Michiya sits in the lounge of the hotel, with a cup of tea and his densai. He looks over a letter that his father gave him before leaving, that he said to only open once he arrived on the planet. As expected, it was partly lecture on maintaining decorum and partly expectations on finding a suitable spouse. He smiled to himself, as he heard his father's voice in his head while reading it. Authoritative yet somehow still gentle.

The automated front doors of the Snow Maiden glided open for the silver-haired Hiruma who stepped into the perfectly spiritually-aligned hotel. She probably didn't take much notice of the implied benefits in his painstaking decor, only merely glad that she was able to be blasted with air-conditioning. The world proved to be far warmer than she thought. Her outfit consisted of a short sleeve top and grey athletic tights. She hung her rather warm jacket over the duffle bag around her shoulders and dragged her luggage to the front desk.

"I have a reservation here..." she murmured as she handed over a business card with the details, then paused to cautiously take in her surroundings.

Michiya looked up to the new arrival, but didn't say anything for the moment. He didn't wish to get in her way as she saw to her accommodations. He was curious if she was another of the participants in the miai, but he would be able to find that out in time. He'd likely meet many of them over the course of the event.

There was an awkward moment with the hotel staff as the attendant went on a search frenzy. Clearly her reservation was right, although either it wasn't on the reservation or the transaction hadn't connected fully. After a moment, the attendant would bow deeply and promised that she would see to this directly with her superior, asking her if she would like to wait at the lounge with complimentary tea and mochi.



"Alright..." The Crab seemed mildly annoyed but didn't raise a heckle, perhaps going through this a few time already, merely nodded at the offer and sauntered off to the lounge with her things in tow. Upon seeing the rather important Hanako there, she bowed politely in greeting. "Good afternoon, Seppun-sama."

"Good afternoon. I am Seppun Michiya no Hanako," he says with a bowing his head politely in return. "A victim of the dangers of bureaucracy?" he asks, clearly not having been shown to her room.

A small shock of pink hair descended the stairs and after a quick look around decided not to intrude quite yet. Especially as he'd totally forgotten to send the message he'd meant to. Fishing out his fox face communicator, he took a seat at the other side of the lounge and looked up the number and details he'd been given.

"Whereisit . . . ? Rightheshouldbeherebynow. Phoenixanywaymightlivehere."

He figured a message first would be polite so he keyed in a few things just as quickly as he talked. The message sent wasn't quite what he intended.



He blinked.

"Ohforfuckssake. Imeantfavournotpaver."

His communicator yipped and the ears flashed. "Ahcrapvoicetotext nonononononono." He pressed another series of commands quickly, but the message had already gone.



He stared at the ceiling and keyed in another message very slowly.



The comm yipped happily and the ears flashed again.

"I'm Hiruma Chiyoko. Pleased to meet you, Seppun-sama," she said before casting a glance behind her at the reception desk, figuring that it might take a while before they sorted what they had to. Sliding the duffle bag off of her shoulders, she placed it down at one of the cushions

She brushed some strands of silver hair behind her ear with a roll of her eyes. "Ugh, I imagine so. Hard to believe that I have a reservation card with a reservation block and I'm the one they have trouble finding on their list. Almost would have been better to stay at the hostel I saw earlier on the way here."

When the short bit of coloured hair descended down the stairs, she would give him a passing bow before he went off to his own spot.

Likewise, the Seppun gave a nod to the passing Kitsune before turning his attention to the Hiruma. "I've never stayed in a hostel. Though from how I understand it, it's only a bit less cramped than crew quarters on a ship. It's certainly a very different experience from home. But the rooms here are pretty comfortable."

"Hostels aren't great, but a place to lay your head after a busy day and workout is more than enough for me. I'm still trying to get used to all of these fancy hotels, to be honest..." she smiled sheepishly on that note with a shrug of her shoulder. "But at the very least, they look pretty good when recorded on camera, gives a lot of eye candy for my log. Not bad for a colony..."

After a few quiet nods without saying anything else, she let an awkward pause set it. She did eventually speak up once more. "Uhm...so, Seppun-sama...what's exactly going around here."

"Other than the miai? I am not sure. There's apparently a good amount of nature to see. Big birds and fungi are prevalent from my understanding, which I hope to observe while I'm here. Don't know of any scheduled events during this period. I just got in yesterday and I've been settling in mostly."

"Oh, a miai, that would explain it..." she nodded a few times with a low glance around the room. At least she knew enough to not speak ill of her hosts but the town was rather bare to what she was typically used to. "It would explain the amount of fan fare in a place this small. I got a peak of the landscape before I landed but I don't think the wildlife touring is in the books for me, so I'll just stay in town, thanks."

Izumi considered stepping in at mention of fungi and wildlife, but he was still wrestling with his communicator that was staring back at him like an electronic fox of doom.

"Therehastobeasettingtoturnoffvoicetotextfully."

The ears flashed again, but he was ready this time quickly cutting off it's attempts to spam Shiba-san's inbox. It made a sad growly sound.

"MaybetheMiaiwasabadtimetogetanewcommfor . . .?"

While not proper to get into other people's business but Chiyoko couldn't help but tilts her head slightly toward the Kitsune's direction, feeling a bit bothered by the rapid speaking. She was no medical or psychological expert but she suspected of the Kitsune of suffering a breakdown. While she didn't exactly speak up, she thumbed to the direction of the Kitsune using her body to block it as best she could, wondering what was the Seppun's opinion. She was just touring talent, he was the proper samurai sort.

Michiya didn't really know what was going on with the Kitsune really. The rapid talking was completely out of the ordinary as far as he knew. He'd never met anyone that spoke like that. His expression was one of confusion.

"Do you need a hand with something Kitsune-san?" he asks, the Fox clearly not pleased with the communicator.

Izumi looked up, and blinked.

"Ohjustsometechnicalproblems."

He waved the foxhead shaped FoxComm 210.

"NewcommunicatornotdoingexactlywhatIwantyet. Seppun-sama."

"I see. It took me a week before I got mine set up how I wanted it," he says with an understanding nod.

The ears flashed quickly and there was a growling sound. Izumi peered at the screen and sighed.

"Nono, stoptryingtoaccessthehotelprivategrid! Ididn'ttellyoutodothat!"

Remembering the Imperial he gave an apologetic grin.

Perhaps the lack of refinement got the better of Chiyoko and she found herself narrowing her eyes on Izumi. She blurted out, "...what, now?" As she didn't understand him.

Looking to the communicator, she got a semblance of what it was about. "Oh, yeah. Trying to deal with a new communicator when you're away is the wooorst. So yeah, good luck with that."

As the Kitsune tried to get a handle on his communicator he focused back on the Hiruma. "So you are not here for the miai then? What brings you to Asakaze if you do not mind me asking?"

Izumi keyed in a couple of commands and waited . . . when there were no rebellious yips or angry growls he carefully pressed the 'quiet mode' button and waited another few moments to see if he had finally 'won'.
