"I believe, Kuchiki-san, that I will take that as a compliment." Fusako grinned a bit before looking a touch more casual. "What of yourself though? I'd happily answer questions all day, but surely you must have matters of importance to you as well."

"Good as it was intended to be one." He replied before giving a slight shrug of his shoulders "Well I make no secret I value intelligence, someone who can hold a bit of a conversation. If I were to marry out a partner with a bit of an open mind would be appreciated, given my origins I have some beliefs that many honorable samurai may find....distasteful." he said carefully but resolute, he wouldn't back down from who he was.

"I can't say I don't have appreciation for honorable things, but at the same time, I've never seen any harm in discussing controversial things. I suppose I get that from my mother's side being a bit ostracized." She paused, looking thoughtfully at Satoru. "Mmm... You mentioned at the pool that you were a doctor. Is that purely of medicine, or do you have degree's and interests in other matters of research?"

"Ostracized? How did that happen? Certainly not something you hear everyday" he asked with a slightly raised eyebrow before moving to her question.

"My main emphasis is medicine but I am quite knowledgeable and hold degrees in biology and genetics. As far as interests go mine are far reaching and varied. I know a great many things on various subjects but science tends to be my main focus."

She gave a slight smile. "Mmm, it just so happens that both subjects have the same conversational continuation. My mother's branch of the Asahina are arms researchers. If you know anything of the Asahina, you can see why that might cause difficulties. It is also why I ask about your research interests."

Satoru nodded "ahh yes I could see that being a controversial choice for a pacifist family. What led them to choose such a path knowing the likely fallout?"

"There has always been a branch of the Asahina that has had something to do with fighting. Even those that dedicate themselves to going to war to heal Crane soldiers have from time to time been seen as outliers. The fact that there are arms in the modern era that are enhanced by the kami is not something the Crane can ignore, so there has always been a need for weapon development done by shugenja. Being the priests of the Crane, there always were going to be some of my family that served that purpose." She gave a faint smile, more wispy than full.

"Fulfilling a necessary role to be rewarded with disdain, i believe that is something that i can relate to on some level Asahina-sama." He said with a serious expression.

"I have some knowledge of creating weapons with kami, with chemicals, other things. All casual curiosity of course." She could likely sense he was holding something back, Satoru had never been good at lying but presumably he did so with good reason.

"It is merely a thought," she noted softly. "I would not have your mind wasted on commerce when there are other opportunities my direct influence might allow."

"That you think highly of my mind through only our brief interactions and worry for it being wasted is more of a compliment than you know Asahina-sama." And truly there was warmth in his voice and his eyes were more expressive than she had seen them yet. "My greatest fear is that I will end up with one who does not appreciate or stimulate my mind. So far you have proven to do both."

Fusako gave a soft laugh into her hand. "Mmm, that is because I seek to stimulate my own. There are perhaps some trained as courtiers that see only socializing as important, but I believe that one needs to be as smart and fit as charming. It is all a part of a more important whole."

"Makes sense to me, though i lack a courtier's charm or training. Not something I ever thought to work on. Easier to keep people at a distance anyway." He said a shadow passing over his eyes before it was banished by cold indifference again.

"But it certainly sounds like whoever you end up with will be getting a full package indeed. Clever, beautiful, successful, complex, a lucky suitor it will be that catches your eye."

"For a man lacking in charm, you are certainly a flatterer Kuchiki-san," she said with a wry expression. "I can understand it a bit though. Even if I am quite a social woman, I do still find much peace and comfort in my time alone by myself. I can see it being quite soothing."

"I am an analyst, flattery is often insincere, what I offer is my observations of you Daidoji-sama." he said as he adjusted his glasses slightly "I do not so much enjoy the peace and quite as attempt to avoid connections most of the time, a tendency that has proven somewhat....challenging during this experience."

"I think that you've done quite well for yourself, at least with myself," she commented with a slight smile. "In fact, if you wish, we could meet again, Perhaps a stroll through the gardens in a few days?"

Satoru nodded "I appreciate you saying so Asahina-sama, I have enjoyed our time together so far. I think a walk through the gardens sounds like a lovely evening."

"Good. Then you may contact me when you think is a good time. I don't believe I gave you my com number before." She took out her densai and slid it over with the number on the screen.

"Indeed it would have been difficult to do in the pool unless you were hiding the densai in your suit which would have been a feat." He said with a straight face as he input her number into his own device and put his own into hers.

"Oh, it was close by enough, but I had no room in my suit certainly," she said with an amused look, taking it back. "Do you wish me to see you out to the Inn's door?"

"I would not say no if you wished it but do not feel you have to trouble yourself Asahina-sama."
