Only one thing could protect a brave samurai from such an ambush. A dive roll! Yul twisted, rolling to the side... semi-nimbly, anyway. The rifle made the roll a bit more awkward, Yul having to lengthen out his body to manage it properly.

"Looks like we're winging it!" He yelled as he brought his pistol to bear, eyes narrowing as he selected his target...

There's a bark of laughter as Shoan rolls the other way, bringing up her own weapon. It looked like one civilian flanked by two villains

"Toucan play at that game Yul-san!"
Shoan aims down the sights and fires at the villain on the right.

Yul snorted, barely managing to keep his shot on target. Still, his hands were steady enough anyway, and his shot hit true, downing the other villain.

"Alright." Yul nodded. "That's two civilians saved, two fowl villains down. Let's see what else they can throw at us." He shot Shoan a quick grin before advancing again, moving in his low crouch.

"So this is how you stay sharp, huh?" He asked as he moved, his voice tense.

There may have even been a matching grin for half a second, it's hard to say

The street opens up into a wide cobbled square with numerous civilian cutouts moving around on tracks, no villains in sight yet.


"It's one method, the shooting range will help keep your accuracy sharp but reflexes and moment to moment decisions? I feel they're best trained doing something like this."
Shoan covers Yul, her own rifle sweeping left and right as they cautiously enter the area.
"...And it can be amusing to set your own courses."

"Yeah." Yul said. "I guess it's important to keep more than just yourself in mind. There's lots of times you can't just go in guns blazing.

He moved forward, and then to the side, sticking close to the edge of the building, checking 'windows' as he went by. "These civilians aren't doing a very good job of staying out of trouble." He nodded towards the center of the square. "Guess they didn't hear the gunfire, huh?"

"Might just be a rough part of town, maybe a civil war, masks vs chickens."
The quiet is broken a few moments later by a motor up above as a ruber chicken on a track hurtles along a roof top pursued by a band of mask wearers.
"Looks like we got a friendly pursued by hostiles."
It's a tricky shot from their angle, particularly if they're trying to guarantee not hitting the chicken.
"He must have flocked up some how."

Yul's eyes narrowed. "Okay, cover me. I'll flank, you wait for a clean shot." He flashed her a grin. "Make sure they don't fly the coop."

He dashed suddenly to the side, gun raised. He fired as he went, hitting the rearmost one ("Wing'ed 'em", Yul called). But that one, of course, was the easiest to hit. He grimaced, aiming from cover, but wouldn't manage to get a good angle again...

Shoan fires off a barrage of shots, rolling her eyes at the equally dangerous barrage of puns.

Up above the chicken seems to be taking cover behind a stack of boxes as the helmet cut outs....menace it? Cutouts are limited in their menacing ability.

"He won't be able to hold out much longer, we could wait until they break cover and rush him to get some easy shots, or we could try something risky. Your call Yul-san, we're flying by the seat of our pants."

Solemnly, Yul shook his head. "We're not losing any chickens. You hear me, Shoan-san? We're not losing any chickens!"

Yul leaped over his cover, firing as he went.

"Yul-san, you crazy son of a-"
With a smirk Shoan stands up and provides covering fire for Yul. It would be risky but if he could somehow get on top of one of the park fences there'd be clear flanking shots into the masked villains above.

Yul more than willing, he was eager to climb something and shoot. With a battle-cry, he pulled himself atop the fence, firing one-handed, radiant blasts, felling one of the villains, another... only one left...

Click. The pistol ran dry.

Grimacing, Yul ejected the clip, reaching for the next. Everything seemed to be moving in slow motion.
"Sssssshhhhhhhhooooooooooootttt hhhhhhhheeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrr!" Yul yelled, his voice as slowed as everying else.

Shoan jumps up and does an utterly preposterous 360 degree spin reload quickshot onto the remaining villain as she flops over her cover in equally slow-mo

"Chiiiiicken-samaaaaaaaa!"

There was a pause. For the moment, all the villains were dead.

Chuckling, Yul slid down from the fence. He took a moment to recover his temporarily expended clip before making his way over to Shoan. Smiling, he offered his hand.

"Nice shot." He smirked. "Guess that puts you at the top of the pecking order."

"......"
"...."
"..."
Shoan accepts the hand with an amused but...pained expression
"Well, now I'm beginning to regret the chickens, but that last manoeuvrer was...poultry in motion."

Helping Shoan up was temporarily stalled as Yul laughed. "Wow, Shoan-san. That one. Just wow."

Muscles tightening, he helped her up. "This is a pretty good course you have set up. Did we get them all?"

"I think so, there is one last ultra difficulty area, but that's only if you want a true challenge."
She shoots him a thumbs side ways as she stands and stretches her arms and neck

Yul looked at her, his eyebrows going up.

"Ultra difficulty, huh?" He shrugged, even as he loaded a fresh pack into his pistol. "Hey, you know I'm good for it. Where do we go?" He looked around, eyes narrowing. "The chickens are counting on us, right?"

"You're clucking right Yul-san."
Shoan gestures to a pair of closed double doors that appear to open into a large concrete structure of some kind.

"It's in there and it will be a little more...intense. Once inside the scenario doesn't start for a few moments."

Yul studied her curiously for a few moments. "Intense, huh? You've got me even more curious. Well, we've come this far, huh?"

He looked at the doors. "Okay. Let's stack up. I'll breach, you cover me." He took up position by the door. Once Shoan joined him, he raised a fist and three fingers, then two, then one...

Yul burst through the door, moving quickly, his weapon at the ready...
