"Really? Didn't the Matsu have a vassal family of talented archers a long time ago?" Or had it been the Akodo perhaps? Now she was a bit uncertain, as she hadn't exactly been taking notes during that documentary.

"It does take a lot of training to be a pilot. Need more than just fast reflexes or talent with a stick; it requires a lot of awareness of one's surroundings. A pilot flies in a unit, and not alone. Being aware of their movements is crucial, and then you also have to be aware of the enemy. At least planet-side, there is a limit to directions to keep in mind." She smirked a little at that. How far the Empire had come, to have battles in space...

"The Koritome," she nodded, "though I don't come from a branch family. I'd admit there is a part of me that misses the thrill of standing on the front lines. But it'd be a waste of my talents to go back at this point."

Listening to her explanation about piloting, she nodded gently. "That is not quite so different from what I do, in some ways. Awareness is crucial in sharpshooting. Being in sync with your spotter, having the situational awareness to know when to fire and when to hold your shot. Less technical knowledge, but much of the same awareness skills..."

And then she took a large swig of her cup, emptying it in one go. "And then there's knowing when it is time to take a breath and relax a bit." The smirk she offered was a bit more natural than the forced smile she offered at the beginning of the conversation. Her cup held out to allow a servant to get close enough to refill.

"Ah yes, that was the name. I just recalled it from a military-history documentary I saw some time ago... not that anyone uses bows anymore." That had certainly fallen to the side with the rise of firearms.

Likewise, she was enjoying talking shop to break the ice. It was one of the few things she felt she was good at talking about, without getting too personal.

"Mm. I'm not a bad shot myself, but according to the reports you would be the superior shooter between us, Matsu-san. I prefer a marksman's rifle myself over the HAR."

Hyeon-ju on the other hand was pacing herself with the sake.

"It is my specialty," she nodded, "though I've no doubt you'd fly circles around me. My tendency is more towards the Marksman's rifle, as it is more sensible for long range anti personnel ops compared to the HAR, but I would rate my proficiency with both weapons as functionally close to the same."

As Shirokiku entered the tent and accepted the stew graciously, she mostly stuck to observing the others in the tent, not wishing to cause a fuss. She did admit, she was perhaps too eager to begin discussing rifles - perhaps she would enter the conversation at a later, more appropriate timing.

But for now, stew. It wasn't Red Dragon stew, the gift from Togashi-o-kami which kept on giving, but any good stew is a welcome gift.

"Mm," she nodded with interest, drinking some more of the sake. "We should hit the shooting range sometime... if there is one here. Otherwise, there's probably something to shoot out outside the city-limits. There seemed to be a lot of wilderness here still."

"Is there a shooting range around here?"

The eagerness of such a timid looking creature to join in shooting propelled her into the conversation a little before she remembered herself. Realising her fault, she put aside her stew and offered a bow to both.

"Oh, forgive me please, both of you - I am Susumu Shirokiku."

"Kaf?" He asks before...



"Chiruha-sama! I guess this is where the locals happen to be! I thought it'd be good for pictures." He nods towards the future Yoake. "Remind me, I have a survey I should send you. I got permission to make a site for the miai today!"

"And I am Moto Ruhe, a good meet." The Metalcorn sat near the Spider, having decided it's a good spot to eat stew in company. "Ain't there wild game in the countryside for target practice? Unless the hosts are against."

"Oh, um Coffee?" Hayato offered after a thoughtful moment, bit the phoenix not drink the stuff? Was it rare on this world? Could he survive without it?

Further conversation was interupted by the arrival of the young phoenix womans arrival, pausing to turn towards here he offered a bow careul not to spill his cup of sake. "A pleasure to meet you, Asako-sama. I'm Tsuruchi Hayato of the Mantis."

"No need to apologize though." His lips curled into a warm smile. "It must be nice to spot a familar face in all of this after all."

