The kitten seemed content to curl up in Shoan last arm, eyes open and surveying its domain. The purring continues too though it was punctuated after a few moments by a big kitten yawn.

"Seems he might like you. He was pretty scratchy yesterday, but one of the Phoenix here spent a lot of time with him so he's calmer."

“Sssh. He’s trying to sleep.”
Shoan starts rocking him gently, a victim of cat mind control.

“I’ve barely seen anything of our hosts. I’m glad one was able to make a good impression at least.”

Maybe Shoan would make a good mother... Weird.

"Yeah, most i met seemed to be more concerned about the birds here then the miai... Shiba Atsumori-san isn't too bad though. Of course he just cares about all creatures and not just Otori." The mantis replied trying to keep his voice low to not to disturb the kitten. who had closed his eyes but was still contentedly purring.

"Yeah, he wasn't all that bad really. I mean he can use a haircut and a bit of fashion sense, but itf you can look past then and the fact he is probably a vegetarian...." Hayato trailed off for a few moments as he stifled a sneeze.

"He's pretty easy to get along with." The Kittens purrs would eventually quiet as nap mode was fully engaged. The kitten would probably be ready to terrorize the common room again soon, but he'd likely want to eat first.

“Awww, he’s all tuckered out.”
Shoan supplies one last rub before looking around for somewhere to lay the kitten down

“A vegetarian? I suppose nobody is perfect.”

There is a small cat bed in the vacinity of where he was playing, an optimum location for kitten storage hen they were sleeping. "Yeah he'd been playing for a while before you got here." Hayato replied with a mysterious expression behind his mask.

"Right, I mean I can't say for sure... but I imagine it's true."

Shoan carefully settles the kitten and then pulls a blanket over him.

“He’s lucky you found him, not to mention are fighting through allergies for him. It says good things about your parenting skills.”

"Ah, i just didn't want him wound up shot wandering around the range. Not really sure that says anything about my parenting skills." He goes to run a hand through his hair but stops as he sees the thick gloves.

"Or if most here are even intrested in parenting skills at all."

“Parenting requires discipline, patience, kindness and wisdom. I think those are all traits one should look for in a partner. Maybe the kitten is a good test of character. You could see how prospective matches react to him?”

That reminded her. Shoan looksup at Hayato and mouths ‘how did drinks go last night?’

"Well, Marksmanship needs at least two of those, so I figure i'm half way there." Which two? Probably not kindness or wisdom, well maybe wisdom. "that might be a good idea though. I mean I'll have to spend a lot more time sneezing if I want to do that though."

The question about the date had Hayato looking away though, at least for a moment as his hand came up glove and all to rub the back of his neck. "Oh, it was good. It uh went pretty well."

He didn't respond instead just turning towards the Lion and sticking his tongue out at her.

A mask didn't allow for mouthing words, and while he had pulled it down to stick out his tongue he didn't leave it that way. So instead he pulled out one of his sheets of origami paper he kept in his pocket and using his gloves hands scrawled a message on it.

"You don't even know what happened!"

The first line was scratched out as Hayato moved to write in the space under it.

"Ok, lets hear what you think happened?" His handwriting was a bit off due to having to squint against his water eyes but it was still clearly legible.

He took a moment to ready what she wrote before scratching off and scribbling down a few more things.

"My move?"

"Demonstrate".

"And I didn't play with my inhalator!"
