Four tents? Which one to choose? Pulling out his Densai, Hayato took a open to pull open a small app and check his days fortune.



Rose? Was that pink or red? Deciding to error in the direction of the lighter shade. Hayato made his way towards the Pink tent stepping under it's roof and pushign up his recently purchased shades to get a better look inside. For the most part it seemed empty still, but that might change soon and until then there was booze.

Approaching one of the servers he took a cup and had it filled with watery sake, no reason to get blitzed by drinking shochu, right?

Nozomi's Crane roommate had left earlier for morning exercises and would not be actually be present until much later that day. However were one to look at her bunk they would see it made up with a pair of folded pajamas resting on the bed. Also on the bed was a plush dog in a pilot's outfit. At present he had been left sitting up and a little note had been set on him in such a way to give the impression the plush was holding it:

"Shiragiku is... nice. Agriworld. The Hungry Dead do cause issues from time to time, but our priests can handle them. Lots of clouds. The holdings of my family there are brutalist in architecture, yet my mother made sure that there is some beauty in the starkness of it." He seemed to casually mention the issues with the realm of Gaki-do as easily as oje would a bad rainstorm.

"Our planetary holdings are usually more... unforgiving than what others would want. But they have their charms."

The small lizard nuzzled against Moriko's hand, hissing softly, somehow managing to sound affectionate, even if it was a lean, mean, insect mauling machine. The critter was evidently grateful for being freed, unaware that the person helping it had gotten it trapped in the first place.



"Hsss.... <3"

She gave a small nod to Tsugiharu at his confirmation. It was quite interesting enough truth told, but the dance floor made for a loud and busy conversation. "Not bad for a doctor, no.

Fusako's attention went to Ruho as he danced. He was quite skilled indeed. It was captivating...

Yul nodded, his expression becoming more serious. "I get it. Sounds like you do some good work for the Spider."

And then his grin returned. "Yeah. That's what a high-five is all about. When you work great together, or someone did a good job, and you want to congratulate them, that sort of thing." He chuckled. "There's other things, too, but hey, one thing at a time. Unicorn secrets, you know." It wasn't the time to tell Ryuu about the Unicorn butt-slap.

"These big beauties are... Otori!" Atsumori practically bounced on his toes as he addressed the camera. "They might look wild, but don't let that fool ya! People here on Asakaze tame these remarkable native birds and use them for all kinds of work. They're a lot like horses used to be on Old Rokugan."

He glanced back over his shoulder at a sudden welter of squawking and flapping. Two of the birds were settling some kind of dominance dispute, fortunately with more noise than actual violence. Chuckling a little, he turned back to face his camera as it hovered steadily in midair. "Well, they're a mite rough around the edges right now.... The herders just brought them back from grazing in the fungal forest, see. But according to the locals, this is just the right time to train a new bird for ridin'!" He grinned at the lens. "Let's see how I do!"

Atsumori continued his cheerful patter as he pointed out the bird he planned to try his luck on, a rather large specimen with an especially spiky feather crest on its head. "What a princess, even has a crown and all. She's a female, see, you can tell by the size and..."

Talking softly and continuously, he approached the otori--which maintained an air of majestic calm--gave it a scratch on the poll, and then, before it had time to be suspicious, leapt astride in a flourish of feathers. The great bird flapped and pranced, but Atsumori stuck on with aplomb, even freeing a hand to flash a thumbs-up to the camera.

"... and that's how it's done here on Asakaze! Right, Princess-san?"

Princess tossed her head haughtily, posing for the camera like a titanic avian supermodel.

"Right!"

“Ready?” She looked to the other two women, gauging the reaction of the others. “On three.”

“One.” Eyes darted to Shoan.

“Two.” This time to Chiyoko.

“Three!” Hide flipped over her list, practically slamming the list onto the table.

And it revealed... Her masterpiece.

"My own died when I was eight." Ruhe slammed the cup to slam the door in his mind on recalling anything about it at that moment. "Then let's make one! Bartender, bring some acoustic shit here. I left my instruments in the room." Soon, bottles, glasses and the counter would serve fingers and chopsticks as an improvised percussion. Words had already formed in Ruhe's mind, and got their thrash-like machine gun pace. It seemed the metalhead's mind was fertile on alcohol. He set the basic rhythm on counter, then introduced fast diversification along the way.

Fatal Scripture
Fatal Scripture is based on a famed renga series, condensed into a movie. The son of a Seppun Emerald magistrate has come across a book dropped by the Moto Death Gods which he uses to enact his extreme brand of justice in secret. He has the power to kill whoever he wishes, so long he knows their name. This draws the attention of an eccentric Kuni Jade magistrate and so begins an elaborate game of cat and mouse to catch one another.

"Tetsu...Hi, I didn't know you were going to be here? Did they tell you you were security escorts for a Miya diplomatic conference too? I am sorry to inform you we have been duped, this isn't a diplomatic conference at all it's a marriage tournament!"

Akihiko starts to smile at the beginning of the Unicorn's story, but by the end his lips are pursed and his eyes look angry.

"Utaku-san, I commend your attitude. Your service brings you well-deserved honor, especially in the face of that experience." He shakes his head, clearly trying to quell some anger. As he speaks again, it's with fire that few people in his life have seen: "Please forgive my saying, but every time..." He battles back, trying not to offend. "It is most unfortunate that bushi -- not just your clan, of course, mine too, and probably the rest -- pilots especially..." He clenches his fists, and pauses to breathe deeply. After another breath he looks back at her. As he speaks, he goes slowly, still visibly unsettled.

"I think it's very important that we hold ourselves and our comrades to higher standards. We know samurai, but especially those in positions of regard, like pilots, will set the example that others follow. When the example is..." He clearly struggles for a more proper word than what first came to mind, and finally gives up. "When the example is that..." More head-shaking disbelief.

Finally, he pulls together what he really means: "Stupid things like that are what puts weak spots in the armor that a team needs to survive and win. It won't seem so funny to them when they're calling Wasp for help, and that half second flash of bad memory is the half second when they're killed." The stern look on Akihiko's face isn't directed at Hyeon-ju, but is hardly appropriate for the gardens.

Most of Atsumori's remaining holofootage of the morning's adventures was, of necessity, autopilot drone video--he could keep up with the sentinel course, more or less, but certainly not while also manipulating the camera. On the auto setting, the little camera drone followed its owner's short-range comm signal at a roughly preset distance, capturing a slightly jerky montage of the energetic Phoenix making potshots at targets--most of which hit, if not spectacularly--sprinting down rough trails, and taking numerous undignified tumbles down the branches and stems of fungal "trees."

"Whew! These mushrooms are slipperier than they look, eh?" Atsumori bounced upright up after yet another fall at the finish line, picking several tiny mushroom caps and one small lizard out of his hair. He was covered in mud, sweat, and fungal slime, and looked... absolutely thrilled, ready for another ri or two of slogging through malodorous jungle. "Oh, is that the end, then? Hello there, everyone!"

Waving cheerful greetings, he went to join the rather large group of participants who'd finished well before him.
