As the others had chosen their spouses, Geppu was not particularly surprised that he was going to pick for himself rather than be picked. Slowly, he ascends the stage and gives a nod to the nakodo who began to recite his lineage. After his pedigree had been given, he cleared his throat and gesticulated with a hand.

"There has long been a rift between the sons and daughters of the Spider and the disciples of Togashi and those that followed him. Today, I work to begin healing that rift. I choose Mirumoto Minami."

Satoru was in his finest obsidian priest robes, prayer beads around his neck mostly wood with occasional beads of jade. He was groomed to perfection, not a hair out of place as they read off his lineage.

"I choose Tsuruchi Masako." He said with his normal dispassionate voice and cold eyes staring out to the crowd before turning and leaving the stage.

Hide, in her dress military uniform, stood up. She strode to take her position as her genealogy was read out loud. It didn’t go back very far, because she wasn’t a Unicorn. Though, her mother was. A Moto in fact. She was confident in her choice, and her determination to see it through must have gotten the notice of Kisada, as her soon-to-be betrothed has said the previous day.

The Matsu scanned the crowd, her eyes locked onto her choice. The time was now.

When it came time for her to stand, Ichika was halfway through a thought. Quickly hiding that fact she took a deep breath and walked forward. Stepping up onto the stage she took the few careful steps, and looked out over those gathered. Letting her hand fall down to her side she fiddled with her index finger behind the hip of her kimono.

Glancing to the Nakado beside her they gave her a little nod. With a bright smile she gave herself a confident nod and then delivered the words everyone was currently waiting for.

"Doji Ichika will marry Suzume Shion," she said, a little smile. "The Doji hope that this marriage will bring a benefit to both Clan's and that all marriages made during this Miai do so," she bowed deeply to the crowd. Giving way for the Nakado to recite the lineage for them both.

Of note, when Ichika's direct ancestors, her parents, were mentioned she glanced down and thought inwardly. However a nudge to move on for the others guided her down from the stage once more.
