"ARGH!" screamed out Shin when he was zapped with a surge of green energy. It was too much for him to take and he collapsed on the ground. He laid there nearly motionless with only shallow breathing emitted from his gas mask.

Isawa Shin is Down. Combat is effectively over.

Yul approached the fallen tsukai carefully, his pistol at the ready. He held the pistol in him for a few moments, then slid it back into the holster.

He looked back at the others, giving them a nod, and Hyeon-ju a significant look. "He's down. I'm going to go make sure the area's secure, if anyone wants to come with."

He gave Hyeon-ju another nod, his expression serious, as he moved to check out the building, rifle at the ready.

She wanted to just shoot the guy now as he was helplessly on the ground. Yul's words pulled her back into the immediate concerns though, and she gave him a nod.

Picking up her rifle and sheathing her katana for now, Hyeon-ju moved over to Yul. "I got your six."

Shin wasn't motionless but he laid there helplessly as he struggled to even move his arms.

It looked like Shin was on the run, given his hasty choice of hideout. The interior of the outpost still had useable living set up, if it wasn't for the scent of decayed flesh that hung in the air. The upstairs of the outpost would reveal a different story, almost acting like a morgue for his experiments and kept the discarded belongings of a poor eta he managed to kill to make more of zombies.

Thankfully, it didn't seem like he was in the process of making any more of the giant monstrosities but he did have ample notes about it, splayed out on the outpost's whiteboard as reminders of the process. There were several tailoring and surgical tools on a table, almost being used interchangeably in his craft. It seemed he had already begun trying to cultivate the same sort of stubborn fungi found in the underbelly of the Kiyonami.

"Seems like we're not completely done yet," Nozomi commented. "The notes about the creation don't seem necessary to keep. But the fungus... It might be useful to know more about it."

Yul's lips twisted with distaste. "But who would we give it to? It's no use off Asakaze. And on it..." Yul grimaced, his expression dark. "I've got some other concerns for those on Asakaze."

"I was more thinking about how they should avoid such fungi. Unless... You think this goes deeper than Shin?"

"I don't know... I think I would prefer to burn it all." Hyeon-ju felt this all was rather heretical.

"... From what I understand, the Lord Magistrate is... not exactly reliable. Maybe the Governor himself?"

"Would the governor appreciate us bringing a restrained man in? It'd be more align with protocol to turn him in to the magistrate." She glanced back and then shrugged. "Or we could burn it all and leave it at that. This is a bit of an extrajudicial matter on our part."

She glanced idly at her spells. "Did you need me to heal you, by the way?"

Shoan glances down at the various shards of metal embedded in her side.
"Only if you have the time Kitsu-san, I cannot remember when I last had a tetanus shot."

Yul's lips thinned, but he nodded. "If we need to bring him to the magistrate, that's what we'll do. This place needs to be cleansed, the sooner the better."

He turned to Nozomi, bowing, strangely formal. "Unless you can sanctify it by yourself, of course, Kitsu-san. I don't really know how this works."

"I would prefer to just let this bastard bleed out in a ditch," if she wasn't wearing a mask, she might've have considered spitting.

"But... no, we are better than him. He will pay for his crimes, including all the dishonor it brings. And I would rather not have any of you in more trouble."

mildly"Any trouble that comes from executing a tsukai is trouble worth having. But he has wronged you most Utaku-san, if you wish we take him in I will assist."

Slowly, Yul nodded. "Okay. We'll bring him in. I'm pretty sure I know what the punishment will be, anyway."

He looked around, a thin smile concealed behind the gas mask. "We did it. Matsu-san's killer will face justice."

Taking the rope off of his bag, he worked on securing the injured prisoner. Just in case.

"Maybe not so close to the deeply infested place," Nozomi said in regards to healing. She was still a little paranoid about any potential contamination. "Sanctifying this place... I think it might take awhile."

"If it's no trouble, I would gladly accept Kitsu-san's healing and purifying rites, once we have put some distance between us and this place."

“We could perform a rudimentary sanctification by burning absolutely everything? That might do for the time being.”

Yul grimaced, gesturing down at the tsukai. "I think, with him out of the picture, it'll be okay for a bit. It's humid here, but it's hot. I've seen fires get out of control back home, and it's not pretty."

He trussed up Shin, if not skillfully, at least thoroughly. "Should we get him out of here?"

"We'll turn him in then with the place intact. Only we can stop forest fires, after all," Nozomi said, pushing up her glasses.

She scratched her head and waited until they were at least a bit away from the place to go all healing on them. A bit disappointed in her first bit of healing, she did much better when it came to the Unicorn. Awkward.
