I would like that, although of course, I would have to race you to the bar....although we might then destroy the bar."

“If we both remain in our Clan after the miai, it could be a nice little thing we do whenever we can.” Hide couldn’t help but smirk. “Become menaces to all those that walk the streets on our way to the bar.”

“Become the ‘Miai Matsu Marauders?’ It’s not a bad goal at all.”
Cleary Hide has something figured out. Her reputation as a genius seemed well founded.

“You have a good match in mind already then? Someone to bring into the Clan?”

“Well, only if I get more points soon. I’m a little behind her in that regard.” Hide’s hand subconsciously moved to her chest, where she had a large wound just days prior. “Ending up in the Crab wouldn’t be too bad, as far as Clans go. I think I’d fit in.”

Shoan looks Hide up and down, her face politely neutral.

“Yes, I think you would.”
There’s a slight frown at the hand movement, but she doesn’t pry.

“And it would benefit them to have exposure to samurai who understand honour.”

“I mean, my intended does not lack honor.” Hide said this with great conviction in her statement. It was a fact. “How about you, though? Any lucky samurai that you have your eye on?”

“There were two and... one is now matched and the other feels a match is impossible. So at the moment.... not really. I am glad you hear you are doing so well, it gives me something to aspire to.”

“That’s... Too bad. Well, as long as you find someone agreeable before the end of the miai, all is well?” Hide noted that there were plenty of good options. “Also, anyone in our Clan is still fair game. Not ideal, however. I know Akodo-sama has been also struggling a bit.”
