Matsu Hide has Kuni Eriko in her grasp!



The ronin woman was surprised by the overzealous grapple from Hide. Instead of wrestling with the Matsu, she decided best it was just to make her own escape. She made her way forward to the truck and opened the door to be surprised to see that Koseki was already there! Reaching for her side and withdrew her stun tonfa.



The sword ronin carefully sized up Akemi with her sword raised and charged at her with a side slash. Her sword grazed her sides as it managed to catch a soft spot in her armour.

A Mantis, eh?, she thinks.

She nods to Akihiko as he makes his way back, somewhat frustrated at his retreat... but wasting a soul insisting here in his condition would only make things worse.

Seeing a furious Hide reach for Eriko, the other Ronin reaching for the car and Akemi engaged in a violent fight with the other Ronin, it's clear to Shion she should take down that wayward Mantis-born Ronin to avoid him hitting the others.

This time she really needs a hit. So she aims even more carefully...

Tetsubo and katana clashed again in the improvised arena. Turned out her opponent had only managed to rip on the fleshcraft even if she managed to bypass the armor. Meanwhile Akemi wasn't as subtle in her approach, as her weapon went for both armor and flesh at the same time.

Now that her opponent was most likely down or close enough. She looked around. Hide was evacuating Eriko... But most importantly the other lady was about to strike Koseki! She rushed to his side of course, eager to solve another problem with a simple pointy stick solution.

"Urrfff!" she said as she took the hit from the tetsubo, staggering back with shaky legs. Akemi could have heard a few cracks when she struck and the woman was bleeding from the mouth as she barely held up her katana in defense. However, it was only a facade of strength for the second she held the pose and then she collapsed face first.

With Eriko secured in Hide’s arms, she turned to the others and yelled out, “Got her!”

Her eyes, however, went up to the gunman and narrowed. “HEY FUCKFACE!” She then held up one hand and extended her middle finger to the sky. And proceeded to book it with Eriko in tow.

Right... She had Garou locked in on her crosshair. She was vaguely aware of the sounds and the movements around - a shot inside the van, a hard thud in the melee fight, the Matsu securing the hurt Kuni. But her mind was focused on the Ronin only.

She steadied her aim once again and pulled the trigger.

The man had been enjoying a near invulnerable position from the metal-panelled balcony of the barn. It perhaps came unexpectedly when a shot from down the field landed straight into his side, stopping his breath for a moment. The plate of his armour caught it but this was easily a warning sign. He scarcely even had time to react when the Matsu ran off the field with Eriko on her shoulder. And Akihiko was also gone now. He had both pieces in front of him and they both left his grasp. He saw the situation for what it was without objectives, a suicide mission.

He was done here but he was not done with them.

"This ISN'T OVER!" he cried out and quickly hightailed it from the second floor of the barn.

Gorou has fled the fight.



The tattooed woman staggered backwards from the shot hit her from the truck and now her partner had fallen in battle too! Her employer was gone and no amount of money was worth this trouble. She turned around and quickly slipped through the slight gap in the fence to break into a run.

The Escaping Ronin has fled the fight.

Combat is over.

Koseki let her run and pulled out his communicator. "Sit Rep. Everyone still in one piece?"

Cautiously he climbed out of the cab and looked around at the Team. Eriko was the priority, she looked like shit.

"You look like shit. Don't worry, we got you."

Hide let out a long sigh, her anger subsided as everyone seemed to be alive. "Holy shit. How did I not get shot?"

She looked down at Eriko, still in her arms, grimacing at the state she was in. "Fuck. What did they do to you..."

"Ugh..." Eriko moaned when Hide and Koseki spoke to her. While her eyes were open, it was questionable if she actually saw her. There was some bruising around her face as well as a broken nose, she was swallowing breathing from her mouth. That wasn't even going into detail what they did to her arms and hands. She was going to live but needed care and rest.

An investigation of the grounds would yield that the man and his ronin hires did spend the day here but never meant it to be a long term base. There were some chairs and a random bundle of cloth that someone might have used as a headrest while laying on the concrete floor. Other than some items of comfort like snacks and water, there were no personal items.

However, what was evident was that they seemed to have tried to torture the Kuni, there were some rope and some towels with plenty of water from a rain barrel. They didn't try cutting into her, thankfully. Her personal effects would be found in a stash here.

The truck itself was stolen property, evident by its broken car lock and the hacked activation controls. The truck was filled with a few portable tables and chairs, perhaps something that was brought in to facilitate the Fan-Con that was run not too long ago.

“We need to get her some help. Maybe... Maybe Mumei-san or Kitsu-san could tend to her?” Hide took out her communicator from her pocket, but didn’t send a message yet. “We all need to get back into the city.”

"Agreed. Let's get her back and then see if she needs a hospital stay." He looked around the scene and ook a load of images on his densai, just in case, then helped to gather up Eriko's things.

"Suggest we load back up into the ATV. We can always contact the Magistrate later, if Akodo-sama and Eriko-san want to go that route."

Once Kuni Eriko recovers, she owes her thanks to those who have successfully rescued her!

Akemi had esteemed greatly tattoo lady's tactical insight of departing before getting stuck between a shooty Firefly and a smashy Crab. In general these ronins had proven very good at managing the battlefield and their victory was only due to them being better trained and equipped at an individual level, and certainly not to Akihiko's strategy. Kind of a waste for such good soldiers to act as two-zeni bandits.

While they scoured the place in search of hints Akemi realized one of their adversaries was not so dead. Katana lady, in spite of two clear tetsubo strikes, was still breathing. Girl was decidedly impressive.

"Well lady, if you manage to survive the ride to the city, the day might not end so badly for you after all."

She lifted her over her shoulder and joined the group with this surprise package.

"Got one more place in the ATV for a respectable opponent... and someone who might be able to answer our questions? I can take someone conscious with me on my bike in exchange."

The woman was suffering from a few crack and fractured bones, as well as breathing shallowly, but she would live is stabilized.

There was also a perfectly useable stolen truck on site as well. Someone would be surely happy to have their chairs and tables back, in case there was another gaming Fan Con next year.

Seeing Akemi carrying the badly hurt, but breathing Ronin, Shion will nod at her and get a bit closer to them.

"We could try to patch her up a bit before we get back. Anyone's got medical supplies? I... am not really trained, but I suppose I could try to help at least..."

If she does try to help... she fails. As expected.

That leaves Akihiko to walk the way back badly hurt, doesn't it?
I suppose Shion is well enough to return on foot if necessary, or she could have come on Kurikoo's back and ride him back to the city since Akemi would have come riding double to begin with otherwise.

Also - leaving an attempt at a Med check on the Ronin here considering we have enough supplies to try, since it's nearing on Day Change and I may not check the forums again for some time. Please ignore it if we don't have supplies for that, or if someone is actually trained and would like to do the try instead. Hope this is ok, just don't want to delay things into the next day and I can't guarantee I'll check back for an answer in time.
