Martial arts and baseball? This he had to see. And it seemed like a good way to meet fellow awesome movie enthusiasts, too. Yul had sent a message to all his friends on comms (and also Hyeon-ju), and done his best to spread the word. One of the Lion had been interested, and was supposed to be bringing some of her friends, too.

Dressed once more in his casual clothing, and carrying a moderate sack full of snacks, mostly rice cakes, Yul set them on one of the tables; alas, it was definitely a BYOB sort of situation. Opening, the bag, he shrugged, snagging one of the rice cakes for himself. Hosting is easy!

As he fiddled with the infoscreen, Yul glanced around, wondering just who would be showing up...

Hide was down for watching this movie at the mention of baseball. But the prospect of people punching things on top of that? Well, this Matsu surely had to see that. So, she hit the vending machines and grabbed a couple of bags of snacks. Oh, and she couldn’t pass by that protein bar, either.

She spotted the Unicorn by himself, in perfect viewing range. Ah, he just had to be a fellow enjoyer of the sports and martial arts genre. “Good evening. You here for the movie night?” Hide could only be described as dressed in a very casual manner. She was here to relax tonight, after all.

Yul first raised a hand in greeting, and then on further consideration, gave a seated bow. "Yeah. Shinjo Yul. It's a pleasure to meet you, Matsu-san." He pointed at the screen with the remote. "I've never seen this before, but it sounded awesome."

His eyes narrowed. "Are you Matsu Hide? I saw your message. I brought rice cakes." He waved a hand at the table with his snacks. "I hope a few more people show up. It'll take me forever to eat all these by myself."

The Matsu perked up at the sound of her name being mentioned. “Yeah, that’s me! Glad someone saw the message. Hoping more show up.”

“You brought rice cakes? Oh, nice! I, uhhh...” Hide looked down at the contents of her arms, which included a few small bags of whatever chips they had in the vending machine. “I just hit the vending machines here for some snacks. There’s... Shrimp flavor. That’s always good. Ooooh, sweet potato if that’s more your speed.”

Jin watched with rapt attention in the Wisteria Inn common room. Wow, those moves!

Meanwhile, Yube decided to try and steal some snacks from around the room.

"Shrimp me." Smirking, Yul held up a hand. "And hey, there's still a few minutes before it starts... although looks like we're getting some previews."

The screen showed a man standing at home plate, baseball bat in hand, dressed as a monk. The pitcher narrowed his eyes, and then threw the ball, hard and fast, straight down the middle.

The apparent monk leaped into the air, his body twisting, his foot lashing out in a powerful spinning kick. He connected with the thrown ball. With a boom, the ball was knocked all the way out of the stadium, flames flickering around it. A shock-wave emanated from the impact, knocking the catcher and pitcher to the ground, and shattering the lenses on nearby cameras.

"Hey," Yul said with a smile, greeting the newcomer. "Shinjo Yul. You hear to watch?"

"Ujina Jin, hai. Seemed like a fun feature." His eyes bulged at the booming kick. "Wow, the special effects are top notch..." He glanced around. "Uh-oh. Have you seen my monkey?"

Taking a moment to imitate the pitcher’s stance, Hide tossed the package of shrimp flavored chips towards Yul much like a baseball. But, you know, a bag and not a ball.

She turned her attention to the newcomer and grinned wide at who she saw. “Oh, Ujina-sama. Long time no see. You might want to check the rice cakes for Yube.”

Yul laughed at Hide's pitch, even as he caught it, fairly able. "Good throw." He said. "Here, I'll give you one back." He tossed a still-packaged rice cake at her, throwing it more like a frisbee.

He looked blankly at Jin. "What?" He said. A moment later, understanding flashed in his brown eyes. "Oh, is that some sort of pet? A monkey pet?"

"Oh hey Matsu-san." He waved at the familiar Lion. "Ah, Shinjo-san, yes. He is this big." he hald his fingers quite short apart. "He's a really tiny monkey, and he likes to eat everything, even though he shouldn't."

He started walking around, but did, indeed spot something among the rice cakes. "Ah-ha!"

The Matsu easily catches the package of rice cake thrown in her direction. She had to inspect it for signs of foul play on the part of Yube, however. Luckily, the wrapping was fully intact. “Thanks, Shinjo-san.”

“I got roomed with Nakauchi-san, by the way. Got pretty lucky to get roomed with someone from our shuttle!” She looked over to the Ujina as she spoke.

He gave Hide a wave of acknowledgement.

"You guys getting along well with your roommates?" Yul asked as he took a seat for the movie, after carefully looking for tiny monkey.

Ichika had been coming back to the room from the earlier event. Which was when she came in to find everyone getting ready for some kind of other event, and then she remembered! Finding Yul, a familiar face, she made her way over toward him and gave a quick wave, a "Hey!" and then let him get back to his hosting duties by trying to sneak away.

"Hey, Doji-san!" Yul grinned, waving back. "Good to see you again. How's the miai been treating you so far?"

He looked at her, eyebrows going up. "Movie's about to start. You wanna join us?" He slid over a little, making space in the seat next to him.

"Oh!" she looked around at everyone, the screen, Yul had moved over by then and she gave a bright, "Sure!"

"It's not what I expected at all!" she said, as she sat down, being careful to not disrupt the appearance of her kimono too much. Wouldn't want to know what would be said about her if she let herself fall to impropriety like that.

Hide stopped in her tracks as she noticed the smaller Crane that had joined them. Well, at least the Matsu was no longer the shortest person in the room. “Ah, welcome, Doji-san. We got snacks if you want to have some as well.”

Now she had to be on her best behavior, there was a Crane in the room.

Yul didn't have the best grasp of propriety, but he did know you couldn't put your arm around a lady's shoulders when there were two other people there. And so he just scooted the tiniest, still appropriate bit closer.

Meanwhile, on the screen...

The opposing team finally got a hit, a long line drive. One of the monks, the heavyset one, suddenly jumped into the air, perhaps thirty feet up. He caught the ball, throwing it towards first base.

It didn't look like it was going to be there in time... until the first base player shot his sleeve out, glove still on it.
The ball landed safely in the glove, just in time for first base to knock the runner flat with a palm strike. The crowd cheered.

"What, you weren't expecting that?" Yul murmured, leaning a little closer as he spoke.

Ichika gave a quick wave, and a short "Thanks!" as the movie seemed to start. Opting not to help herself to anything yet she settled into the seat, but quickly turned around before anything had really got underway. With a smile, "Doji Ichika by the way! Diplomat, kinda," she offered, by means of offering her the appropriate way to refer.



Settling back into the seat she got to watching the start and, "Just, thought it'd be a lot less fun. Meeting all these people though.." she chuckled softly, "it's actually been really nice."

Another slipped into the room after hearing of a show being shown. The girl outfit did not really have Spider colours nor was there any easily visible mons.

"Ooh, busy room" she gave a sweeping bow to all at once "is there room for one more or should I lay across everyone?" Nara giggled.

Hide looked over towards the newcomer. Huh, it was really becoming a party now. The Matsu gestured next to her as she sat down. “There’s a seat over here. And help yourself to the snacks we brought.”

“Matsu Hide, by the way.”
