Bayushi Mineichi is the honorable Lord Magistrate of Oborozuki, responsible for keeping the peace in the various districts that make up the province; a duty that leaves the morose and dour man little free time. Reclusive Mineichi is widely known to be the right hand of Bayushi Mizuki, the governess of the Oborozuki province. While many of Mizuki's political opponents are eager to make glib jokes regarding her 'right hand', Mineichi is generally considered to be an exemplary Scorpion samurai, known to be both ruthless and utterly loyal to those he serves, his record impeccable as far as anyone can tell. Leading a force of nearly two thousand security officers and agents, Mineichi is rarely seen in public, preferring his duties to the social responsibilities associated with his role.

Anyone with access to the Scorpion news networks can read how Mineichi's Dragon-born wife perished in an unfortunate accident involving a malicious spirit in 3118, old tabloids were rife with speculations on whom the Lord Magistrate would marry once the mourning period was over. Yet the same archives show that Mineichi remains unmarried to this day; Scorpion journalists praise this dedication to his dead wife whenever his name is mentioned. However, anyone with any political acumen can tell that a man of his position is obliged to produce an heir so that his children can serve the children of his liege, raising questions regarding his intentions. Similarly anyone scouring the databases can read of three duels Mineichi has been involved with during his career, each such occasion linked to him defending his honor. Curiously, one can also find two poem collections he has penned, his work for the most part conforming to standard norms and traditions, with Scorpion critics calling his work 'sincere' at best.

Sadae is a senior assistant to an elderly nakado and genealogist, Soshi Kagome, who is known for being hellbent on employing both the traditional and genetic methods to ensure the best possible matches. The venerable nakado has a reputation for creating unions that produce prodigies, meaning that she has numerous clients and patrons, continuing to serve her lord well past the official retirement age. As of 3124 Sadae has been serving under Kagome for the past three years, learning the tricks of the trade as well as establishing connections necessary in the duty assigned to him. While Kagome usually meets with the parents involved and helps them to make the final decision, it falls to Sadae to interview the potential candidates to weed out the most promising individuals for the clients to meet.

When serving his clients, Sadae wears a traditional multi-layered kimono in Scorpion colors wearing his lush, black hair on top knot. While his kimono bears the sign of a rather well known tailor, the same cannot be said of his elaborate netsuke, most of them cheap copies of famous brand items. Sadae's everyday mask is quite traditional, resembling a stylized face of a fox, the features of the wily animal painted with bright red on pristine white enamel.

Eriko began her career with the compulsory military duty program, something that most able-bodied Crabs are familiar with shortly after their gempukku. She served a short stint as a Junior Intelligence Analyst, distilling all the administrative work and keeping on radar pings. After her military service, she began her start as a Kuni witch hunter with a loose set of duties that allowed her to visit several worlds across the galaxy to seek out those who succumb to the temptation of the Shadowlands and keep an eye out for potential threats for the Crab Clan. She hadn't found much access as a witch hunter but she had been spending her time investigating historical relics as well as the entangled criminal elements who have been pursuing them. Unfortunately, she had gotten on the bad side of some notorious criminals for her interference and trouble seems to have a habit of following her. After the miai on Asakaze, she was married to Matsu Hide after just a few short months.

Matsu Eriko is easily picked out by the Kuni traditional face paint that she wears, blue eye shadow and a distinct motif around her left eye, which makes her training and heritage unmistakable. She has long dark hair with a fashionably shaved undercut. Her fashion choices are mostly contemporary and drawn from styles found in developed worlds with bustling metropolises. She finds herself favouring dress coats or casual summer suits with robe-like blouses. Regardless of what she chooses to dress in, her sidearm is often kept close in a shoulder holster. It remains to be seen if becoming a samurai of the Lion Clan or married life will keep her out of trouble.

Bayushi Mariko is perhaps best known as the eldest daughter of Bayushi Aramoro, a very successful actor who began will roles as rebellious youths before maturing into more suave and debonair characters. Unfortunately, the Scorpion entertainment world was hit with the tragedy of losing Bayushi Aramoro a few years ago in a bike accident while he was exploring a frontier world for his next role. Mariko was pushed into the spotlight to follow in her father's footsteps ever since her youth, first in a few ads and small parts before moving on to more established roles after her gempukku. Her most 'successful' starring role would be in the quirky military-medical serial Medical Ops, Unit Go! The serial would last only one season before being unceremoniously forgotten about. She would later appear in a co-starring role in the historical drama Dangerous Words before her character, Kitsuki Shika, was written off the show. Since then, her career had been mostly made up of minor roles in serials, low-budget movies, or other smaller productions. However, ever since her father's death, she has been scarce from the public spotlight.

Much like her late father, does possess many qualities that would make her a likely celebrity. She looks beautiful, admittedly shapely, and has the confidence to pull everything off, perhaps everything that you would expect from a classical Bayushi samurai. She had changed much of her appearance recently, favouring more alternative and edgy fashions. Her long sleek black hair had been half dyed with a bold red and she had been going with more eye-catching make-up that accentuate her eyes. She often dresses in black with the occasional pastel colours thrown in, a combination of street fashions with a gothic touch. Her mask isn't worn often but featured in some sort as an accessory.