"I'd be glad to," she nodded, carefully trying not to sound too excited by the prospect... though certainly some excitement shone through.



"I don't know, but I definitely want to find out," she bowed to the Spider at the new introduction, as well as the new Moto. "Pleased to meet you both. I'm Matsu Chiyoko, and this," she motions to Hyeon-ju, "is Utaku Hyeon-ju."

After looking at the pictures and getting an idea of the governor's plans for the future of the planet, Nishida could not help but notice that the obvious star of the Miai had arrived. Slowly he moved through the crowd and walked to a proper distance between the group formed around Chiruah and waited to be noticed.

Chiruha gave the room a slow look around with an amused smirk. "And here I was wondering why we were suddenly so popular. I leave for a few days and I come back to find the place has grown three times as much! It's a bit wild. I don't know I could get used to this," she giggled.

Her gaze slowly found themselves on the various placards and ads about the "City of the Future", her good mirth did fade slightly.

"Pleased to meet you Tsuruchi-sama! I'm guessing that Mal-Chin-san here already welcomed you. It's not too hard for me but I guess we're hoping in the new few days that everything around here is a familiar face to everyone, to both the guests and the locals."

She felt another presence and slowly turned to the Yasuki who approached, bowing to him politely. "Good evening, Yasuki-sama, welcome. This one is Asako Chiruha, with Asako Mal-Chin-san and Tsuruchi Hayato-sama. Come, come," she waved him closer.

Nishida approached the group and gave everyone a proper bow. "I'm highly honored to make everyones acquaintance. I'm Yasuki Nishida, procurment specialist for YamadaCorp."

Nishida followed the gaze back to the pictures. "Our honored host has great plans for the future it seems"

"I suppose we'll see where the next few days lead us. Thought with events like this, I'm sure most of us will get to meet each other sooner rather then later." He dipped into a bow as the Yasuki arrived in the group, offering the man a polite smile.

"A pleasure to make your acquaitance, Yasuki-san."

"YamadaCorp?" She mentioned curiously and perhaps a touch cautious, "The miai itself must have dragged you away from your important day to day duties at home. I'm sure you'll find yourself a little more familiar here as we are thankful for some of the Crab's aid in the development of the colony. Hai, I suppose father has some rather ambitious plans in this small pocket of the galaxy."

She nodded to Hayato. "While we won't be having events like this everyday, there's more than enough things to do around the Shiro and the settlement at large. Maybe Mal-Chin-san can help with some recommendations. Sometimes I'm surprised we have what we have here sometimes," she smirked in good humour.

"YamadaCorp provides our brave and dutiful bushi with the necessary tools to perform their duties. I assure you that my services for my daily duties will not suffer from my visit to this extremely beautiful planet, Asako-san. And I am delighted that my clan has been able to help in the development of this colony." he said with a smile.

The conversational circle had doubled in size. Not only the Spider, but also a fellow Moto. Her senses adapted to include them all. "Well met. Thank you for the introduction, Matsu-san." She gave a bow, figuring it was the most efficient solution for now in greeting.

"And yes, we certainly want to find out if there is a shooting range. Or something similar. But as Moto-san added, there might be wild game for target practice."

Then she added in; "and of course, we would have to make certain that is acceptable with our host. We are all here as guests."

"Speaking of development..." Chiruha regarded each samurai in her company. "I guess that would be an interesting question to ask around here, especially with the message and aspirations of the future. Does anyone here have an idea of what could benefit Shiro Yaoke in the future? There's a possibility that you'll be leaving here and destined to another world but also the possibility of finding your home here too."

At least one of the seemed to be trying to impress the locals and Hayato fought down the urge to let an amused smile onto his face. Instead he concentrated on the question the young woman brought up.

"Honestly, I'd need to get to know the planet a bit better before I could answer you Asako-sama." He offered with an easy smile. "I could likely offer you some ideas of what I'd want to see, but whether that will benefit the planet or not? Well as of yet I couldn't say."
