Getting undressed he scrubbed the day off, preparing for night before hopping into the pool and resting against the edge of the hot pool. He'd have to write his staff sergeant about the proper bath, the jealousy would be satisfying.

A thin figure entered the outer area of the onsen and joined Shokomaru in the hot pool.

"He gave the stranger a short bow with "Yasuki Nishida, delighted to meet you, samurai-sama" and let himself slide into the pool. He took off his glasses and put them aside. "Ahhh, just beautiful, isn't it?" he asked

Yasuki. Crab.

Well, good a time as any, I suppose.

"Daigotsu Shokomaru, pleasure to meet, Yasuki-san", he returned the greeting with a nod. It wasn't dismissive, but he wasn't going to rise and bow to the man in the bath, either. "And it is a nice bath."

"Have a proper flight in?" he asked after wetting his wash cloth and folding it. Nice and hot he put it right on his face after leaning his head back.

Another Spider. Great.
Daigotsu Shokomaru? Nishida thought about if he heard that name before. Nope, he didn't.

He didn't knew if Shokomaru was higher in Status or not, so he would treat him as superior to play safe.
"I had a rather pleasant flight, Daigotsu-sama. I even encountered two other of your kin. An Actress named Susume Nara and a Surgeon named Kuchiki Satoru. I hope your flight was pleasant as well?"

"Good in flight entertainment. Met a Moto who could turn a Crane tea party into a mosh pit", there was a smirk visible at the edge of the towel on his face.

"But I met the Spider you speak of. Hope they weren't troublesome." his hand came up, finger wagging clear and strong. "A miai isn't that kind of battlefield."

Nishida gave him a grin: "No, they were rather pleasent, at least Kuchiki-san seemed very talented, even when he is a rather quiet fellow. I'll take it you're here for the Miai too?"

"As you can see", he held his arms out as if to shrug, towel still over his face. "The Spider sent their best."

Yes, that seemed to be sarcasm.

Nishida supressed a slight chukle. "I assure you, the crab has done the same" he said in the same manner.

"I can imagine, we're both from military clans, and though I'm a soldier myself I tend to be babysitting more than shooting these days", he sighed. "Ano..you said Yasuki Yashida, neh? Sounds familiar but I admit I don't have Crab personnel files on me. Aren't you connected to some industry?"

"It is Yasuki Nishida. Yes, I mainly work for YamadaCorp as a procurment specialist. Our main business is high quality weapons, but we also have other businesses in various industries."

"hooo? Weapons, eh?" he took the cloth off his face and sat up. "If I'm remembering right YamadCorp produced the L-20A. Nice rifle, shame the brass is too cheap to contract for that."

"A shame really, isn't it? The L-20A line was the design of a fool who came to the company by marriage, fortunately this problem has been eliminated. But I can guarantee you that the L-20B line is of better value."

He nodded along, Nishida was in acquisitions, and a rep, he had to put in the good word.

"Well it's interesting regardless. I never got to test any, but I'd read a report about it's modular design, letting it go from SAW to Anti-materiel to DMR with a kit that could be used in the field. So i take it the B is less of a mess in it's approach and will be more balanced without the fuss of swapping parts in battle?"

"We have returned to a simpler and more reliable design. Also the B-line has it's own subcategories. The L-20B-1 is suitable for hand-to-hand combat with higher projectile output, at the same energy consumption as a comparable model in this sector. However, it has a shorter range, making it suitable either as a secondary weapon in the field or as a weapon for the crew on board." he declared in his best salesman tone.

"Carbines are good for boarding, vehicle crews too, though our drivers use old MS-5's, they spit fire like you'd expect but it feels like the mag dies a little quicker each time you recharge it", he chuckled, as there was little else he could do about that. "Though that's not your corp's merch, I blame the Mantis." He smirked. "But don't let them hear that, I'm told our clans are friendly."

"The engineer who fixes recharge fatique will truly be blessed by the Kami." he said smirking.

"May i inquire what your duty is for the spider, Daigotsu-sama?"

"I lead a mounted infantry company. Mostly Ushi APC's and a logistics truck. Not very exciting...until it's too exciting", he said and sank into the water a little more again. "Did a garrison duty stint on Blightwell, wasn't as boring as I thought it'd be."

Nishida needed a second to think about what happend on Blightwell. "..." then he remaind silent for a second.

(i don't know how public it is either, really. though there was someone who married into the Spider and went there to be charitable to the commoners, so maybe that's known. it's a rough place)

Shokomaru shrugged. "It is what it is, nothing to worry about. So, Yasuki-san, if you don't mind me asking, what qualities are you looking for in a spouse?" he smirked, letting the Crab know he was likely teasing. "You know there are a lot of Spider here, i'm sure one of our lovely ladies has caught your eye, right?"

"First and foremost they should be a great addition to the clan, as i, most likely won't be marry out of the crab." he said very formally. "As for my personal taste. The person should like tea, have no problem with dogs and be interested in talking about many different topics. Beyond that I have no further requirements. As for the ladies of the spider, I have only met Susume Nara-san so far, she seemed a little,... too special for my personal taste. What about you Daigotsu-sama?"
